The geoinformation system for handheld computers (PDAs) makes it possible to solve a wide range of geographically dispersed
data (GDD) processing problems. The developed program software (PS) based on effective models and GDD processing methods has
allowed significantly increasing the GDD processing rate in PDAs.
Yurii G. Vasin was born in 1940 and graduated from Gor’kii State University in 1962. He received his doctoral (doctor of science) degree
in 1988 and was a recipient of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1990. He is the director of the Research
Institute of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the State University of Nizhni Novgorod. His scientific interests include
theoretical and applied computer science, pattern recognition and image processing, and information technologies, and he is
the author of more than 100 publications.
Sergei V. Zherzdev was born in 1976 and graduated from the State University of Nizhni Novgorod in 1999. He is a software engineer at the Research
Institute of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the State University of Nizhni Novgorod. His scientific interests include
theoretical and applied computer science and data compression techniques. He is the author of 7 publications.
Andrei A. Egorov was born in 1982 and graduated from the State University of Nizhni Novgorod in 2006. He is a programmer at the Research Institute
of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the State University of Nizhni Novgorod, and his scientific interests include hierarchical

New method to estimate quantitatively the strain-rate sensitivity of a superplastic material is suggested. It is based upon measurements of the initial slopes of the stress–strain curves. In contrast with known techniques the method suggested is appropriate to apply to small deformations, so that the result obtained are to be assigned to the initial structural state of the material under consideration. The experimental verification of the method suggested is fulfilled in practice for the example of Wood's alloy. It is shown that the strain-rate sensitivity of this alloy decreases monotonically with increasing strain, ; the value of m determined by means of the method suggested are in good agreement with that determined independently using standard techniques. An ill-posed problem is considered in the form of a nonlinear operator equation with a discontinuous inverse operator. It
is known that in investigating a high convergence of the methods of the type of Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) method, one is forced
to impose very severe constraints on the problem operator. In the suggested article the LM method convergence is set up not
for the initial problem, but for the Tikhonov-regularized equation. This makes it possible to construct a stable Fejer algorithm
for approximation of the solution of the initial irregular problem at the conventional, comparatively nonburdensome conditions

Papers on the Tikhonov Regularization with a nondifferentiable stabilizer are briefly reviewed and the results obtained by the author on two-stage regular approximation of nonsmooth solutions of ill-defined problems are described.
