Simulation of programmable logic controller

The development and test of a PLC control program takes time, increases equipment down-time, and might damage hardware due to program errors. All of these problems can be eliminated if there is a computer simulation system for testing control programs off line. This paper presented a new method, called Direct Sequential Method, for simulating PLCs. This method resolves a ladder logic sequentially by applying a series of logic deductions. This simulation system has been implemented in C and tested successfully.

音频大地电磁测深在某隧道工程中的应用

音频大地电磁(AMT)在隧道的工程地质勘察是一种非常有效的方法,它具有不受高阻屏蔽、轻便、探测深度相对较大等优点,在宏观上可以查明隧道地层岩性分界、地质构造及其赋水性。以某隧道音频大地电磁勘察为例,分别对AMT的采集手段、工频干扰去噪、静态校正、反演方法等关键技术问题进行分析,并结合实际资料对该工作区的地层分布、断层及其破碎带的赋水情况等进行分析和解释,在其应用中取得了理想的效果。     

Effects of laser beam energy and incident angle on the pulse laser welding of stainless steel thin sheet

This paper reports an experimental study of laser spot welding on stainless steel sheets. A pulsed Nd:YAG laser was used to weld the stainless steel specimen in the range of laser energy 0.6–1.2 J and incident angle 30–75° (the angle of the laser beam incident direction to the sheet surface). Metallography was applied to measure the cross-sectional size and shape of the welded spot. From the experimental results, it is found that as the laser energy increases, the penetration depth, bead length, and bead width of the welded spot increase. As the laser incident angle increases, the penetration depth and the bead width increase while the bead length decreases. The results illustrate that the shape and size of the welded spot depend not only on the laser energy, but also on the incident angle of laser beam.

Integrated-optic array illuminator: a new design for guided-wave optical interconnections

An integrated array illuminator can be used not only as an opticalpower distributor for an array of guided-wave optic devices but also asa key element for guided-wave optical interconnections. We presenta new design for an integrated-optic array illuminator with focusingwaveguide diffractive doublet arrays. This integrated arrayilluminator allows independent optimizations of efficient and uniformoptical power distribution and focusing performance. Furthermore, the device can be fabricated with all-optical lithographic technologyand hence has the advantages of mass production with lowcost.
