An enterprise is not just a tall shiny building or a collection of facilities. Rather, it is the sum of individuals collectively engaged in a common pursuit. From an information and communications perspective, this realization changes everything. By looking at the enterprise as a boundary-less collection of individuals who sometimes work in an office, sometimes at home, and sometimes on the road, we need new communications concepts designed to work with and enhance our complex home and work lives.  相似文献

The low temperature lifetime of electrons excited in the 2p?1 donor level of n-GaAs has been studied in a far-infrared pump-probe experiment. The measurement has been carried out using a pulsed far-infrared molecular gas laser working at a wavelength of 292µm, with the sample in a magnetic field of 5.1 T, resonant with the 1so?2p?1 transition. Two FIR pulses are sliced from one FIR-laser pulse by means of optical switching techniques using two Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers. The first pulse is used to saturate the transition, while the second pulse probes the return of the population in the excited state towards thermal equilibrium as a function of the time delay after the excitation pulse. The value of 350±50 ns found for the lifetime falls in line with CW saturation results on materials with other doping concentrations.  相似文献

Following two years operation of the 100 kW grid-connected installation N13 near Domat/Ems, Switzerland, considerable data are available. The yield of the installation was calculated on the basis of long-term meteorological data and of the Meteonorm model. The findings show a close correlation between the forecast and the measured yields. With 100% availability of the inverter in 1991, the performance of the installation rose from 59% in 1990 to 79% in 1991. With standardized analysis of the data, the performance of the grid-connected installation N13 can be compared with other grid-connected installations irrespective of size and location.  相似文献

The needs that an energy supply system must meet are constantly changing, due to technological, social and political reasons. Effective energy planning is a dynamic process that is repeated periodically and adjusts to changing conditions. Energy decision makers and planners are no longer able to rely on inductive decision making since they have to investigate the effect of various decision parameters and possible future changes. To help in this process, models have been developed where estimates of future load growth, candidate power plants, fuels and other key factors can be introduced, from which the planners can evaluate decision parameters and the available alternatives. The paper presents the different methodologies and practices that are used by 11 energy models for energy demand forecasting, supply side management and generation expansion planning, demand side management and integrated resource planning. The paper concludes to the presentation of a strategic appraisal of the examined energy models appropriate for energy planning in Mozambique. Today patients want to change their Christian names not so much for social support but in order to obtain sex change operations. For this reason among others we caution against casual and careless evaluations and plead for conscientiousness and thoroughness. The spectrum of 16 evaluation cases in the year 1995 is presented. Following this and looking for guiding principles, the most important aspects are discussed: the dilatable frame of the written law, the examiner's diagnostic process, the duty of being well informed, reconstruction of development as the first goal of examination, real-life self-testing and therapy, the obligation to report one's own findings, change of Christian name and indication of operation, evaluation for gender changing, problems of the judge-expert relationship and of future development.  相似文献

Thermal treatments of steel components with the goal of hardening often result in distortion by releasing the residual stresses which were brought into the specimen during the preceding processing steps. The goal of the presented work is the minimization of this distortion. By generating definite residual stress fields and investigating the resulting distortion, the distortion mechanism can be observed in detail. A flexible and reproducible way to generate such residual stress fields inside a specimen is by means of local thermal treatment with a laser beam. Computer simulations as well as experiments were carried out using an idealized tooth of a gearwheel (finger sample) as a model system. The deformation of the samples due to the laser heat treatment and the stress fields generated inside the samples were determined with respect to different process parameters.  相似文献

A self-aligned InGaP/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor with a compositionally graded InxGa1-xAs base has been demonstrated with fT=83 GHz and fmax=197 GHz. To our knowledge, these results are the highest reported for both parameters in InGaP/GaAs HBT's. The graded base, which improves electron transport through the base, results in a DC current gain and a cutoff frequency which are 100% and 20% higher, respectively, than that achieved by an identical device with a nongraded base. The high fmax results from a heavily doped base, self-aligned base contacts, and a self-aligned collector etch. These results demonstrate the applicability of InGaP/GaAs HBT's in high-speed microwave applications  相似文献
