In sub-100-nm generation, gate-tunneling leakage current increases and dominates the total standby leakage current of LSIs based on decreasing gate-oxide thickness. Showing that the gate leakage current is effectively reduced by lowering the gate voltage, we propose a local dc level control (LDLC) for SRAM cell arrays and an automatic gate leakage suppression driver (AGLSD) for peripheral circuits. We designed and fabricated a 32-kB 1-port SRAM using 90-nm CMOS technology. The six-transistor SRAM cell size is 1.25 /spl mu/m/sup 2/. Evaluation shows that the standby current of 32-kB SRAM is 1.2 /spl mu/A at 1.2 V and room temperature. It is reduced to 7.5% of conventional SRAM.  相似文献

Joint spatial-temporal signal processing has been recognized as the key to reducing the effects of the intersymbol and cochannel interference seen in very high bit-rate mobile radio communications systems. Developing hardware simulators that can simulate mobile radio propagation scenarios in time and space domains is essential for evaluating the real-time performance of spatial-temporal signal processing schemes. This paper outlines a complex baseband platform developed for spatial-temporal mobile radio channel simulations. The platform consists of a complex baseband fading/array response simulator, a digital signal processor (DSP) board, and a general-purpose parameter estimator that uses systolic array implementation of the recursive least square (RLS) algorithm. Results of experiments conducted using the developed platform are presented to confirm the proper operation of the system.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel frequency channel blocking (FCB) scheme in mesh-topology millimeter-wave broad-band entrance networks. In the FCB scheme, any frequency channel is determined to be blocked according to not only the network throughput, but also the newly defined fairness index. As the results, the FCB scheme yields better throughput and fairness performances with a little increase in computational complexity compared to the conventional scheme.  相似文献

Due to the recent popularization of mobile multimedia broadcasting, broadcasting continuous media data such as audio and video has attracted great deal of attention. In general continuous media data broadcasting, since clients have to wait to receive data before playing it, various schemes to reduce waiting time have been studied. Some reduce the waiting time by dividing the data into several segments and broadcasting preceding segments frequently with a single channel. However, by dividing the data into numerous segments and producing an effective broadcast schedule, the waiting time can be further reduced. In this paper, we propose a scheduling protocol to reduce waiting time with large-scale data segmentation.  相似文献

Due to the recent proliferation of digital broadcasting systems, various schemes for broadcasting continuous media data such as music or movies have been studied. In general broadcasting systems, since clients have to wait until their desired data are broadcast, these schemes reduce the waiting time by dividing the data into several segments of equal size. However, continuous media data often have units for playing portions of the data. For example, data encoded by MPEG2 can be played every GOP (group of pictures). In this paper, we propose a scheme to reduce the waiting time considering the units. Our proposed scheme divides a continuous media data at every unit. By scheduling divided data so that clients finish receiving a unit before starting to play the unit, waiting time is effectively reduced.  相似文献

We demonstrate coherent demodulation of optical multilevel (M-ary) phase-shift-keying (PSK) signals. Since the carrier phase is estimated accurately through digital signal processing after phase-diversity homodyne detection, the system performance is highly tolerant to the carrier phase noise. By off-line bit-error-rate measurements using distributed feedback semiconductor lasers with linewidths of 150 kHz as a transmitter and a local oscillator, it is shown that binary PSK (M=2), quadrature PSK (M=4), and eight-PSK (M=8) signals are successfully demodulated at the symbol rate of 10 Gsymbol/s.  相似文献

This study aims to investigate the shear and tensile impact strength of solder ball attachments. Tests were conducted on Ni-doped and non-Ni-doped Sn-0.7wt.% Cu, Sn-37wt.% Pb and Sn-3.0wt.% Ag-0.7wt.% Cu solder ball grid arrays (BGAs) placed on Cu substrates, which were as-reflowed and aged, over a wide range of displacement rates from 10 to 4000 mm/s in shear and from 1 to 400 mm/s in tensile tests. Ni additions to the Sn-0.7wt.% Cu solders has slowed the growth of the interface intermetallic compounds (IMCs) and made the IMC layer morphology smooth. As-reflowed Ni-doped Sn-0.7wt.% Cu BGA joints show superior properties at high speed shear and tensile impacts compared to the non-Ni-doped Sn-0.7wt.% Cu and Sn-3.0wt.% Ag-0.7wt.% Cu BGAs. Sn-3.0wt.% Ag-0.7wt.% Cu BGAs exhibit the least resistance in both shear and tensile tests among the four compositions of solders, which may result from the cracks in the IMC layers introduced during the reflow processes.  相似文献

A scalable single-chip 422P@ML MPEG-2 video, audio, and system encoder LSI for portable 422P@HL system is described. The encoder LSI is implemented using 0.13-μm embedded DRAM technology. It integrates 3-M logic gates and 64-Mb DRAM in an area of 99-mm2. The power consumption is suppressed to 0.7 W by adopting a low-power DRAM core. It performs real-time 422P@ML video encoding, audio encoding, and system encoding with no external DRAM. Furthermore, the encoder LSI realizes a 422P@HL video encoder with multichip configuration, due to its scalable architecture. We present a novel optical switching technique utilizing emission packet positioning of semiconductor heterostructure. A modulation-doped p-AlGaAs-GaAs heterostructure is employed to control spontaneous emission packet positioning with electric fields. Emission packets generated by optical input signals are brought over 150 /spl mu/m with electric fields, so the output fibers can detect the emission intensity as signals. The first-order analysis indicates that the drift velocity of minority electrons in GaAs limits the detectable maximum data rate and nanoseconds timescale signal routing operation at 20 Gb/s is possible at an electron drift velocity of 2/spl times/10/sup 7/ cm/s.  相似文献
