In Fifth Generation (5G) Heterogeneous Mobile Networks (HetNets), deploying dense small cell networks makes user association more challenging. The process of collecting cell load information from the User Equipments (UEs) and broadcasting the feedback message involves significant overhead and time complexity. Moreover, the UEs may not know the optimum cell to reselect, satisfying its data rate requirements. In order to overcome these drawbacks, in this paper, we propose to design an Hierarchical and Hybrid Cell Load Balancing (HHCLB) technique using Selective Handoff. In this technique, the UEs of each cell are grouped into clusters depending on their proximity distance. Each cluster contains a cluster controller (CC) which is in charge of determining the intra-cell load and redirecting the cell-reselection request of a UE. If the data rate of any UE in a cluster becomes less than its required rate, then the cell reselection process is performed. By simulation results, it is shown that load balancing can be done proactively (implicitly) by the CCs when the load is unbalanced or can be done on demand (explicitly) when a UE send a request for cell reselection. In the case of Macro cells, HHCLB attains 71% higher throughput for low load scenario and 59% higher throughput for high load scenario. Similarly, in the case of Femto cells, HHCLB attains 19% higher throughput for low load scenario and 27% higher throughput for high load scenario. 相似文献

Fraglets represent an execution model for communication protocols that resembles the chemical reactions in living organisms. The strong connection between their way of transforming and reacting and formal rewriting systems makes a fraglet program amenable to automatic verification. Grounded on past work, this paper investigates feasibility of adopting fraglets as model for specifying security protocols and analysing their properties. In particular, we give concrete sample analyses over a secure RFID protocol, showing evolution of the protocol run as chemical dynamics and simulating an adversary trying to circumvent the intended steps. The results of our analysis confirm the effectiveness of the cryptofraglets framework for the model and analysis of security properties and eventually show its potential to identify and uncover protocol flaws. 相似文献

An energy harvesting (EH) and cooperative cognitive radio (CR) network (CRN) is studied in this paper where CR users transmit data through a primary user (PU) channel if the channel remains idle, else an optimal number CRs helps in transmission of PU. To achieve the optimum number of CRs (ONCR) involved in cooperation, a novel scheme based on a combination of channel censoring and total error is proposed. The performance of the proposed scheme is investigated under RF harvesting scenario. The EH is dependent on sensing decision and a CR source harvests energy from PU's RF signal. The harvested energy (HE) is split into two parts: One part is used by the CR network (CRN) for its own transmission, and the other part is used for supporting PU. The effect of the energy allocation factor on total throughput is also investigated. New expressions for optimal number of CRs and throughput are developed. A practical and accurate parameter extraction method is presented for the Fourier-based-solution physics-based insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) and power diode models. The goal is to obtain a model accurate enough to allow switching loss prediction under a variety of operating conditions. In the first step of the extraction procedure, only one simple clamped inductive load test is needed for the extraction of the six parameters required for the diode model and of the 12 and 15 parameters required for the nonpunch-through (NPT) and punch-through (PT) IGBT models, respectively. The second part of the extraction procedure is an automated formal optimization step that refines the parameter estimation. Validation with experimental results from various structures of IGBT demonstrates the accuracy of the proposed IGBT and diode models and the robustness of the parameter extraction method. 相似文献

Herein we propose the D ‐Trp‐Phe sequence within an inverse type II β‐turn as a new kind of pharmacophoric motif for μ‐opioid receptor (MOR) cyclopeptide agonists. Initially, we observed that c[Tyr‐D ‐Pro‐D ‐Trp‐Phe‐Gly] ( 4 ), an analogue of endomorphin‐1 (H‐Tyr‐Pro‐Trp‐Phe‐NH2) lacking the crucial protonatable amino group of Tyr 1, is a MOR agonist with 10?8 M affinity. Molecular docking analysis suggested that the relevant interactions with the receptor involve D ‐Trp‐Phe. The bioactive conformation of this region was investigated by selected derivatives of 4 designed to adopt an inverse type II β‐turn. These efforts led to c[Tyr‐Gly‐D ‐Trp‐Phe‐Gly] ( 14 ) and to the cyclotetrapeptide c[D ‐Asp‐1‐amide‐β‐Ala‐D ‐Trp‐Phe] ( 15 ), showing improved nanomolar affinity. Both 14 and 15 selectively bind MOR, as they have negligible affinity for the κ‐ and δ‐opioid receptors. Both 14 and 15 behave as partial MOR agonists in functional assays. Conformational and docking analyses confirm the role of the inverse β‐turn in binding. These results indicate that the D ‐Trp‐Phe inverse β‐turn structure can be used for designing non‐endomorphin‐like peptidomimetic opioid agonists in general, characterized by an atypical mechanism of interaction between ligand and receptor. 相似文献

Slow release N fertilizers are receiving increasing attention for use on turf grass, but their fate in the plant-soil system is still poorly understood. We aimed to quantify the uptake and recovery of N by a mixture of grasses when applied as either urea or oxamide in different diameter granules using a tracer technique (15N). The effects of the N source on soil biomass, root density and amount of readily available organic C in soil were also evaluated.In a first experiment oxamide in 4–5 mm diameter granules was compared with urea. The initial N absorption, 40 days after fertilization (d.a.f.), was higher for urea (23.5%) than for oxamide (12.1%), but after 64 days absorption efficiencies were about the same (11%) for both fertilizers. Fertilizer-derived N lost by leaching was much greater from the urea-fertilized soil (1.57 g), compared with losses from oxamide-fertilized soil (0.05 g). The total residual fertilizer N remaining in the system at the end of the experiment was 26.7% of applied urea N and 39.6% of applied oxamide N. Cumulated absorption efficiencies, calculated after dismantling the lysimeters, were 43.1% for urea and 54.8% for oxamide (roots included). A priming effect caused by a larger uptake of soil N because of the better root development was found in the oxamide-treated lysimeter. Fertilization with oxamide also caused an increase in the amount of soil microbial biomass.In a second experiment, the efficiencies and fertilizer N uptake rates from oxamide applied at two different granule sizes (1–2 mm and 5–10 mm) were evaluated. The dielectric and non‐Ohmic properties of Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics sintered under various conditions to obtain different microstructures were investigated. Microstructure analysis confirmed the presence of Na, Y, Cu, Ti, and O and these elements were well dispersed in the microstructure. Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics exhibited non‐Ohmic characteristics with large nonlinear coefficients of about 5.7–6.6 irrespectively of sintering conditions. The breakdown electric field of fine‐grained ceramic with the mean grain size of ≈1.7 μm (≈5600 V/cm) was much larger than those of the course‐grained ceramics with grain sizes of ≈9.5–10.4 μm (≈1850–2180 V/cm). Through optimization of sintering conditions, a low loss tangent of about 0.03 and very high dielectric permittivities of 18 000–23 000 with good temperature stability were successfully accomplished. The electrical responses of the grains and grain boundaries can, respectively, be well described using admittance and impedance spectroscopy analyses based on the brickwork layer model. A possible mechanism for the origin of semiconducting grains is discussed. The colossal dielectric response was reasonably described as closely correlated with the electrically heterogeneous microstructure by means of strong interfacial polarization at the insulating grain‐boundary layers. The non‐Ohmic properties of Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics were primarily related to their microstructure, i.e., grain size and volume fraction of grain boundaries. 相似文献

The node distribution of the random waypoint mobility model for wireless ad hoc networks 总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
The random waypoint model is a commonly used mobility model in the simulation of ad hoc networks. It is known that the spatial distribution of network nodes moving according to this model is, in general, nonuniform. However, a closed-form expression of this distribution and an in-depth investigation is still missing. This fact impairs the accuracy of the current simulation methodology of ad hoc networks and makes it impossible to relate simulation-based performance results to corresponding analytical results. To overcome these problems, we present a detailed analytical study of the spatial node distribution generated by random waypoint mobility. More specifically, we consider a generalization of the model in which the pause time of the mobile nodes is chosen arbitrarily in each waypoint and a fraction of nodes may remain static for the entire simulation time. We show that the structure of the resulting distribution is the weighted sum of three independent components: the static, pause, and mobility component. This division enables us to understand how the model's parameters influence the distribution. We derive an exact equation of the asymptotically stationary distribution for movement on a line segment and an accurate approximation for a square area. The good quality of this approximation is validated through simulations using various settings of the mobility parameters.
