Co-fermentation using yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia kudriavzevii) and the bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum) as starters isolated from spontaneous sourdough was conducted for the brewing of glucuronic acid (GlcA)-enriched apple cider. The concentration of GlcA in the apple cider co-fermented for 14 d with commercial S. cerevisiae and L. plantarum was 37.7 ± 1.7 mg/mL while a concentration of 62.8 ± 3.1 mg/mL was recorded for fermentation with P. kudriavzevii and L. plantarum, which was higher than the corresponding single yeast fermentation. The co-fermented apple cider revealed higher 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity of 171.67 ± 0.79 µg trolox equivalents (TE)/mL using P. kudriavzevii and L. plantarum, compared to the control (143.89 ± 7.07 µg TE/mL) just using S. cerevisiae. Thus, the co-fermentation of S. cerevisiae and L. plantarum and P. kudriavzevii and L. plantarum provided a new strategy for the development of GlcA-enriched apple cider with enhanced antioxidant capacity.  相似文献

This paper presents a review of two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) finite element grinding models after 1995 and categorizes them by the scale of the modeling approach—either macro- or micro-scale. Macro-scale models consider the overall wheel–workpiece interaction while micro-scale models focus on the individual grain–workpiece interactions. Each model is discussed and the relevant boundary conditions, material constitutive treatments, and load inputs are compared. Future directions for finite element grinding modeling are then recommended and, based on the results of this review, synthesized current state-of-the-art macro- and micro-scale modeling approaches are presented.  相似文献

Recent work on phase equilibria diagrams has shown that periclase can take R+3 (Cr+3, Al+3, and Fe+3) in solid solution at elevated temperatures. In order to retain electrical neutrality, 2R+3 and a vacancy replaces 3Mg+2 in the periclase lattices. When Li+1 is added to MgO/R2O3 compositions, one Li+1 and one R+3 replaces 2 Mg+2 to form a solid solution which is stable at room temperature. These periclase solid solutions are more stable under conditions of temperature fluctuations and hydration than periclase/R2O3 solid solutions without lithia.  相似文献

(−)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been reported to inhibit cellular proliferation and induce apoptosis in a range of cancer cells. This study examined the cytotoxicity of EGCG glucoside on human laryngeal epidermoid carcinoma Hep2 cells. The EGCG glucoside treatment decreased the cell viability in Hep2 cells. Furthermore, EGCG glucoside caused apoptotic morphological changes with chromatin condensation and nuclear fragmentation, as observed by a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay and activated caspase-3 immunohistochemisty. However, the EGCG glucoside did not induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), suggesting that oxidative stress is not involved in the apoptotic response. EGCG glucoside induces apoptosis in Hep2 cells through not the generation of ROS, but the activation of caspase-3.  相似文献

Novel and potent inhibitors of Plasmodium falciparum plasmepsin II were identified by post‐processing the results of a docking screening with BEAR, a recently reported procedure for the refinement and rescoring of docked ligands in virtual screening. FRET substrate degradation assays performed on the 30 most promising compounds resulted in 26 inhibitors with IC50 values ranging from 4.3 nM to 1.8 μM .

A gene encoding human intestinal maltase (HMA) was successfully expressed in Pichia pastoris under the control of the methanol-induced alcohol oxidase (AOX1) promoter. The secreted recombinant HMA fused with a His6-tag was produced (150 U/L) and was easily purified from culture supernatants in a 3-step diafiltration, ultrafiltration, and affinity column chromatography protocol. The specific activity of the purified HMA was 16.8 U/mg. Endoglycosidase H digestion of the protein showed that the recombinant HMA was N-glycosylated. The purified HMA was maximally active at pH 6.5 and stable (≥90%) up to 65°C. The kinetic parameters K m and V max were 3.3±0.25 mM maltose and 61.9±2 U/mg, respectively.  相似文献

Rate of legal body checking (hit rate) was targeted for change for each of two consecutive seasons for a university hockey team that had a chronic losing record. Following baseline recording (A), the interventions of publicly posted individual feedback (B), goal setting (C), and praise (D) were successively introduced "on-the-baseline" using a components-analysis research strategy. An analogous design and procedure was used the following season, with the exception that more intensive training was given to the coach on the delivery of praise. Overall, the mean hit rate increased 82% (excluding the highly talented senior players who initiated the first project application) and 141% (no exclusions), respectively, for the 2 years. Appreciably elevated levels of dextranase from Arthrobacter oxydans (AODex) isolated from sugar-cane farm soil was resulted from the culture on the Luria-Bertani (LB) medium containing 1%(w/v) soluble starch, glycerol, or dextran. The responsible gene (aodex) was cloned, its nucleotide sequence was determined, and expression of the encoded protein was achieved in Escherichia coli. An open reading frame was composed of 1,863 bp putatively encoding a 68.3 kDa protein. Recombinant A. oxydans dextranase (rAODex) was purified about 16 fold by nickel-nitrilotriacetic acid affinity column chromatography; K m value for dextran T2000 was 0.85 mg/mL (w/v). AODex treatment of stale sugar cane juice resulted in a yield of square and light-colored sugar crystals.  相似文献
