Cascaded Rayleigh distribution is used to model multipath fading in mobile-to-mobile communication scenarios and provides a better fit to experimental data in such scenarios compared to the conventional Rayleigh channel model. In this letter, we derive an exact expression for the pairwise error probability (PEP) of space-time trellis codes over the cascaded Rayleigh fading channel, which is in the form of a simple single finite-range integral. Through the derived PEP expression, we present the maximum diversity order achievable over such channels and demonstrate the performance degradation in comparison to conventional Rayleigh channels. Monte-Carlo simulations are further demonstrated to confirm the analytical results.  相似文献

Gain clamping in two-stage L-band EDFA using a broadband FBG   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A gain-clamped long wavelength band erbium-doped fiber amplifier (L-band EDFA) with an improved gain characteristic is demonstrated by simply adding a broadband conventional band (C-band) fiber Bragg grating (FBG) in a two-stage amplifier system. The FBG reflects backward C-band amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) from the second stage back into the system to clamp the gain. The gain is clamped at about 22.4 dB with a gain variation below 0.4 dB for input signal powers of -40 to -15 dBm. Compared with an unclamped amplifier of similar noise figure values, the small signal gain has improved by 2.4 dB due to the FBG which blocks the backward propagating ASE. At wavelengths from 1570 to 1600 nm, gain of the clamped amplifier varies from 19.4 to 26.7 dB. The corresponding noise figure varies by /spl plusmn/0.35 dB around 5 dB, which is not much different compared to that of the unclamped amplifier.  相似文献

In this letter, we investigate the shadowing effect on the performance of space-time codes, using the Rician-Nakagami channel model which has been recently introduced. Specifically, we derive an exact expression for the pairwise error probability (PEP) of space-time trellis codes over the Rician-Nakagami channel, which is in the form of a simple single finite-range integral. We also present numerical results how the PEP expressions for the Rician-Nakagami channel can be related to those for the classical Rician-lognormal channel based on the parameter transformation between these two models.  相似文献

A closed-loop power control (CLPC) scheme with a multistep (indicating multiple prediction steps) linear autoregressive predictor is presented. The proposed CLPC relies on low-rate sample vector based autoregressive prediction. Compared to currently available predictive CLCP schemes, it demonstrates particularly robust performance in the presence of large loop delays and channel estimation errors.  相似文献

Network on chip (NoC) has been proposed as an appropriate solution for today’s on-chip communication challenges. Power dissipation has become a key factor in the NoCs because of their shrinking sizes. In this paper, we propose a new encoding approach aimed at power reduction by decreasing the number of switching activities on the buses. This approach assigns the symbols to data word in such a way that the more frequent words are sent by less power consumption. This algorithm dedicates the symbols with less ones to high probability data and uses transition signaling to transmit data. The proposed method, unlike the existing low power encoding, does not rely on spatial redundancy and keeps the width of the bus constant. Experimental evaluations show that our approach reduces the power dissipation up to 46 % with 2.70, 0.51, and 15.43 % power, critical path and area overhead in the NoCs, respectively.  相似文献

A new double-pass long wavelength band erbium-doped fiber amplifier with enhanced noise figure characteristics is demonstrated by adding a short length of forward pumped erbium-doped fiber (EDF) in front of a double-pass amplifier. Compared with the conventional double-pass amplifier, the new amplifier provides noise figure improvement of about 0.8 to 6.0 dB over the flat-gain region from 1568 to 1600 nm. Since the optical circulator prevents the amplified signal and backward amplified spontaneous emission from propagating into the EDF, the population inversion of the input part of the amplifier is hardly affected by the intense lights, therefore, the noise figure could be kept low. The new double-pass system has achieved a flat-gain output at about 33.5 dB, which is 13.5 dB higher than that of the single-pass system with gain variation less than 1.3 dB at the flat-gain region. The noise figure varies from 5.9 to 6.6 dB in this region.  相似文献

In the present article, seven wheat cultivars (Ahmetaga, Bezostaya, Dagdas-94, Ekiz, Karahan-99, Konya-2002, and Tosunbey) grown in Turkey were compared for their phytochemical composition, antioxidant, and enzyme inhibitory activities. Antioxidant capacities and enzyme inhibitory effects were investigated with colorimetric methods. Total phenolic content ranged from 40.71 to 86.34 mg of gallic acid equivalent/100 g wheat grain. Tosunbey (92 mg Trolox equivalent/100 g wheat grain) and Ahmetaga (114.56 mg Trolox equivalent/100 g wheat grain) cultivars exhibited strong 2,2 azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazloine-6-sulfonic acid) and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging activities. As compared to other wheat cultivars, Tosunbey cultivar had remarkable both antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory effects with the highest level of phenolics. Ferulic acid, chlorogenic acid, and apigenin were the major phenolics in extracts tested. This study suggested that an increased intake of wheat derived products could represent an effective strategy for the management of oxidative stress related chronic and degenerative diseases such as Alzheimers and diabetes mellitus.  相似文献

White and red grape juices (GJs) were subjected to ultraviolet C (UV-C) light as a non-thermal preservation technology using a coiled tube UV-C reactor with nine lamps. The effects of UV-C light on microbial (total aerobic count and yeast and mould count) and some chemical quality characteristics (total phenolics, antioxidant capacity, anthocyanin and polymeric colour, etc.) of white and red GJs were investigated. The results were compared with control (untreated) and heat-treated juice samples. Single-pass UV-C treatment (12.6 J/mL) of white and red GJs resulted in 3.51 and 3.59 log reductions in total aerobic count and, 2.71 and 2.89 log reductions in yeast and mould counts, respectively. The microbial loads of both GJs were completely eliminated after two passes through the reactor (25.2 J/mL). After UV-C and heat treatments, there were no significant changes in antioxidant capacity, total phenolics, titratable acidity, soluble solids and pH of white and red GJs (P?>?0.05). The losses in monomeric anthocyanins were 6.1% and 8.7% after UV-C treatment of 12.6 and 25.2 J/mL doses, respectively. However, anthocyanin level of red GJ was significantly affected by the heat treatment with an 11.8% loss (P?<?0.05). The percent polymeric colour of the red GJ with heat treatment was significantly higher compared to the colour with the UV-C treatment.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to determine antioxidant capacities, neuroprotective, skin care, antidiabetic effects, and fatty acid composition of Anchusa undulata subsp. hybrida. The antioxidant activity was screened by four different test systems including total antioxidant, antiradical, reducing power, and metal chelating activities. Neuroprotective potential was determined by anticholinesterase inhibitor assay. Tyrosinase inhibitory activity was tested to detect skin care effect. Antidiabetic effects were evaluated with α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory assays. Inhibitory activities on acetycholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, tyrosinase, α-amylase, and α-glucosidase enzymes were observed as 2.238 and 1.239 μmol GALAEs/g, 0.339 mmol KAEs/g, 0.193, and 0.219 mmol ACEs/g extract, respectively. Amount of total phenolics and flavonoids were found as 80.34 μg GAEs/mg and 25.09 μg QEs/mg in the extract, respectively. Twenty-three fatty acids were found in the aerial parts, being oleic acid (24.30 g/100 g of total fatty acids) the most abundant, followed by linoleic (21.19 g/100 g of total fatty acids) and palmitic acids (17.50 g/100 g of total fatty acids).  相似文献
