The boiling hysteresis phenomenon is studied for a real scale enhanced evaporator tube (2 m long Turbo-B type) with R134a refrigerant used in the flooded evaporator of a centrifugal brine chiller for the ice-making facility. Unlike previous studies of the boiling heat transfer with uniform heat flux and uniform wall temperature, the wall temperature varies along the tube in the present experiment. To see if the similar hysteresis occurs as in the case of uniform wall temperature, a careful control of refrigerant temperature and heat flux is made. We have found hysteresis of the temperature overshoot (TOS) at the onset of nucleate boiling initially at the inlet section of the tube, before it gradually moved downstream section of the tube until the nucleate boiling occupied the whole section of the tube as the inlet temperature increased. The hysteresis became stronger at low refrigerant temperatures. The decreasing trend of heat flux after the contents of the whole tube boiled was different from the increasing trend. This paper provides a guideline how to design the evaporator in order to avoid the abnormal operation of the chillers. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: Crystalline Co nanoparticles were hybridized with single-crystalline Bi nanowires simply by annealing Co-coated Bi nanowires at elevated temperatures. An initially near-amorphous Co film of 2-7 nm in thickness began to disrupt its morphology and to be locally transformed into crystallites in the early stage of annealing. The Co film became discontinuous after prolonged annealing, finally leading to isolated, crystalline Co nanoparticles of 8-27 nm in size. This process spontaneously proceeds to reduce the high surface tension and total energy of Co film. The annealing time required for Co nanoparticle formation decreased as annealing temperature increased, reflecting that this transformation occurs by the diffusional flow of Co atoms. The Co nanoparticle formation process was explained by a hole agglomeration and growth mechanism, which is similar to the model suggested by Brandon and Bradshaw, followed by the nanoparticle refinement. 相似文献

Polyimide (PI)/modified layered double hydroxide (m‐LDH) nanocomposites were prepared in this study. For this work, m‐LDHs were prepared from layered double hydroxides (LDHs) through an anionic exchange reaction with pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA), succinic acid or terephthalic acid. PMDA and 4,4′‐oxydianiline were used to make the poly(amic acid) precursor for PI. X‐ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy measurements confirmed that the PMDA‐modified LDH (PMH) and terephthalic acid‐modified LDH (TMH) were well dispersed in the PI matrix. For the succinic acid‐modified LDH, some of the LDH was intercalated with the succinic acid molecules but most maintained its original structure. Thus, the PI/PMH and PI/TMH nanocomposites exhibited improved mechanical, thermal and electrical properties compared to pure PI. The PMH has aromatic groups and is expected to have better π–π interactions with the PI chains than the other m‐LDHs. Thus, the PI/PMH nanocomposites exhibited the best properties among the nanocomposites investigated. Copyright © 2010 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

An eigenvalue analysis of the circular Mindlin plates with free boundary conditions is presented. The analysis is based on
the Chebyshev-Fourier pseudospectral method. Even though the eigenvalues of lower vibration modes tend to convergence more
slowly than those of higher vibration modes, the eigenvalues converge for sufficiently fine pseudospectral grid resolutions.
The eigenvalues of the axisymmetric modes are computed separately. Numerical results are provided for different grid resolutions

A study of free vibration of rectangular Mindlin plates is presented. The analysis is based on the Chebyshev pseudospectral
method, which uses test functions that satisfy the boundary conditions as basis functions. The result shows that rapid convergence
and accuracy as well as the conceptual simplicity are achieved when the pseudospectral method is applied to the solution of
eigenvalue problems. Numerical examples of rectangular Mindlin plates with clamped and simply supported boundary conditions

This study investigates the (de)mobilizing influences of political (dis)agreement in the news and in political discussion on political attitudes and participation in new information environments. Results demonstrate the mediating functions of political ambivalence in that exposure to proattitudinal news reduces ambivalence and thereby promotes political participation, whereas exposure to counter-attitudinal news increases ambivalence and thereby discourages participation. Importantly, the effect of exposure to counter-attitudinal news on ambivalence was moderated by heterogeneous discussion networks on social network sites, such that the combination of exposure to counter-attitudinal news and to heterogeneous discussion networks amplifies ambivalence additively, and thereby augments the tendency toward demobilization. These results are interpreted as suggesting that changing media contexts may lead to complex roles of news and political discussion. 相似文献

Frequent Interaction and Fast Feedback Predict Perceived Social Support: Using Crawled and Self‐Reported Data of Facebook Users 下载免费PDF全文
The present study examines if Facebooking can contribute to psychological well‐being and if so, which aspects of Facebook use could play a significant role. Matching crawled data with self‐reported data from mobile Facebook users, we found that more social interactions with Facebook friends and faster friends' reactions to a user's post contributed toFacebook user's perceived social support and ultimately alleviated loneliness. We also found that the association between frequency as well as speed of Facebook social interactions and psychological well‐being were more significant among those who were sensitive to other's behaviors and feelings than those who were not. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings, particularly regarding mobile communication context, are also discussed. 相似文献

A study of buckling and free vibration of rectangular Mindlin plates is presented. The analysis is based on the pseudospectral
method, which uses basis functions that satisfy the boundary conditions. The equations of motion are collocated to yield a
set of algebraic equations that are solved for the critical buckling load and for the natural frequencies in the presence
of the in-plane loads. Numerical examples of rectangular plates with SS-C-SS-C boundary conditions are provided for various
aspect ratios and thickness ratios, which show good agreement with those of the classical plate theory when the thickness
ratio is very small.

A non-ideal boundary condition is modeled as a linear combination of the ideal simply supported and the ideal clamped boundary conditions with the weighting factors k and 1-k, respectively. The proposed non-ideal boundary model is applied to the free vibration analyses of Euler-Bernoulli beam and Timoshenko beam. The free vibration analysis of the Euler-Bernoulli beam is carried out analytically, and the pseudospectral method is employed to accommodate the non-ideal boundary conditions in the analysis of the free vibration of Timoshenko beam. For the free vibration with the non-ideal boundary condition at one end and the free boundary condition at the other end, the natural frequencies of the beam decrease as k increases. The free vibration where both the ends of a beam are restrained by the non-ideal boundary conditions is also considered. It is found that when the non-ideal boundary conditions are close to the ideal clamped boundary conditions the natural frequencies are reduced noticeably as k increases. When the non-ideal boundary conditions are close to the ideal simply supported boundary conditions, however, the natural frequencies hardly change as k varies, which indicate that the proposed boundary condition model is more suitable to the non-ideal boundary condition close to the ideal clamped boundary condition. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of sowthistle (Ixeris dentata, IXD) on development and expression of nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization and underlying neuronal activation reflected by c-Fos expression in rats. Rats were pretreated with IXD 30 min before a daily injection of nicotine during an 8-day development phase and then challenged with nicotine after a 6-day withdrawal period. In another set of experiments, same IXD doses were administered once 30 min before nicotine challenge. Daily IXD treatment during development phase was not effective in blocking nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization in rats. However, a single IXD treatment after the development and withdrawal periods of nicotine sensitization significantly alleviated sensitized locomotor behavior on day 15. These behavioral results were coincident with significant inhibition of nicotineinduced c-Fos expression in the nucleus accumbens. These results indicated that IXD pretreatment significantly blocked the expression, but not the development of nicotine-induced locomotor sensitization in rats. 相似文献
