Radar reflectivity in snowfall   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Backscattering properties of dry snowflakes at different microwave frequencies are examined. It is shown that the Rayleigh approximation does not often provide the necessary accuracy for snowflake reflectivity calculations for radar wavelengths used in meteorology; however, another simple approximation, the Rayleigh-Gans approximation, can be safely used for such calculations. Reflectivity-snowfall rate relationships are derived for different snow densities and different radar frequencies. It is shown that dual-wavelength radar measurements can be used for estimating the effective sizes of snowflakes. Experimental data obtained during radar snowfall measurements in the WISP project of 1991 with the NOAA X- and Ka-band radars are found to be consistent with the described theoretical results  相似文献

Conclusions The favorable effect of doping with carbonitride-forming elements-vanadium, niobium, and titanium — on the structure and properties of low-pearlite steels subjected to controlled rolling is due to the change of the structural state of hot-deformed austenite, of the temperature range and nature of the -transformation, of the phase composition of the steel, and of the state of the -solid solution caused by the alloying with these elements.The ambiguous effect of doping with vanadium, niobium, and titanium on the strength and ductile properties of low-pearlite steel is due to the different degree of dispersion hardening, refinement of the ferrite grain, refinement of the solid solution, the ratio of the structural components, and the nature of the products of the -transformation.The newly devised economically alloyed low-pearlite steel 09G2FB for gas pipes with large diameter after controlled rolling with deformation at the concluding stage in the biphase +-region has a unique complex of mechanical properties satisfying the stringent requirements concening pipes intended for operation under conditions of the Far North.I. An improvement of NbTi alloy functional properties by equal-channel multi-angle pressing (ECMAP) combined with hydrostatic extrusion, drawing and thermal treatment is revealed. The ECMAP method allows to increase the billet accumulated deformation with preserving its initial dimensions. The formed highly dispersed and homogeneous nanocrystalline structure with a more uniform distribution of α-phase precipitations as a result of ECMAP treatment improves the functional properties of the alloy. In the field of 5 T, the critical current density in wire samples produced with application of the ECMAP method is enhanced approximately by a factor of 2 in comparison with the values obtained for the samples produced without the ECMAP treatment.  相似文献

The compression of ceramic (corundum) tubes by the detonation products of explosives have been studied experimentally and numerically. The formation of the shaped-charge jet of ceramic particles and its effect on steel witnesses targets has been investigated. The tubes were produced by detonation spraying. Ceramic particles were deposited on copper tubes, which were then dissolved in a solution of ferric chloride. In the experiments, a considerable penetration of the flow of ceramic particles was observed. During the interaction of the flow with the target, the target material was partially evaporated, as shown by metallographic analysis. Numerical analysis of the formation of the discrete shaped-charge jet showed that the maximum velocity of the jet head was about 23 km/s, and the velocity of the main part of the jet was about 14 km/s.  相似文献

The effect of shell material (copper and silicon carbide) on the detonation of a cylindrical explosive charge was analyzed. The wave patterns in the detonation products and the shells are substantially different, which is due to different sound velocities and the rapid destruction of the ceramic under explosive loading. The wave pattern at the explosive/ceramic interface was found to be affected by desensitization of the explosive due to its loading by an advancing wave from the shell side, resulting in a decrease in pressure, blurring of the detonation front, and an increase in particle velocity. Throughout the process, there is a continuous increase in the time of explosive decomposition near the interface between the explosive and the ceramic shell. An extended region with a constant pressure close to the Chapman–Jouguet pressure was observed on the axis of symmetry behind the detonation front of the explosive charge in the ceramic shell.  相似文献

The phase composition and mechanical properties of rolled thick sheets from pipe steel 05G1MB produced by different modes of controlled rolling with accelerated cooling are studied. The effects of the temperature and deformation regime, of the final rolling temperature, and of the temperature of the start of accelerated cooling on the phase composition of the rolled sheets are considered. The temperature range in which intense reduction during rolling should be avoided in order to keep niobium in the solid solution of the γ-phase and to ensure subsequent segregation of fine niobium carbides in ferrite is determined.  相似文献
