In the sleep deprivation/chlorimipramine group a quick and long-lasting remission of depressive symptoms could be demonstrated. The influence of sedative, anaesthetic and neuromuscular blocking drugs on diagnostic urethral pressure profiles and cystometrograms has been investigated. These agents have marked effects on the results obtained; in particular, the urethral pressure profile was raised by opiates and lowered by anaesthetic induction agents. Bladder capacity as measured by the cystometrogram was greatly increased by halothane. These findings indicate that urodynamic studies should be performed only on conscious unsedated patients. 相似文献

Influence of surface potential on aggregation and transport of titania nanoparticles 总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
To investigate the effect of pH on nanoparticle aggregation and transport in porous media, we quantified nanoparticle transport in two-dimensional structures. Titania was used as a model compound to explore the effects of surface potential on particle mobility in the subsurface. Results show that pH, and therefore, surface potential and aggregate size, dominate nanoparticle interactions with each other and surfaces. In each solution, nanoparticle aggregate size distributions were bimodal or trimodal, and aggregate sizes increased as the pH approached the pH of the point of zero charge (pHzpc). Over 80% of suspended particles and aggregates were mobile over the pH range of 1-12, except close to the pHzpc of the surfaces, where the particles are highly aggregated. The effect of pH on transport is not symmetric around the pHzpc of the particles due to charging of the channel surfaces. However, transport speed of nanoparticle aggregates did not vary with pH. The surface element integration technique, which takes into account the effect of curvature of particles on interaction energy, was used to evaluate the ability of theory to predict nanoparticle transport. 相似文献

The peptidoglycan cortex of endospores of Bacillus species is required for maintenance of spore dehydration and dormancy, and the structure of the cortex may also allow it to function in attainment of spore core dehydration. A significant difference between spore and growing cell peptidoglycan structure is the low degree of peptide cross-linking in cortical peptidoglycan; regulation of the degree of this cross-linking is exerted by D,D-carboxypeptidases. We report here the construction of mutant B. subtilis strains lacking all combinations of two and three of the four apparent D, D-carboxypeptidases encoded within the genome and the analysis of spore phenotypic properties and peptidoglycan structure for these strains. The data indicate that while the dacA and dacC products have no significant role in spore peptidoglycan formation, the dacB and dacF products both function in regulating the degree of cross-linking of spore peptidoglycan. The spore peptidoglycan of a dacB dacF double mutant was very highly cross-linked, and this structural modification resulted in a failure to achieve normal spore core dehydration and a decrease in spore heat resistance. A model for the specific roles of DacB and DacF in spore peptidoglycan synthesis is proposed. 相似文献

Paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) toxins are produced by certain dinoflagellate species such as Gymnodinium catenatum and Alexandrium tamarensis, during certain periods of the year influenced by several environmental factors, affecting the aquaculture industry and mainly bivalve molluscs. HPLC with fluorescence detection is a powerful analytical technique for the analysis of such toxins; several HPLC alternatives have been developed in order to improve the liquid chromatographic analysis, but due to the complexity of the sample matrix, important work has been focused recently on the clean-up of samples prior to HPLC analysis. Solid-phase extraction procedures offer advantages for this clean-up. In this work we focus on the study of three different clean-up methods prior to HPLC with fluorescence detection analysis of PSP toxin present in contaminated mussel samples; by spiking uncontaminated mussel samples with two different PSP toxin standards and by calculating the recovery values for these experiments. These recoveries must be taken into account in order to quantify the exact amount of PSP toxins present in the contaminated samples. 相似文献

Two patients with proven 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-associated cardiotoxicity were treated with the specific thymidylate synthase inhibitor raltitrexed safely, without evidence of cardiotoxicity. Raltitrexed might be an alternative for patients with advanced colorectal cancer and 5-FU-associated cardiotoxicity. 5-FU cardiotoxicity is not due to the antineoplastic mechanisms via thymidilate synthase. 相似文献
