Transaction processing performance council benchmark C (TPC-C) is the de facto standard for evaluating the performance of high-end computers running on-line transaction processing applications. Differing from other standard benchmarks, the transaction processing performance council only defines specifications for the TPC-C benchmark, but does not provide any standard implementation for end-users. Due to the complexity of the TPC-C workload, it is a challenging task to obtain optimal performance for TPC-C evaluation on a large-scale high-end computer. In this paper, we designed and implemented a large-scale TPC-C evaluation system based on the latest TPC-C specification using solid-state drive (SSD) storage devices. By analyzing the characteristics of the TPC-C workload, we propose a series of system-level optimization methods to improve the TPC-C performance. First, we propose an approach based on SmallFile table space to organize the test data in a round-robin method on all of the disk array partitions; this can make full use of the underlying disk arrays. Second, we propose using a NOOP-based disk scheduling algorithm to reduce the utilization rate of processors and improve the average input/output service time. Third, to improve the system translation lookaside buffer hit rate and reduce the processor overhead, we take advantage of the huge page technique to manage a large amount of memory resources. Lastly, we propose a locality-aware interrupt mapping strategy based on the asymmetry characteristic of non-uniform memory access systems to improve the system performance. Using these optimization methods, we performed the TPC-C test on two large-scale high-end computers using SSD arrays. The experimental results show that our methods can effectively improve the TPC-C performance. Oxygen sensing films were synthesized by a chemical conjugation of functional platinum porphyrin probes in silica gel, polystyrene (PS), and poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) matrices. Responses of the sensing films to gaseous oxygen and dissolved oxygen were studied and the influence of the matrices on the sensing behaviors was investigated. Silica gel films had the highest fluorescence intensity ratio from deoxygenated to oxygenated environments and the fastest response time to oxygen. PHEMA films had no response to gaseous oxygen, but had greater sensitivity and a faster response time for dissolved oxygen than those of PS films. The influence of matrices on oxygen response, sensitivity and response time was discussed. The influence is most likely attributed to the oxygen diffusion abilities of the matrices. Since the probes were chemically immobilized in the matrices, no leaching of the probes was observed from the sensing films when applied in aqueous environment. One sensing film made from the PHEMA matrix was used to preliminarily monitor the oxygen consumption of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. E. coli cell density and antibiotics ampicillin concentration dependent oxygen consumption was observed, indicating the potential application of the oxygen sensing film for biological application. 相似文献

In order to unclose the dynamics of SPS densification, a special sintering sample (Cul Ti wires compact) was designed. Characters of the shrinkage rates during sintering process and mierostructures of products fabrieated by the spark plasma sintering( SPS ) and hot-press .sintering were investigated. The experimental results reveal that a higher temperature field is formed at the connected area and conductive net of the compact. These high-temperature parts deformed more easily than other parts, which is believed to be the main cause of SPS fast densification, according to a hard-core and soft-hell material model. 相似文献

The structure factor and the coordination numbers of liquid Al–Si alloys with different Si content have been measured by a high temperature X-ray diffractometer. Radial distribution functions (RDFs), the nearest atomic distance and the coordination numbers of eutectic Al–Si alloys before and after being modified with Sr and Sb were studied. The RDFs of the liquid alloy were decomposed by five Gaussian peaks. The results show that a Si–Si covalent bond exists in the liquid of eutectic and hyper-eutectic alloys. Sr in the liquid Al–Si has a capability to weaken the covalent bonds of Si–Si, suppressing the nucleation of the eutectic silicon phase. On the other hand, Sb in the liquid Al–Si increases the order degree of Si atoms, decreasing the supercooling degree of the nucleation and promoting the nucleation of eutectic silicon. 相似文献
