CASE (Computer Aided Software/Systems Engineering) tools are claimed to increase the productivity of systems development and the quality of developed systems. Existing empirical research on CASE effectiveness is entirely based on subjective, perceptual data. In order to interpret the existing evidence, it is useful to understand factors affecting these perceptions. This paper studies the impact of demographic variables such as education and experience, CASE adoption process variables such as training and participation, and CASE product variables such as perceived trialability, perceived complexity, perceived demonstrability and perceived compatibility on CASE effectiveness perceptions such as relative advantage, quality and productivity of systems development and work unit effects. Results based on a survey of 105 individual CASE users show that these effectiveness criteria are highly intercorrelated and that CASE experience, participation in CASE selection and implementation, perceived quality and quantity of training, and especially perceived complexity affect CASE effectiveness perceptions. 相似文献

The present study analyzes the mechanisms and facilitators behind joint learning in R&D collaborations by way of a qualitative comparative case study analyzing three supplier relationships and three internal R&D partnerships of the focal organization. The results suggest a single joint learning process for internal and external relationships in which the role of the customer and the facilitation of the joint learning process vary depending on the context. Whereas the role of motivation is central for joint learning in the internal relationships, mutual trust is important to the external relationships. 相似文献

Research assessment can be based either on expert evaluation or bibliometric evaluation. This opinion paper evaluates pros and cons of these two approaches, concluding that they are complementary approaches. Towards a distinctive body of knowledge for Information Systems experts: coding ISD process knowledge in two IS journals 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1
Abstract. This paper introduces the idea of coding a practically relevant body of knowledge (BoK) in Information Systems (IS) that could have major benefits for the field. In its main part, the paper focuses on the question if and how an underlying body of action-oriented knowledge for IS experts could be distilled from the IS research literature. For this purpose the paper identifies five knowledge areas as the most important parts for an IS expert's BoK. Two of these are claimed as distinct areas of competence for IS experts: IS application knowledge and IS development (ISD) process knowledge. The paper focuses particularly on ISD process knowledge because it allows the organizing of practically relevant IS knowledge in an action-oriented way. The paper presents some evidence for the claim that a considerable body of practically relevant IS process knowledge might, indeed, exist, but also notes that it is highly dispersed in the IS literature. It then argues that the IS research community should take stock of this knowledge and organize it in an action-oriented way. Based on results from prior work it proposes a four-level hierarchical coding scheme for this purpose. In order to test the idea of coding action-oriented knowledge for IS experts, the paper reports the results of a coded literature analysis of ISD research articles published from 1996 to 2000 in two leading IS journals – Information Systems Journal and MIS Quarterly. The results suggest that ISD approaches form a useful framework for organizing practically relevant IS knowledge. 相似文献

Impurity–helium (Im–He) solids are porous materials formed inside superfluid 4He by nanoclusters of impurities injected from the gas phase. The results of studies of these materials have relevance to
soft condensed matter physics, matrix isolation of free radicals and low temperature chemistry. Recent studies by a variety
of experimental techniques, including CW and pulse ESR, X-ray diffraction, ultrasound and Raman spectroscopy allow a better
characterization of the properties of Im–He solids. The structure of Im–He solids, the trapping sites of stabilized atoms
and the possible energy content of the samples are analyzed on the basis of experimental data. The kinetics of exchange tunneling
reactions of hydrogen isotopes in nanoclusters and the changes of environment of the atoms during the course of these reactions
are reviewed. Analysis of the ESR data shows that very large fraction of the stabilized atoms in Im–He solids reside on the
surfaces of impurity nanoclusters. The future directions for studying Im–He solids are described. Among the most attractive
are the studies of Im–He solids with high concentrations of stabilized atoms at ultralow (10–20 mK) temperature for the observation
of new collective quantum phenomena, the studies of practical application of Im–He solids as a medium in neutron moderator
for efficient production of ultracold (∼1 mK) neutrons, and the possibilities of obtaining high concentration of atomic nitrogen
embedded in N2 clusters for energy storage. 相似文献

Innovations in network technologies in the 1990's have provided new ways to store and organize information to be shared by people and various information systems. The term Enterprise Content Management (ECM) has been widely adopted by software product vendors and practitioners to refer to technologies used to manage the content of assets like documents, web sites, intranets, and extranets In organizational or inter-organizational contexts. Despite this practical interest ECM has received only little attention in the information systems research community. This editorial argues that ECM provides an important and complex subfield of Information Systems. It provides a framework to stimulate and guide future research, and outlines research issues specific to the field of ECM. 相似文献
