Capillary-driven self-alignment using droplets is currently extensively investigated for self-assembly and microassembly technology. In this technique, surface tension forces associated to capillary pinning create restoring forces and torques that tend to bring the moving part into the alignment. So far, most studies have addressed the problem of square chip alignment on a dedicated patch of a wafer, aiming to achieve 3D microelectronics. In this study, we investigate the shift-restoring forces for more complex moving parts such as regular—convex and non-convex—polygons and regular polygons with regular polygonal cavities. A closed-form approximate expression is derived for each of these polygonal geometries; this expression agrees with the numerical results obtained with the Surface Evolver software. For small shifts, it is found that the restoring force does not depend on the shift direction or on the polygonal shape. In order to tackle the problem of microsystem packaging, an extension of the theory is done for polygonal shapes pierced with connection vias (channels), and a closed form of the shift-restoring force is derived for these geometries and again checked against the numerical model. In this case, the restoring force depends on the shift direction. Finally, a non-dimensional number, the shift number, is proposed that indicates the isotropic or anisotropic behavior of the chip according to the shift direction.  相似文献

We report on the progress of imec's n‐type passivated emitter, rear totally diffused rear junction silicon solar cells. Selective laser doping has been introduced in the flow, allowing the implementation of a shallow diffused front surface field and a reduction of the recombination current in the contact area. Simplifications have been implemented towards a more industrial annealing sequence, by replacing expensive forming gas annealing steps with a belt furnace annealing. By applying these improvements, together with an advanced texturing process and emitter passivation by atomic layer deposition of Al2O3, 22.5% efficient cells (three busbars) have been realized on commercial 156 · 156 mm2 Czochralski‐Si. We describe the design of a microwave oscillator using resonant tunneling diodes. The devices are fabricated from Al0.3Ga0.7As-GaAs double barrier hetero-structures grown by molecular beam epitaxy. Design criteria improving current drivability are established from a theoretical study of tunneling transmission probabilities. Very high peak current densities up to 3.104 A/cm2, favorable for high frequency operation as an oscillator, have been achieved experimentally. The devices exhibit stable oscillations at liquid nitrogen temperature and at room temperature when the tunnel diode oscillator is constructed with a stabilizing network.  相似文献

The recycling process toward the elimination of varistor wastes into new electro‐active silicon composites has been investigated. We studied the dependence of the EJ characteristics on the aggregate content in the polymer matrix. Formulations with 40 vol.% metal oxide varistor aggregates in the 100‐200 μm range exhibit reliable nonlinear behavior with a switching voltage of 280±30 V/mm. The breakdown voltage of the composite decreases as both filler's diameter and filler's volume fraction increases in the 550‐220 V/mm and 440‐280 V/mm range, respectively. This paves the way for the valorization of varistors based zinc oxide (ZnO) ceramics.  相似文献

Maternal smoking is a risk factor of preterm prelabor rupture of the fetal membranes (pPROM), which is responsible for 30% of preterm births worldwide. Cigarettes induce oxidative stress and inflammation, mechanisms both implicated in fetal membranes (FM) weakening. We hypothesized that the receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE) and its ligands can result in cigarette-dependent inflammation. FM explants and amniotic epithelial cells (AECs) were treated with cigarette smoke condensate (CSC), combined or not with RAGE antagonist peptide (RAP), an inhibitor of RAGE. Cell suffering was evaluated by measuring lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) medium-release. Extracellular HMGB1 (a RAGE ligand) release by amnion and choriodecidua explants were checked by western blot. NF-κB pathway induction was determined by a luciferase gene reporter assay, and inflammation was evaluated by cytokine RT-qPCR and protein quantification. Gelatinase activity was assessed using a specific assay. CSC induced cell suffering and HMGB1 secretion only in the amnion, which is directly associated with a RAGE-dependent response. CSC also affected AECs by inducing inflammation (cytokine release and NFκB activation) and gelatinase activity through RAGE engagement, which was linked to an increase in extracellular matrix degradation. This RAGE dependent CSC-induced inflammation associated with an increase of gelatinase activity could explain a pathological FM weakening directly linked to pPROM.  相似文献

We have studied the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) of Zr1-xCexO2 and Ce1-xLaxO2-x/2 initially to grow buffer layers for perovskite films deposited on Si, LaAlO3, SrTiO3 and MgO and then to produce tunneling barriers for cuprate or manganite heterostructures. On (1 0 0) Si, the deposition of Zr1-xCexO2 (x = 0.12) produces a smooth epitaxial layer (R RMS = 0.25/1m2), which allows the further deposition of high quality YBa2Cu3O7 (Tc 88 K) and La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 films. On the other hand, the use of Ce1-xLaxO2-x/2 (0 x 0.4) makes it possible to match the YBa2Cu3O7 and La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 layers to various substrates. The buffer layers are epitaxially grown with a 45° rotation of the in-plane axes with respect to those of the substrate, and the smoothness is high (R RMS = 0.25/1m2). In the case of an ultra-thin barrier (2.5 nm) of Ce1-xLaxO2-x/2 sandwiched in a La0.7Sr0.3MnO3, the out-of-plane mismatch of 2 induces distortions at the interface steps, which propagate into the topmost La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 layer. This is in contrast to the case of SrTiO3 barriers where an ideal crystal continuity in the growth direction is observed.  相似文献

This study investigates the role of the polymeric binder on the properties and performance of an intumescent coating. Waterborne resins of different types (vinylic, acrylic, and styrene-acrylic) were incorporated in an intumescent paint formulation, and characterized extensively in terms of thermal degradation behavior, intumescence thickness, and thermal insulation. Thermal microscopy images of charred foam development provided further information on the particular performance of each type of coating upon heating. The best foam expansion and heat protection results were obtained with the vinyl binders. Rheological measurements showed a complex evolution of the viscoelastic characteristics of the materials with temperature. As an example, the vinyl binders unexpectedly hardened significantly after thermal degradation. The values of storage moduli obtained at the onset of foam blowing (melamine decomposition) were used to explain different intumescence expansion behaviors.  相似文献

Texture mapping is an essential component for creating 3D models and is widely used in both the game and the movie industries. Creating texture maps has always been a complex task and existing methods carefully balance flexibility with ease of use. One difficulty in using texturing is the repeated placement of individual textures over larger areas. In this paper, we propose a method which uses decals to place images onto a model. Our method allows the decals to compete for space and to deform as they are being pushed by other decals. A spherical field function is used to determine the position and the size of each decal and the deformation applied to fit the decals. The decals may span multiple objects with heterogeneous representations. Our method does not require an explicit parametrization of the model. As such, varieties of patterns, including repeated patterns like rocks, tiles and scales can be mapped. We have implemented the method using the GPU where placement, size and orientation of thousands of decals are manipulated in real time.  相似文献

High-Quality Adaptive Soft Shadow Mapping   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
The recent soft shadow mapping technique [ [GBP06] ] allows the rendering in real-time of convincing soft shadows on complex and dynamic scenes using a single shadow map. While attractive, this method suffers from shadow overestimation and becomes both expensive and approximate when dealing with large penumbrae. This paper proposes new solutions removing these limitations and hence providing an efficient and practical technique for soft shadow generation. First, we propose a new visibility computation procedure based on the detection of occluder contours, that is more accurate and faster while reducing aliasing. Secondly, we present a shadow map multi-resolution strategy keeping the computation complexity almost independent on the light size while maintaining high-quality rendering. Finally, we propose a view-dependent adaptive strategy, that automatically reduces the screen resolution in the region of large penumbrae, thus allowing us to keep very high frame rates in any situation.  相似文献
