We carried out a study of neutrino detection at the experimental fast reactor JOYO using a 0.76 tons gadolinium loaded liquid scintillator detector. The detector was set up on the ground level at 24.3 m from the JOYO reactor core of 140 MW thermal power. The measured neutrino event rate from reactor on-off comparison was 1.11±1.24(stat.)±0.46(syst.) events/day. Although the statistical significance of the measurement was not enough, backgrounds in such a compact detector at the ground level were studied in detail and MC simulations were found to describe the data well. A solid‐liquid fluidized bed of inert particles can be used to separate pure objects from a mixture. Pieces of plastic sheet were selected as the objects to be separated. To estimate the separation characteristics, the behavior of pieces of plastic sheet in the bed was examined experimentally. Slow stirring was used to improve the fluidization state of the bed. The object size and the volume ratio of objects to inert particles were varied. The use of stirring of the bed was effective in improving the fluidization state of the bed, and the objects, which sank in the bed without stirring, moved from the bottom to the upper portion of the bed at a certain liquid velocity. This liquid velocity increases with decreasing object size, and it also increases as the volume ratio of objects to inert particles in the bed increases. When the volume ratio of objects to inert particles is too high, the objects are distributed throughout the entire bed, regardless of the liquid velocity. 相似文献

We have developed the source-heterojunction-MOS-transistor (SHOT), a novel high-speed MOSFET with relaxed-SiGe/strained-Si heterojunction source structures for quasi-ballistic or full-ballistic transistors. Using the band-offset energy at the source SiGe/strained-Si heterojunction, high velocity electrons can be injected into the strained-Si channel from the SiGe source region. For the first time, we have experimentally demonstrated that the transconductance is enhanced in SHOT for high applied drain voltage, compared to that of strained- and conventional silicon-on-insulator MOSFETs. We have also shown that the transconductance enhancement in SHOT depends on both the gate drive and the drain bias. 相似文献

The segregation growth process in sputtered Co-Cr films is investigated by examining the effect of substrate temperature on the segregated microstructure and magnetic properties. In sputtered Co-25at%Cr films, segregation occurs below 560°C, and both the saturation magnetization and the perpendicular anisotropy constant show a maximum around a substrate temperature of 300°C, where a specific microstructure, called a CP (chrysanthemum-like pattern) structure, is observed. The results suggest that the CP structure becomes observable in the highly segregated state and generates high perpendicular anisotropy. A new segregation growth model is derived from the results of the CP structure observations. Using this model, it is possible to explain the continuous transition of the magnetization mode between the continuous and the particulate modes. 相似文献

We report a case of kappa-AL amyloidosis which rapidly developed hepatic failure in a 79-year-old Japanese female who was admitted to our hospital because of abdominal distension and loss of appetite. Laboratory examination revealed a marked deterioration of liver function with cholestasis and monoclonal gammapathy. At the time that the diagnosis of IgG-kappa type multiple myeloma was made, jaundice was advanced, with continuous gastrointestinal bleeding. The patient died of hepatic failure 2 weeks after admission. Needle biopsy of the liver revealed a diffuse, massive deposition of amyloid protein. 相似文献

Tokyo Metropolitan government has decided to make the maximum possible use of the existing facilities while ensuring safety against inundation and to promote measures also from a software approach by introducing a system capable of minimizing combined sewer overflow, the real-time control system (RTC). A pilot RTC system was installed in August 2002 for the Shinozaki Pumping Station. The RTC system monitors the precipitation volume and the water level in the pipe. Simulations were carried out on the basis of these data. From the results, it was found that with the use of the RTC it is possible to reduce CSO by roughly 50% for small rainfalls with a total precipitation level of 20 mm or less by strong rainwater in the pipe routes at the beginning of the rain. It has also been shown that CSO can be reduced by about 80% through the use of rainfall forecasting. 相似文献
