Quadrifilar helix antenna (QHA) has its applications in satellite communications. This paper presents the performance optimisation of input and radiation characteristics of QHA in the presence of infinite and finite metallic ground planes. For the infinite ground plane, it has been observed that input parameters such as impedance and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) are stable, and the antenna has broader half power beamwidth (HPBW). Smaller metallic platforms that act as finite ground planes produce better 3‐dB axial ratio beamwidth and boresight axial ratio. Deployment of QHA on smaller metallic platforms such as nanosatellites and CubeSats enhances the circularly polarised beamwidth of the antenna with improved boresight axial ratio. However, on large low earth orbit (LEO) satellites, stable input characteristics and broader HPBW have been achieved at the cost of narrow circularly polarised beamwidth and degraded boresight axial ratio.  相似文献

Lithium–CO2 batteries are attractive energy‐storage systems for fulfilling the demand of future large‐scale applications such as electric vehicles due to their high specific energy density. However, a major challenge with Li–CO2 batteries is to attain reversible formation and decomposition of the Li2CO3 and carbon discharge products. A fully reversible Li–CO2 battery is developed with overall carbon neutrality using MoS2 nanoflakes as a cathode catalyst combined with an ionic liquid/dimethyl sulfoxide electrolyte. This combination of materials produces a multicomponent composite (Li2CO3/C) product. The battery shows a superior long cycle life of 500 for a fixed 500 mAh g?1 capacity per cycle, far exceeding the best cycling stability reported in Li–CO2 batteries. The long cycle life demonstrates that chemical transformations, making and breaking covalent C? O bonds can be used in energy‐storage systems. Theoretical calculations are used to deduce a mechanism for the reversible discharge/charge processes and explain how the carbon interface with Li2CO3 provides the electronic conduction needed for the oxidation of Li2CO3 and carbon to generate the CO2 on charge. This achievement paves the way for the use of CO2 in advanced energy‐storage systems.  相似文献

With the growing needs of data across the world, it almost hard to live without data a day. This is almost a blessing in disguise for the researchers working on different domains and dealing with huge amounts of data. The fog computing concept is aiming to change the scenarios created by cloud computing environments and also to make the data‐centric clouds decentralized and localized. Fog devices contain only specific information that is frequently used in it and generally the size of the data in fog device is very less in comparison with cloud server. Fog stores only those data, which are frequently used by the users, rest it takes from the cloud itself. The motivation toward this field to make the data flow in various domain seamless and hassle free. Fog computing can be thought as an intermediate between the users and the cloud server, which connects end users easily and thus reduces the latency of the services. This paper discusses the three layered data flow architecture for fog computing and it proposes several novel architectures such as energy lattices, MediFog, UXFog, connected parking system, and FoAgro to utilize the concept of fog computing.  相似文献

This paper contributes to extend the minimax disparity to determine the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) model based on linear programming. It introduces the minimax disparity approach between any distinct pairs of the weights and uses the duality of linear programming to prove the feasibility of the extended OWA operator weights model. Recently, many regression models have been presented for prediction of mechanical parameters of rocks regarding to rock index properties. Although statistical analysis is a common method for developing regression models, but still selection of suitable transformation of the independent variables in a regression model is difficult. In this paper, a genetic algorithm (GA) has been employed as a heuristic search method for selection of best transformation of the independent variables (some index properties of rocks) in regression models for prediction of uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and modulus of elasticity (E). Firstly, multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis was performed on a data set to establish predictive models. Then, two GA models were developed in which root mean squared error (RMSE) was defined as fitness function. Results have shown that GA models are more precise than MLR models and are able to explain the relation between the intrinsic strength/elasticity properties and index properties of rocks by simple formulation and accepted accuracy.  相似文献
