Morpholine is a frequently used heterocycle in medicinal chemistry and a privileged structural component of bioactive molecules. This is mainly due to its contribution to a plethora of biological activities as well as to an improved pharmacokinetic profile of such bioactive molecules. The synthesis of morpholines is a subject of much study due to their biological and pharmacological importance, with the last such review being published in 2013. Here, an overview of the main approaches toward morpholine synthesis or functionalization is presented, emphasizing on novel work which has not been reviewed so far. This review is an update on synthetic strategies leading to easily accessible libraries of bioactives which are of interest for drug discovery projects.  相似文献

The distribution of solar irradiance on the absorbing surface of a typical integrated collector storage (ICS) system combined with reflector troughs is commonly studied by means of ray tracing techniques. A conceptually different alternative is offered by the method of the average number of reflections (ANR). In the present work, the latter is employed for the systematic optical study of realistic ICS models. In all cases, the solar devices consist of twin cylindrical storage tanks which are mounted on top of stationary asymmetrical CPC‐type reflectors. The emphasis of the current research is mainly placed on the evaluation of the ANR reliability for the calculation of the optical efficiency of the related twin‐tanked devices. Additionally, useful operational parameters, such as the optical performance of the proposed geometries, are also determined. The behavior of the tested ICS systems reveals that the optical efficiency may vary in the range of 0.75 to 0.91, exhibiting a strong dependence on the geometric parameters of the solar devices. The highest efficiency is achieved by the systems which combine large reflecting area and storage tanks in close proximity.  相似文献

Eight types of A356 Al–fly ash composites were produced by pressure infiltration of high-Ca lignite fly ash. This type of ash was used for the first time in Al-composites synthesis, and particularly by liquid metal infiltration techniques. After examining mineralogy and chemistry, specific, narrow ash size fractions were used for the synthesis of composites, and properties linked to microstructure and wear strength of the materials. The effect of using ground ash particles on the microstructure and tribological performance of the composites was also investigated. It was concluded that using fine, high-Ca ash particles can improve the properties of composites, and that using ash particles in a ground form can better facilitate the production process of MMCs.  相似文献

We propose new burst assembly schemes and fast reservation (FR) protocols for Optical Burst Switched (OBS) networks that are based on traffic prediction. The burst assembly schemes aim at minimizing (for a given burst size) the average delay of the packets incurred during the burst assembly process, while the fast reservation protocols aim at further reducing the end-to-end delay of the data bursts. The burst assembly techniques use a linear prediction filter to estimate the number of packet arrivals at the ingress node in the following interval, and launch a new burst into the network when a certain criterion, different for each proposed scheme, is met. The fast reservation protocols use prediction filters to estimate the expected length of the burst and the time needed for the burst assembly process to complete. A Burst Header Packet (BHP) packet carrying these estimates is sent before the burst is completed, in order to reserve bandwidth at intermediate nodes for the time interval the burst is expected to pass from these nodes. Reducing the packet aggregation delay and the time required to perform the reservations, reduces the total time needed for a packet to be transported over an OBS network and is especially important for real-time applications. We evaluate the performance of the proposed burst assembly schemes and show that a number of them outperform the previously proposed timer-based, length-based and average delay-based burst assembly schemes. We also look at the performance of the fast reservation (FR) protocols in terms of the probability of successfully establishing the reservations required to transport the burst.  相似文献

The increasing environmental problem posed by the dumping of ferrous scrap material in Greece has inspired a programme at the National Technical University of Athens, investigating the recovery from scrap of metals in the form of powders. Prof. A.K. Moutsatsou and V.G. Effects of chromium (VI) addition on the activated sludge process   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The effect of hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), addition on various operating parameters of activated sludge process was evaluated. To accomplish this, two parallel lab-scale continuous-flow activated sludge plants were operated. One was used as a control plant, while the other received Cr(VI) concentrations equal to 0.5, 1, 3 and 5 mgl(-1). Cr(VI) concentrations of 0.5 mgl(-1) caused significant inhibition of the nitrification process (up to 74% decrease in ammonia removal efficiency). On the contrary, the effect of Cr(VI) on organic substrate removal was minor for concentrations up to 5 mgl(-1), indicating that heterotrophic microorganisms are less sensitive to Cr(VI) than nitrifiers. Activated sludge floc size and structure characterization showed that Cr(VI) concentrations higher than 1 mgl(-1) reduced the filaments abundance, causing the appearance of pin-point flocs and free-dispersed bacteria. Additionally, the variability of protozoa and rotifers was reduced. As a result of disperse growth, effluent quality deteriorated, since significant amounts of suspended solids escaped with the effluent. Termination of Cr(VI) addition led to a partial recovery of the nitrification process (up to 57% recovery). Similar recovery signs were not observed for activated sludge floc size and structure. Finally, shock loading to the control plant with 5 mgl(-1) Cr(VI) for 2 days resulted in a significant inhibition of the nitrification process and a reduction in filamentous microorganisms abundance.  相似文献

The oxidative dehydrogenation and cracking of ethane and propane over LiDyMg mixed oxides is reported. High yields of olefins and only moderate formation of carbon oxides was observed. Both are primary products that hardly interconvert under the reaction conditions used. Addition of chloride increases the rate of reaction, while slightly decreasing the selectivity to olefins. The addition of carbon dioxide strongly decreases the rate of reaction, the negative order of 0.5 indicating that two active Li+sites are blocked by the adsorption of one CO2molecule. The reaction proceeds at low oxygen pressure primarily via elimination of dihydrogen, while at higher oxygen partial pressure the hydrogen elimination occurs via water formation. It is speculated that dehydrogenation and cracking involve Li+and a rather nucleophilic oxygen site.  相似文献

The performance of the active catalyst 5%V2O5-1.9%MgO/TiO2 in propane oxidative dehydrogenation is investigated under various reactant contact modes: co-feed and redox decoupling using fixed bed and co-feed using fluid bed. Using fixed bed reactor under co-feed conditions, propane is activated easily on the catalyst surface with selectivities ranging from 30 to 75% depending on the degree of conversion. Under varying oxygen partial pressures, especially for higher than the stoichiometric ratio O2/C3H8 = 1/2, nor the propane conversion or the selectivities to propene and COx are affected. The performance of the catalyst in the absence of gas phase oxygen was tested at 400 °C. It was confirmed that the catalyst surface oxygen participates to the activation of propane forming propene and oxidation products with similar selectivities as those obtained under co-feed conditions. The ability of the catalyst to fully restore its activity by oxygen treatment was checked in repetitive reduction–oxidation cycles. Fluid bed reactor using premixed propane–oxygen mixtures was also employed in the study. The catalyst was proved to be very active in the temperature range 300–450 °C attaining selectivities comparable to those of fixed bed.  相似文献
