This paper proposes a new digital beamformer for uniform concentric circular arrays (UCCAs) having nearly frequency-invariant (FI) characteristics. The basic principle is to transform the received signals to the phase mode and remove the frequency dependency of the individual phase mode through the use of a digital beamforming or compensation network. As a result, the far-field pattern of the array, which is governed by a set of variable beamformer weights, is electronically steerable, and it is approximately invariant over a wider range of frequencies than conventional uniform circular arrays (UCAs). This also makes it possible to design the compensation network and the beamformer weights separately. The design of the compensation network is formulated as a second order cone programming (SOCP) problem and is solved optimally for minimax criterion. By employing the beamspace approach using the outputs of a set of fixed UCCA frequency-invariant beamformers (FIBs), a new beamspace MUSIC algorithm is proposed for estimating the direction-of-arrivals (DOAs) of broadband sources. Since the beampatterns of the UCCA-FIB is approximately invariant with frequency and is governed by a small set of weights, a very efficient adaptive beamformer using the minimum variance beamforming (MVB) approach can be developed. Simulation results using broadband Gaussian and multisinusoidal inputs show that the proposed adaptive UCCA-FIB is numerically better conditioned than the conventional broadband tapped-delay-line-based adaptive beamformers, due to the FI property and significantly fewer numbers of adaptive parameters. Consequently, a higher output signal-to-inference-plus-noise ratio over the conventional tapped-delay-line approach is observed. The usefulness of the proposed UCCA-FIB in broadband DOA estimation is also verified by computer simulation  相似文献

This paper presents an indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) quantum dot gate field-effect transistor (QDG-FET) that exhibits an intermediate “i” state in addition to the conventional ON and OFF states. The QDG-FET utilized a II–VI gate insulator stack consisting of lattice-matched ZnSe/ZnS/ZnMgS/ZnS/ZnSe for its high-κ and wide-bandgap properties. Germanium oxide (GeO x )-cladded germanium quantum dots were self-assembled over the gate insulator stack, and they allow for the three-state behavior of the device. Electrical characteristics of the fabricated device are also presented.  相似文献

Image-based rendering (IBR) is an promising technology for rendering photo-realistic views of scenes from a collection of densely sampled images or videos. It provides a framework for developing revolutionary virtual reality and immersive viewing systems. While there has been considerable progress recently in the capturing, storage and transmission of image-based representations, most multiple camera systems are designed to be stationary and hence their ability to cope with moving objects and dynamic environment is somewhat limited. This paper studies the design and construction of a movable image-based rendering system based on a class of dynamic representations called plenoptic videos, its associated video processing algorithms and an application to multiview audio-visual conferencing. It is constructed by mounting a linear array of 8 video cameras on an electrically controllable wheel chair and its motion is controllable manually or remotely through wireless LAN by means of additional hardware circuitry. We also developed a real-time object tracking algorithm and utilize the motion information computed to adjust continuously the azimuth or rotation angle of the movable IBR system in order to cope with a given moving object in a large environment. Due to imperfection in tracking and mechanical vibration encountered in movable systems, the videos may appear very shaky and a new video stabilization technique is proposed to overcome this problem. The usefulness of the system is illustrated by means of a multiview conferencing application using a multiview TV display. Through this pilot study, we hope to disseminate useful experience for the design and construction of movable IBR systems with improved viewing freedom and ability to cope with moving object in a large environment.  相似文献

In this paper, we report for the first time a novel dual metal gate (MG) integration process for gate-first CMOS platform by utilizing the intermixing (InM) of laminated ultra-thin metal layers during high-temperature annealing at 1000 °C. In this process, an ultra-thin (2 nm) TaN film is first deposited on gate dielectric as a buffer layer. Preferable laminated metal stacks for NMOS and PMOS are then formed on a same wafer through a selective wet-etching process in which the gate dielectric is protected by the TaN buffer layer. Dual work function for CMOS can finally be achieved by the intermixing of the laminated metal films during the S/D activation annealing. To demonstrate this process, prototype metal stacks of TaN/Tb/TaN (NMOS) and TaN/Ti/HfN (PMOS) has been integrated on a single wafer, with WF of 4.15 and 4.72 eV achieved, respectively. Threshold voltage (Vth) adjustment and transistor characteristics on high-k HfTaON dielectric are also studied.  相似文献

A broadband access system using subcarrier multiplexing on optical fibre and asymmetric digital subscriber lines (ADSL) or very high‐speed digital subscriber lines (VDSL) on unshielded twisted‐pair is proposed to provide broadband access. In this hybrid‐fibre/twisted‐pair (HFTP) system, the digital multiplexing/demultiplexing process is moved back to the central office by using subcarrier multiplexing for fibre transmission. Instead of installing in remote node, ADSL/VDSL transceivers are installed at the central office to greatly reduce the remote node complexity. The local node simply down‐converts the subcarrier multiplexed ADSL/VDSL signal to the baseband, suitable to send directly into the twisted‐pair. The reduction of complexity could result in a lower initial installation cost, especially for a low service penetration rate. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

采用二维TMA Medici模拟软件对SOI结构的串扰特性进行了分析.模拟发现随着频率的增加,SOI的埋氧化物对串扰噪声几乎不起隔离作用,同时,连接SOI结构的背衬底可以在很大程度上减小串扰的影响.还对减少串扰的沟槽隔离工艺、保护环及差分结构的有效性进行了比较分析,对一些外部寄生参数对串扰的影响也进行了研究.并给出了SOI结构厚膜和薄膜结构体掺杂浓度对噪声耦合的影响,所得到的结果对设计低噪声耦合的SOI数模混合集成电路具有指导性的作用.  相似文献

Theoretical and experimental investigations on a double coupler amplified recirculating delay line (ARDL) microwave photonic bandpass filter are presented. These show that the system involves both coherent and incoherent summation of optical signals. This enables a higher order filter transfer function to be realized, which results in a high-performance frequency response that cannot be achieved by the conventional single coupler ARDL structure. Experimental results are presented that demonstrate a sharp, high skirt selectivity and high stopband rejection level bandpass filter response.  相似文献

The transmission effect of a dielectric shell on electromagnetic radiation is analyzed by a modal cylindrical-wave spectrum technique. This method takes into consideration the curvature effect, which is generally ignored in classical approaches such as the ray method and the plane-wave spectrum analysis. Survival of tissue engineered constructs after implantation depends on proper vascularization. The differentiation of endothelial cells into mature microvasculature requires dynamic interactions between cells, scaffold, and growth factors, which are difficult to recapitulate in artificial systems. Previously, photocrosslinked poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) hydrogels displaying collagen mimetic peptides (CMPs), dubbed PEGDA‐CMP, that can be further conjugated with bioactive molecules via CMP‐CMP triple helix hybridization were reported. Here, it is shown that a bifunctional peptide featuring pro‐angiogenic domain mimicking vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and a collagen mimetic domain that can fold into a triple helix conformation can hybridize with CMP side chains of the PEGDA‐CMP hydrogel, which results in presentation of insoluble VEGF‐like signals to endothelial cells. Presentation of VEGF‐like signals on the surface of micropatterned scaffolds in this way transforms cells from a quiescent state to elongated and aligned phenotype suggesting that this system could be used to engineer organized microvasculature. It is also shown that the pro‐angiogenic peptide, when applied topically in combination with modified dextran/PEGDA hydrogels, can enhance neovascularization of burn wounds in mice demonstrating the potential clinical use of CMP‐mediated matrix‐bound bioactive molecules for dermal injuries.  相似文献

We report the fabrication of benzocyclobutene strip optical waveguides and the measurement of their birefringence properties. To take into account the stress-induced birefringence in the waveguide, we generalize the formulas reported previously for the analysis of strip waveguides. Our experimental results are shown to agree closely with the theoretical calculation. The condition for achieving zero modal birefringence by control of the aspect ratio of the strip of the waveguide is highlighted. The dependence of the birefringence in the waveguides on the temperature is also measured and discussed.  相似文献
