The attachment of anticancer agents to polymers is a promising approach towards reducing the toxic side‐effects and retaining the potent antitumour activity of these agents. A new tetrahydrophthalimido monomer containing 5‐fluorouracil (ETPFU) and its homopolymer and copolymers with acrylic acid (AA) and with vinyl acetate (VAc) have been synthesized and spectroscopically characterized. The ETPFU contents in poly(ETPFU‐co‐AA) and poly(ETPFU‐co‐VAc) obtained by elemental analysis were 21 mol% and 20 mol%, respectively. The average molecular weights of the polymers determined by gel permeation chromatography were as follows: Mn = 8900 g mol?1, Mw = 13 300 g mol?1, Mw/Mn = 1.5 for poly(ETPFU); Mn = 13 500 g mol?1, Mw = 16 600 g mol?1, Mw/Mn = 1.2 for poly(ETPFU‐co‐AA); Mn = 8300 g mol?1, Mw = 11 600 g mol?1, Mw/Mn = 1.4 poly(ETPFU‐co‐VAc). The in vitro cytotoxicity of the compounds against FM3A and U937 cancer cell lines increased in the following order: ETPFU > 5‐FU > poly(ETPFU) > poly(ETPFU‐co‐AA) > poly(ETPFU‐co‐VAc). The in vivo antitumour activities of all the polymers in Balb/C mice bearing the sarcoma 180 tumour cell line were greater than those of 5‐FU and monomer at the highest dose (800 mg kg?1). © 2002 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Polyurethane macroiniferter/poly(methyl methacrylate) block copolymer dispersions with inverse core‐shell morphologies were obtained from 1,1,2,2,‐tetraphenylethane‐1,2‐diol, dimethylol propionic acid, 4,4′‐diphenylmethane diisocyanate, and poly(propylene glycol) via a living radical mechanism. A water‐developable negative photoresist based on the photocrosslinking of N‐phenylamide groups was prepared by the copolymerization of 4‐styrenesulfonic acid sodium salts (SSS) with N‐phenylmethacrylamide (copolymer A) or p‐hydroxy‐N‐phenylmethacrylamide (copolymer B), and its properties such as solubility changes, photochemical reaction, and photoresist characteristics were studied. The copolymer containing a relatively higher amount of SSS units was soluble in water. Solubility changes of the copolymers in the various buffer solutions of pH 4 ~ 11 and in water upon irradiation were observed by the measurement of insoluble fraction. The copolymers were soluble in water before irradiation, whereas they became insoluble upon irradiation with the UV light of 254 nm. The photochemical reaction of the copolymer studied by the UV and IR absorption spectroscopies indicated that a photo‐Fries rearrangement was favored for copolymer A, whereas a photocrosslinking reaction was predominate for copolymer B. Resist properties of the copolymers were studied by measurement of the normalized thickness and by development of the micropattern. Negative tone images with a resolution of 1 μm were obtained with these materials that have a sensitivity (D) of ~ 1100 mJ/cm2 with an aqueous developing process.© 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Stable polyurethane-polystyrene (PU-PS) copolymer emulsions were prepared by the polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA)-capped PU macromonomer and styrene, using azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN), a radical initiator, and 4-((benzodithioyl)methyl)benzoic acid, a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent. As the molar ratio of the RAFT agent to AIBN increased, the zeta potential of the resulting copolymer emulsion increased, but the average size and size distribution of the emulsion droplets decreased. A living polymerization of HEA end-capped PU macromonomer and styrene was characterized by a linear increase in the molecular weight and decrease in the molecular weight distribution with consumption of monomers. The tensile strength, hardness and water-resistance of the copolymer films, prepared from the PU-PS copolymer emulsions, were much greater than those of the films prepared from the pure PU emulsion. The copolymer emulsions, prepared via the RAFT polymerization process, are expected to exhibit better storage stability than those prepared via the conventional free radical polymerization process, due to the presence of carboxyl groups derived from the RAFT agent at the PS block termini.  相似文献

Crystallization of L-ornithine-L-aspartate (LOLA) by drowning out was performed for the production of the anhydrous form of LOLA. The needle-like LOLA crystals were formed and spherically agglomerated during precipitation in a semibatch crystallizer. The primary crystal size in the agglomerate remains unchanged after completion of the crystallization. Therefore, the agglomeration process of primary crystals played an important role for controlling LOLA crystal size. The agglomeration of LOLA crystals was governed by not only the physico-chemical parameters such as the temperature and feed concentration, but also the hydrodynamic parameters such as agitation speed and feeding rate. The crystal size and the shape have been shown to be important factors in product impurity and flowability. Thus, the optimum condition of LOLA crystallization process by drowning-out could be obtained.  相似文献

The application of conventional observer designs for high-dimensional systems may not always be practical due to high computational requirements or the resulting observers being too sensitive to measurement noise. In order to address these issues, this paper presents two observer design techniques for state estimation of high-dimensional chemical processes. One technique is used for systems with inputs, whereas the other one is specifically geared towards systems that are not excited from the outside. Both of these observers are applicable to linear and with a modification to non-linear systems.The main idea behind the presented observer designs is that a reduced-order observer is implemented instead of a conventional state estimator. The motivation is that subspaces, which are close to being unobservable, cannot be correctly reconstructed in a realistic setting due to measurement noise and inaccuracies in the model. The presented approaches make use of this observation and only reconstruct the parts of the system where accurate state estimation is possible. The observer designs are illustrated on a 30-tray distillation column model. Additionally, it has been shown that the location of process measurements has a major effect on the performance of the presented reduced-order observers.  相似文献

This paper proposes a method of exploring the local shape of an unknown object using the force and torque information obtained from active touch. In the first, we present a method to estimate an unknown curvature, using rolling and sliding motion with a force/torque sensor attached to the fingertip of the hand. Then, the normal curvature equation from 2D curvatures is obtained. Finally we present a reconstruction algorithm of local geometry by using a normal curvature equation, which is composed of principal curvatures and principal directions. The method is tested by using a hand-arm system consisting of an industrial robot arm and an anthropomorphic robot hand with 6-axis force/torque sensor. The feasibility of the proposed method is experimentally validated for objects with simple geometries such as cylinder, spheres etc.  相似文献

The acoustic emission behavior during tensile loading of two common epoxy systems of different ductility was investigated at different loading rates. At low threshold voltage, it was possible to register acoustic emissions before the final failure. Only very few emissions were recorded compared with the amount commonly recorded for metals and composite materials. The acoustic emissions detected were of burst-type, revealing a brittle damage accumulation process. They originated from the initiation and incremental growth of microcracks of stochastic nature. The events occurred before gross yielding and during the final “brittle” failure process. Basically no events were detected between gross yielding and the final failure during which large scale yielding, necking, and stable crack growth took place. The occurrence of events at the different loading rates was strongly influenced by the yielding behavior and fracture toughness, characterized by the yield stress σy and the plane-strain fracture toughness KIc respectively. KIc was inversely dependent on the total number of events up to gross yielding. The event distribution normalized with respect to the conditions at gross yielding was hardly affected by the loading rate.  相似文献

The interfaces between metal organic chemical vapor deposited PbTiO3 thin films and various diffusion barrier layers deposited on Si substrates were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Several diffusion barrier thin films such as polycrystalline TiO2, amorphous TiO2, ZrO2, and TiN were deposited between the PbTiO3 thin film and Si substrate, because the deposition of PbTiO3 thin films on bare Si substrates produced Pb silicate layers at the interface irrespective of the deposition conditions. The TiO2 films were converted to PbTiO3 by their reaction with diffused Pb and O ions during PbTiO3 deposition at a gubstrate temperature of 410°C. Further diffusion of Pb and O induces formation of a Pb silicate layer at the interface. ZrO2 did not seem to react with Pb and O during PbTiO3 deposition at the same temperature, but the Pb and O ions that diffused through the ZrO2 layer formed a Pb silicate layer between the ZrO2 and Si substrate. The TiN films did not seem to react with Pb and O ions during the deposition of PbTiO3 at 410°C, but reacted with PbTiO3 to form a lead-deficient pyrochlore during postdeposition rapid thermal annealing at 700°C. However, TiN could effectively block the diffusion of Pb and O ions into the Si substrate and the formation of Pb silicate at the interface.  相似文献
