The water solubilities (S), octanol/water partition coefficients (Kow) and bioconcentration factors (BCF) of four polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) fluids covering a wide range of molecular weight were measured. It is shown that a previously described correlation between S and Kow for organic chemicals may be invalid for PDMS fluids; an alternative correlation is proposed. Some PDMS fluids tend to have a bioconcentration potential in silver carp.  相似文献

The photoproduction of hydrogen by the green alga Chlorella pyrenoidosa was studied in 650-ml bubble columns made of glass with 7 cm diameter. Hydrogen was produced by adding sodium dithionite as an oxygen scavenger directly to an algal suspension. When a part of the wall of the bubble column was shaded with a sheet of plastic film impervious to light, the production rate and total volume of hydrogen increased as compared to those in the columns without partial shading. This relationship between the hydrogen photoevolution rate and the proportion of lighted region is contrary to normal photochemical reactions. This phenomenon is considered to be related to the regulation by light of the activity of the enzymes and/or the photosynthetic electron transport systems, which was examined by measuring fluorescence induction curves of dark-adapted Chlorella cells and also the distribution of light intensity within the bubble column bioreactors.  相似文献

We have developed an analytical method for terpene resins in chewing gum. The fraction including terpene resins was prepared by means of hexane extraction and two silica gel column chromatography treatments (hexane and ethyl acetate) from chewing gum. The terpene resin fraction was analyzed with LC/MS and IR. The terpene resins are mixtures of polymeric pinene and/or limonene, which have a monomer molecular weight of 136. The MS spectrum of the terpene resin peak on the LC/MS total ion chromatogram showed protonated molecular ion (M + H)+ peaks at intervals of m/z 136, characteristic of a complex mixture of polyterpenes. IR spectroscopy is a suitable technique to identify the terpene resin type, ie., pinene or limonene. When the method was applied to imported chewing gum sold in Japan, terpene resins were clearly detected.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Charged Particle Activation Analysis (CPAA) utilizing an 8-MeV proton beam has been studied for determination of 35 long-lived radioactive nuclides. We accumulated the reaction cross section and nuclear decay data by referring to nuclear database supplied by National Nuclear Data Center in Brookhaven National Laboratory. We also calculated the reaction cross sections by using statistical model code ALICE. By using the nuclear data, we have derived determination sensitivity of the radioactive nuclides relative to unit weight and specific radioactivity. The result indicates that several hardly measurable nuclides with long half-lives such as 135Cs, 244Pu, 129I, 126Sn, 93Mo, 107Pd, 236U, 248Cm, and 237Np have high sensitivity. It may be concluded that CPAA can be applied to determination of several long-lived nuclei and will provide a quick and non-destructive analysis method.  相似文献

A simulation code was developed to evaluate the performance of the cesium adsorption instrument operating in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Since contaminated water contains seawater whose salinity is not constant, a new model was introduced to the conventional zeolite column simulation code to deal with the variable salinity of the seawater. Another feature of the cesium adsorption instrument is that it consists of several columns arranged in both series and parallel. The spent columns are replaced in a unique manner using a merry-go-round system. The code is designed by taking those factors into account. Consequently, it enables the evaluation of the performance characteristics of the cesium adsorption instrument, such as the time history of the decontamination factor, the cesium adsorption amount in each column, and the axial distribution of the adsorbed cesium in the spent columns. The simulation is conducted for different operation patterns and its results are given to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) to support the optimization of the operation schedule. The code is also used to investigate the cause of some events that actually occurred in the operation of the cesium adsorption instrument.  相似文献

The interaction of water with wood, such as bamboo and cedar, is investigated by measuring their complex piezoelectric, dielectric, and elastic constants between -150 and 150°C at 10 Hz. Bamboo and cedar are found to have two hydration-dependent elastic loss peaks; one is observed at about -100°C and the other at about -40°C. The former loss peak is due to the adsorbed water in the hydration range between 0 and 4% moisture content (MC) and the latter to the adsorbed water above 4% MC. These two types of water are considered bound on different sites in the regions around crystalline cellulose, where molecules of one type associate with each other and molecules of the other are unassociated. We consider that the piezoelectric polarization of wood is attributed to the rotation of hydroxyl groups in the crystal lattice of cellulose. The piezoelectric constants are observed to decrease but the elastic and dielectric constants to increase with increasing hydration. The effect of adsorbed water on elastic losses in bamboo and cedar are found to be similar to that in collagenous substances.  相似文献

Current steel forgings used for the construction of steam generators (SGs) for a nuclear power plant (NPP) were introduced from the following three (3) features. (1) Integral type steel forgings such as (i) primary head integrated with nozzles, manways and supports, (ii) steam drum head integrated with nozzle and handhole, (iii) conical shell integrated with cylindrical sections and handholes, have been developed to enhance the structural integrity of the component and to make fabrication and inspection including in-service inspection easier. (2) The high strength steel such as SA508 Cl.3a has been adopted to decrease the weight of components, resulting in enhancement of aseismatic properties of SG. (3) Low Si SA508 Cl.3 steel with the addition of Al was investigated and was applied to a heavy thick tube sheet forging, to minimize the macro- and micro-segregations in the ingot.  相似文献

In order to obtain information on the lattice location of B atoms in graphite, channelling experiments have been performed at room temperature with a proton beam of an energy of 0.65-0.77 MeV for the 〈0 0 0 1〉 axial channel in highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) crystals doped with 0.32 at.% B. The B atoms are detected by measuring α-particles which are emitted as a result of a nuclear reaction 11B(p,α)αα. It is clearly demonstrated that most of B atoms are shadowed behind the 〈0 0 0 1〉 C atomic rows. Taking account of the already reported experimental results on a change of lattice parameters by B-doping, it is concluded that most of B atoms are located at substitutional sites. It is also observed that B-doping introduces lattice strain on the c-plane. In addition, the presence of a small portion of interstitial B atoms is suggested.  相似文献

The numerical simulation of an ammonothermal process for growing GaN bulk single crystals has been performed by using the SC/Tetra computational fluid dynamics software. The autoclave is assumed to be axisymmetric. Heat transfer by natural convection is discussed in the case of flat and funnel-shaped baffles. Simulation results show that the optimum baffle angle is approximately 20°. This result is identical to that obtained in our previous study on the hydrothermal ZnO crystal growth process.  相似文献

To characterise the composition of sulphur-containing constituents in Chinese chive (Allium tuberosum Rottler), GC–MS and HPLC analyses were carried out, using 12 varieties of Chinese origin, 4 varieties of Japanese origin and 6 commercially available cultivars. Five disulphides (dimethyl, allyl methyl, methyl 1-(E)-propenyl, diallyl, and allyl 1-(E)-propenyl), two trisulphides (dimethyl and allyl methyl), and two vinyldithiins (3-vinyl-[4H]-1,2- and 2-vinyl-[4H]-1,3-) were identified on the basis of their mass spectral and GC-retention data. Among the detected sulphur compounds, sulphides with a methyl group predominated over those with an allyl group. This was supported by the HPLC estimations, suggesting that all cultivars examined had much greater amounts of methiin than alliin. Also, two novel compounds were tentatively identified as [3H,4H]-1,2-dithiin and [2H,4H]-1,3-dithiin on the basis of their mass spectral features, GC-retention data, and some experimental results on their formation in reaction mixtures with different proportions of methiin and alliin.
