Recycling of milled product particles in continuous fluidised bed spray granulation can lead to sustained oscillations in the particle size distribution. In this contribution, a model‐predictive feedback control scheme is presented that allows for stabilisation of unstable steady‐states. The feedback law is designed based on a population balance model, which describes the temporal evolution of the particle size distribution due to the particulate processes, and is compared with traditional design methods (PI, LQR). 相似文献

Platelets are at the forefront of human health and disease following the advances in their research presented in past decades. Platelet activation, their most crucial function, although beneficial in the case of vascular injury, may represent the initial step for thrombotic complications characterizing various pathologic states, primarily atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. In this review, we initially summarize the structural and functional characteristics of platelets. Next, we focus on the process of platelet activation and its associated factors, indicating the potential molecular mechanisms involving inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and miRs. Finally, an overview of the available antiplatelet agents is being portrayed, together with agents possessing off-set platelet-inhibitory actions, while an extensive presentation of drugs under investigation is being given. 相似文献

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most frequent arrhythmia managed in clinical practice, and it is linked to an increased risk of death, stroke, and peripheral embolism. The Global Burden of Disease shows that the estimated prevalence of AF is up to 33.5 million patients. So far, successful therapeutic techniques have been implemented, with a high health-care cost burden. As a result, identifying modifiable risk factors for AF and suitable preventive measures may play a significant role in enhancing community health and lowering health-care system expenditures. Several mechanisms, including electrical and structural remodeling of atrial tissue, have been proposed to contribute to the development of AF. This review article discusses the predisposing factors in AF including the different pathogenic mechanisms, sedentary lifestyle, and dietary habits, as well as the potential genetic burden. 相似文献

Plant monoterpene indole alkaloids, a large class of natural products, derive from the biosynthetic intermediate strictosidine aglycone. Strictosidine aglycone, which can exist as a variety of isomers, can be reduced to form numerous different structures. We have discovered a short‐chain alcohol dehydrogenase (SDR) from plant producers of monoterpene indole alkaloids (Catharanthus roseus and Rauvolfia serpentina) that reduce strictosidine aglycone and produce an alkaloid that does not correspond to any previously reported compound. Here we report the structural characterization of this product, which we have named vitrosamine, as well as the crystal structure of the SDR. This discovery highlights the structural versatility of the strictosidine aglycone biosynthetic intermediate and expands the range of enzymatic reactions that SDRs can catalyse. This discovery further highlights how a sequence‐based gene mining discovery approach in plants can reveal cryptic chemistry that would not be uncovered by classical natural product chemistry approaches. 相似文献

During grinding, in cascading mills, the mass distribution of the material moves continuously to finer sizes. Grinding models are usually designed to predict the size distribution of the mill products either as a function of effective breakage events and the time or the energy consumed by the mill. Mill products are always tested for their size analysis and their fineness is usually expressed as the size d through which a certain amount of material passes, i.e. d80. However, particulate materials have some supplementary properties that a grinding model should predict as well. The specific surface area is such an important supplementary property. Initially, the present work examines the relationship between mass distribution and the surface area of ground materials and determines the conditions under which, mass distribution can be used to determine the surface area. Based on these findings the work further examines the operating conditions of a cascading mill under which the surface area of the material increases at the highest rate. The operating parameter examined is the mill load ratio expressed as the mass ratio of mill grinding media and the material present in the mill. 相似文献

In this article we propose a new correction for the penalty term of the Akaike’s information criterion (AIC), when it is used in the context of order selection for an autoregressive fit of the spectral density of a stationary time series. The classical AIC penalty term may be viewed as an approximation of an appropriate target quantity. Simulations show that the quality of this approximation strongly depends on the type of autoregressive estimator used, as well as on the discrepancy used. Therefore here we consider the least squares autoregressive estimator and the Whittle discrepancy only. In this context we propose a closed formula correction of the AIC penalty term. We also develop asymptotic theory which justifies this proposal: an asymptotically valid second‐order expansion of a stochastic approximation of the target quantity. This expansion assumes a non‐parametric framework: it does not assume gaussianity of the process and only requires its spectral density to be smooth enough. Simulations show that, as compared to previously introduced corrections, this new correction performs similarly to finite sample information criterion, while they both outperform AIC corrected and AIC. 相似文献

Search operations and browsing facilities over an XML document database require special support at the physical level. Typical
search operations involve path queries. This paper proposes a hierarchical access method to support such operations and to
facilitate browsing. It advocates the idea of searching large XML collections by administering efficiently XML schemata. The
proposed approach may be used for indexing XML documents according to their structural proximity. This is obtained by organizing
the schemata of a large XML document collection in a hierarchical way by merging structurally close schemata. The proposed
structure, which is called XML Schema Directory (XSD), is a balanced tree and it may serve two purposes: (1) to accelerate XML query processing and (2) to facilitate browsing.

functional theory level. Three solvents, differing in their hydrogen-bonding ability and polarity—n-heptane, acetonitrile, and ethanol—were used to model different environmental situations. The trends in solution-phase antioxidant
activity appeared different in each solvent; still, the theoretical antioxidant activity trend derived in n-heptane was in excellent agreement with the experimental one in the lipid systems and the gas-phase system. Different ortho substituents show notably different solvent effects. These results could lead to the determination of reliable antioxidant
