The electrodynamic response at 20 GHz of c-axis oriented MgB2 superconducting thin films is reported. Mg-rich Mg-B precursor samples were grown on MgO and Al2O3 single crystal substrates by a d.c. planar magnetron sputtering technique, and subsequently annealed in situ at 800°C for 10 min in a In-sealed Nb box in the presence of saturated Mg vapor. The films were characterized by a variety of structural and electronic techniques including XRD, EDS, STM-AFM analyses, and transport measurements. The dependence of the surface impedance from temperature and radiofrequency (r.f.) field amplitude was measured via a dielectric resonator technique. Temperature data clearly confirm the s-wave nature of the newly discovered superconductor, even if the value of the energy gap is smaller than BCS prediction. An effective two-band model can be applied to quantitatively explain the experimental results. In spite of previous reports claiming the absence of weak link behavior in MgB2, the power dependence show that granularity governs the performance of these films in the microwave region.  相似文献

The optical absorption coefficient of HgTe/Hg0.3Cd0.7Te superlattices (SLs) and its pressure dependence has been investigated at hydrostatic pressures up to 30 kbar at room temperature. The corresponding intersubband transition energies result from a comparison of experimental and theoretical absorption coefficients. The latter is based on the band structure, which is calculated using Kane’s four-band (8×8 k · p) model together with the envelope function approximation. The experimental linear pressure coefficients of the H1 — E1 and H1 — L1 intersubband transitions are in good agreement with the theoretical values, e.g., 7.15±0.3 meV/kbar and 6.2±0.3 meV/kbar compared to 7.4 and 6.4 meV/kbar, respectively. this is in stark contrast to the pressure dependence of ≤1 meV/kbar of the photoluminescence (PL) peaks of a similar SL reported in the literature. Consequently, we conclude that the reported PL peaks are not due to intersubband transitions and that the k · p model correctly reproduces the electronic band structure and its pressure dependence of HgTe/Hg1−xCdxTe SLs.  相似文献

An algorithmic solution method is presented for the problem of autonomous robot motion in completely unknown environments. Our approach is based on the alternate execution of two fundamental processes: map building and navigation. In the former, range measures are collected through the robot exteroceptive sensors and processed in order to build a local representation of the surrounding area. This representation is then integrated in the global map so far reconstructed by filtering out insufficient or conflicting information. In the navigation phase, an A*-based planner generates a local path from the current robot position to the goal. Such a path is safe inside the explored area and provides a direction for further exploration. The robot follows the path up to the boundary of the explored area, terminating its motion if unexpected obstacles are encountered. The most peculiar aspects of our method are the use of fuzzy logic for the efficient building and modification of the environment map, and the iterative application of A*, a complete planning algorithm which takes full advantage of local information. Experimental results for a NOMAD 200 mobile robot show the real-time performance of the proposed method, both in static and moderately dynamic environments.  相似文献

Despite their very broad diffusion, IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) are not able to provide service differentiation and to support real-time multimedia applications, due to their channel access methods. To overcome these limitations, the 802.11e working group has proposed the Enhanced Distributed Coordination Access (EDCA) scheme, which achieves service differentiation on a statistical basis by properly mapping user Quality of Service (QoS) requirements to channel contention parameters. Such a scheme will be included in the emerging 802.11n standard and in the revision of the 802.11 standard. However, it has been widely demonstrated that, especially at high network loads, EDCA does not provide an effective usage of the channel capacity. In particular, it is unable to provide a bounded delay service to all kinds of multimedia flow because flows with lower channel access priorities are starved to advantage only those with the highest priority. To fix this undesired behavior and improve wireless LAN performance, this paper proposes a new Extended EDCA (E2DCA) scheme, that is compliant with 802.11e specifications. By exploiting a closed-loop control algorithm, E2DCA performs a distributed dynamic bandwidth allocation, providing guarantees on average/absolute delays to real-time media flows, regardless of their priorities. Moreover, an innovative Call Admission Control (CAC) procedure has been developed. Using the ns-2 simulator, the effectiveness of the algorithm has been investigated in realistic network scenarios, involving a mix of audio, video, and FTP flows, at several network loads and with random losses. Results have shown that the proposed scheme is able to provide a bounded delay service to multimedia flows in a wide range of network loads and frame loss ratios.  相似文献

Independence is a fundamental property needed to achieve security in fault-tolerant distributed computing. In practice, distributed communication networks are neither fully synchronous or fully asynchronous, but rather loosely synchronized. By this, we mean that in a communication protocol, messages at a given round may depend on messages from other players at the same round. These possible dependencies among messages create problems if we need n players to announce independently chosen values. This task is called simultaneous broadcast. In this paper, we present the first constant round protocol for simultaneous broadcast in a reasonable computation model (which includes a common shared random string among the players). The protocol is provably secure under general cryptographic assumptions. In the process, we develop a new and stronger formal definition for this problem. Previously known protocols for this task required either O(log n) or expected constant rounds to complete (depending on the computation model considered)  相似文献

We report the design and realization of an integrated system for measuring, at the same time, the thermodynamic and spectroscopic features of nanoporous materials interesting for hydrogen storage purposes. The whole investigation cycle, from thermal activation to the actual investigation of uptake and release of hydrogen, is carried out in the same vacuum tight vessel, equipped with an optical window, whose temperature can range between 10 and 750 K, up to a maximum pressure of 50 bars. The system has been designed to investigate properties of carbon nanotubes but its use can be extended to any kind of nanoporous sample such as, for example, carbon nanofibers, zeolytes, metal organic frameworks, and similar materials.  相似文献

The-ray resonance technique has been employed for the study of the magnetic structure of a series of Mn-Zn ferrites, prepared by a wet chemical method, before and after high-temperature annealing. In agreement with previously reported results, ionic spin relaxation has been observed for the annealed sample Mn0.4 Zn0.6 Fe2 O4. On the other hand, the unannealed sample with the same concentration has shown the existence of superparamagnetic clusters, as proposed by Ishikawa, which exist simultaneously with ferrimagnetic regions in the material. These findings are explained in terms of the magnetic disorder resulting from the particular method of preparation.  相似文献

Ball milling was used to graft maleated polypropylene (MAPP) on the surface of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), with a view to preparing MWCNT/polypropylene composites with improved matrix/nanotube compatibility. The occurrence of the grafting reaction was evaluated by FTIR spectroscopy and the yield was quantified by thermogravimetric analysis, as a function of the milling time. Dispersion experiments confirmed the nanotube surface modification of the nanotubes since functionalized MWCNTs remained stably dispersed in an ethanol/xylene solution for more than 48 h after sonication. No evidences of significant structural damage after the mechano-chemical treatment were shown by Raman spectroscopy. Moreover, a layer attributable to the presence of grafted MAPP chains on MWCNT walls was clearly detected by transmission electron microscopy. The average thickness of this amorphous layer was evaluated and compared with quantitative TGA data.  相似文献

Explosion tests were performed for CH4/O2/N2 mixtures in a non-adiabatic 5 L cylindrical vessel. Experiments were run for mixtures with stoichiometric CH4/O2 ratio, changing the oxygen air enrichment factor, E = O2/(O2 + N2), from 0.21 (air) to 1 (pure oxygen). Oscillating pressure time histories with over-adiabatic peaks (up to 240 bar) have been measured. The oscillating behaviors can be attributed to the occurrence of cycles of condensation and vaporization of the water produced during combustion. Such cycles culminate in the rapid phase transition of the condensed water, leading to the over-adiabatic pressure peaks.  相似文献
