Hydrodynamic measurements were obtained in a half-column of diameter 0.91 m equipped with a conical base using particles of diameter 3.3 to 6.7mm with operation both as pure spouted beds and in the spout-fluid bed mode. Comparison of the experimental results for minimum spouting velocity with equations in the literature generally gave unsatisfactory agreement. On the other hand, the correlations of McNab (1972) and Had?isdmajlovi? et al. (1983) gave reasonable predictions of spout diameters in spouted and spout-fluid beds respectively. Hydrodynamic regimes with auxiliary air present were broadly similar to those determined in smaller columns. However, there were substantial dead regimes at the bottom of the column. A finite difference model based on the vector form of the Ergun equation gave good predictions of air flow distribution and longitudinal pressure profiles. 相似文献

Experiments were carried out in a half slot-rectangular spouted bed to investigate the effects of slot width and lower section basal angle on column hydrodynamics. Flow regimes, minimum spouting velocity, spouting and maximum pressure drops, and maximum spoutable bed height were determined for 4 mm diameter polyethylene particles. The results are compared with those for conventional cylindrical and rectangular spouted beds. Pharmaceutical compounds and their derivatives are major pollutants in the environment, as their metabolites affect the terrestrial as well as aquatic organisms in one or another way. In recent times, many papers have discussed the treatment procedures for single pharmaceutical and mixture of pharmaceutical components, but only few papers have discussed the fate and the exposure of pharmaceutical contaminants in our environment. In this paper, we discuss the sources and the forms of pharmaceutical products and their resultant in the environment and their addition to the microbial and to human communities. A detailed discussion of various treatment techniques from conventional to current techniques, their advantages and disadvantages is given here. Researchers are finding the techniques in order to completely degrade the contaminants and their transformed products from the environment. Castor oil can be used in industry. The molecular species of triacylglycerols containing hydroxy fatty acids (FA) in castor oil have been identified. We report here the identification of twelve diacylglycerols (DAG) containing hydroxy FA in castor oil using positive ion electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of the lithium adducts. They were RR (diricinolein, R is ricinoleate), RL, RS, R‐diOH18:0, R‐diOH18:1, R‐diOH18:2, R‐triOH18:0, R‐triOH18:1, R‐triOH18:2, diOH18:0‐diOH18:1, diOH18:1‐diOH18:1 and diOH18:1‐diOH18:2. The MS2 fragment ions, [M + Li ? FA]+ and [FA + Li]+, from the lithium adducts of DAG containing hydroxy FA (one or two hydroxy FA), were used for the identification. The additional fragment ions from the neutral losses of FA lithium salts [M + Li ? FALi]+ were used for the identification of eleven DAG containing two normal FA in a soybean oil bioconversion product. The MS2 fragment ions from the neutral losses of FA lithium salts [M + Li ? FALi]+ were not detected from the DAG containing hydroxy FA. The DAG containing FA with more hydroxyl groups than the other FA on the same DAG molecule tended to have a prominent fragment ion [FA + Li]+ and an undetectable fragment ion [M + Li ? FA]+ while the FA was the more hydroxylated FA. Also the less hydroxylated FA of a DAG tended to have a prominent fragment ion [M + Li ? The hydrodynamics of fluid bed cokers were studied by analyzing pressure fluctuations and particle motion in a half‐column cold model, geometrically and dynamically similar (with key dimensionless groups matched) to the stripper section of two commercial fluid cokers. Superficial gas velocity and solids circulation strongly affected the hydrodynamics. The pressure drop over the top section of the stripper decreased at high solids circulation fluxes and high gas velocities due to flooding. Flooding occurred prematurely when fouling was simulated. Steam redistribution did not improve stripper performance for the conditions investigated. However, steep sheds on the top row, aeration behind the solids exit and standpipe aeration all improved solids circulation, leading to reduced fouling in two commercial fluid cokers. 相似文献

Information embedded in different ubiquitin chains is transduced by proteins with ubiquitin‐binding domains (UBDs) and erased by a set of hydrolytic enzymes referred to as deubiquitinases (DUBs). Understanding the selectivity of UBDs and DUBs is necessary for decoding the functions of different ubiquitin chains. Critical to these efforts is the access to chemically defined ubiquitin chains bearing site‐specific fluorescent labels. One approach toward constructing such molecules involves peptide ligation by sortase (SrtA), a bacterial transpeptidase responsible for covalently attaching cell surface proteins to the cell wall. Here, we demonstrate the utility of SrtA in modifying individual subunits of ubiquitin chains. Using ubiquitin derivatives in which an N‐terminal glycine is unveiled after protease‐mediated digestion, we synthesized ubiquitin dimers, trimers, and tetramers with different isopeptide linkages. SrtA was then used in combination with fluorescent depsipeptide substrates to effect the modification of each subunit in a chain. By constructing branched ubiquitin chains with individual subunits tagged with a fluorophore, we provide evidence that the ubiquitin‐specific protease USP15 prefers ubiquitin trimers but has little preference for a particular isopeptide linkage. Our results emphasize the importance of subunit‐specific labeling of ubiquitin chains when studying how DUBs process these chains. 相似文献

Tests were carried out with rectangular spouted bed columns of different thickness, i.e., front-to-back dimension, while holding the column width and air-entry slot width constant, to investigate the effects on spoul stability and bed hydrodynamics. A cold model study was carried out of an internally circulating fluidized bed membrane reactor for hydrogen production by steam reforming. This configuration facilitates a novel process in which air is introduced for autothermal operation, while avoiding diluting the hydrogen in the gas stream by nitrogen. A column of diameter 230 mm and height 2.4 m contained a membrane box of square cross-section. Gas circulation was investigated by injecting helium tracer into the top of the bed above the membrane box and detecting its concentration in the annulus and lower membrane box by a thermal conductivity detector. Solids circulation was determined from the downward velocity of particles in the annulus. The major resistance to solids circulation was found to be at the passage connecting the outer downflow to the inner upflow compartment. A ring distributor helped overcome this resistance. 相似文献
