In this article, we apply the renormalization technique, used possibly in theorical physics, for electromagnetic studying of bi dimensional fractal structures. A recurrence relation based on the auto-similar nature of structures and on the model of the surface impedance, has permitted, thanks to the convergence to a fixed point, to determine the input impedance of these structures at any scale. Though, the suggested method has been validated by calculus of one-dimensional structures (Iris de Cantor) it may be applied easily to the analysis of planar circuits as the Sierpensky antenna.  相似文献

Hammurabi is a software application designed to help the UNIX system administrator to evaluate better the consequences of the actions he/she carries out, in order to maintain the system and to make it change. In this paper, we describe the implementation of Hammurabi's inference engine. This engine is a multiactor Prolog-like engine. The actors have, on the one hand, the ability to spy the events occurring inside the whole machine (inside the engine, and inside the UNIX OS), and on the other hand, the ability to forbid or to freeze some events. This ability is used as a synchronization mechanism. In the first part of this paper, we describe the data representation. In its second part, we describe the implementation of the spying mechanism.  相似文献

Nowadays microfabrication techniques originating from micro-electro nics enable to create mechanical objects of micron-size. The field of Micro-Electro-Mechanical devices (MEMs) is continuously expanding, with an amazingly broad range of applications at room temperature. Vibrating objects (torsional oscillators, vibrating wires) widely used at low temperatures to study quantum fluids, can be replaced advantageously by Silicon MEMs. In this letter we report on the study of Silicon vibrating wire devices. A goal-post structure covered with a metal layer is driven at resonance by the Laplace force acting on a current in a magnetic field, while the induced voltage arising from the cut magnetic flux allows to detect the motion. The characteristics of the resonance have been studied from 10 mK to 30 K, in vacuum and in 4He gas. In this article, we focus on the results obtained above 1.5 K, in vacuum and gas, and introduce some features observed at lower temperatures. The resonant properties can be quantitatively understood by means of simple models, from the linear regime to a highly non-linear response at strong drives. We demonstrate that the non-linearity is mostly due to the geometry of the vibrators. We also show that in our device the friction mechanisms originate in the metallic layers, and can be fully characterized. The interaction with 4He gas is fit to theory without adjustable parameters.   相似文献

Virtual adjustable sources are introduced in equivalent network representation of boundary conditions. For this purpose, integral equations are to be solved simple application of analog Kirchoff’s and Ohm’s laws. These adjustable sources represent generalized trial quantities. The effect of seismic excitation and multiplicative noise (arising from environmental fluctuations) on the stability of a single degree of freedom system with distributed delays are investigated. The system is modelled in the form of a stochastic integro-differential equation interpreted in Stratonovich sense. Both deterministic stability and stochastic moment stability are examined for the system in the absence of seismic excitation. The model is also extended to incorporate effects of symmetric nonlinearity. The simulation of stochastic linear and nonlinear systems is carried out by resorting to numerical techniques for the solution of stochastic differential equations. Previously we described the construction and properties of a rapid yeast bioassay stably expressing human estrogen receptor alpha (hERalpha) and yeast enhanced green fluorescent protein (yEGFP), the latter in response to estrogens. In the present study this yeast estrogen assay was validated as a qualitative screening method for the determination of estrogenic activity in animal feed. This validation was performed according to EC Decision 2002/657. Twenty blank animal feed samples, including milk replacers and wet and dry feed samples, were spiked with 17beta-estradiol (E2beta) at 5 ng g(-1), 17alpha-ethynylestradiol (EE2) at 5 ng g(-1), diethylstilbestrol (DES) at 10 ng g(-1), zearalenone at 1.25 microg g(-1) or equal at 200 microg g(-1). All of these blank and low estrogen spiked feed samples fulfilled the CCalpha and CCbeta criterions, meaning that all 20 blank feed samples gave a signal below the determined decision limit CCalpha and were thus classified as compliant, and at least 19 out of the 20 spiked samples gave a signal above this CCalpha (beta = 5%) and were thus classified as suspect. The method was specific and estrogens in feed were stable for up to 98 days. In this study we also present long-term performance data and several examples of estrogens found in the routine screening of animal feed. This is the first successful example of a developed, validated and applied bioassay for the screening of hormonal substances in feed.  相似文献

Many plants and insects possess multi‐functional surfaces covered by dense nanohair. Such a nanofur is of high interest for various biomimetic applications like self‐healing, air retention, and oil/water separation. Here, we introduce a highly scalable and competitive molding technique for the fabrication of biomimetic nanofur. With this method, we pull nanofur out of flat polycarbonate and tune its wettability from hydrophilic to superhydrophobic. By mechanically structuring these samples we create various devices suitable for microfluidics. The nanofur can be also used for the fabrication of self‐healing surfaces inspired by pitcher plants as well as for air‐retaining surfaces mimicking the water fern Salvinia minima. Finally, we utilize the nanofur for oil/water separation and the cleaning of oil spills.  相似文献

This paper describes an adaptation of Ergon's 2PLS approach (Compression into two-component PLS factorizations. J. Chemom. 2003; 17: 303-312.) to represent a single predictor regression model in terms of a two-factor latent vector model. The purpose of this reduction is to aid model interpretation and diagnostics. Non-orthogonal score vectors are produced from two orthonormal loading vectors: one identical to the first PLS loading vector, and a second built from the regression vector. Using an invertible matrix, the factorization can be alternatively represented by two orthogonal score vectors, one of which is proportional to centred predictions. An auxiliary set of loadings is also calculated, which captures a different model space, but is provided since its associated residuals have useful properties. Identities connecting the two model spaces are provided. The latent vector regression coefficients are not always least-squares estimates but can be represented as the solution to a two-term generalized ridge regression. Consequences of this are addressed. The utility of TinyLVR is demonstrated with example models built using stepwise variate selection and ridge regression.  相似文献

In the framework of context awareness within the home, our team is currently assessing the unobtrusive detection of inhabitants' activity through the monitoring of their use and consumption of electricity. The objective is to develop a system for the remote monitoring of large populations of elderly people living independently at home. To be readily deployable on the field, such a system must be minimally intrusive both for the home environment and for the field professionals (paramedics and social workers) visiting the patients at home. We carried out two successive field experiments to evaluate and to improve our system designed to deliver a single index of daily activity. The first experiment involved 13 elderly persons over a nine-month period (84,240 h data recorded) and the second one 12 elderly over six months (51,840 h). We evaluated both the relevance of the index and the acceptability of the system as a whole. We discovered that electrical activity is a kind of unique "signature" of each person's activity. Moreover, this profile provides unexpected information on the health status of the subject. We confirmed that the system was unobtrusive and well accepted both by the subjects and by the professionals involved. Our unique index of activity, and its trend over time, can provide timely information to the professionals on the patient.  相似文献
