In quenching, the cooling uniformity is most important to diminish distortion occurring on work pieces. As a trial to accomplish uniform cooling, therefore, there exist various mixing methods of a quenchant and the quenchant circulation with an external pump has so far been the well accepted mixing method. However, this study proposes an advanced oscillation mixing method that can improve more the cooling uniformity in quenching. The proposed method includes a stirrer in oscillating motion, so that the simultaneous oscillating and mixing movements of the stirrer are considered to provide efecfively the uniform cooling characteristics for the quenchant. In comparison with the case of the circulation pump mixing, the investigation using the oscillation mixing method has demonstrated the following two experimental facts:(1) the short vapor blanket stage caused by the quick breakage of the oil vapor blanket and (2) the reduced variation of the quenching distortion. 相似文献

The stability changes caused by single amino acid substitutionsare studied by a simple, empirical method which takes accountof the free energy change in the compact denatured state aswell as in the native state. The conformational free energyis estimated from effective inter-residue contact energies,as evaluated in our previous study. When this method is applied,with a simple assumption about the compactness of the denaturedstate, for single amino acid replacements at Glu49 of the tryptophansynthase subunit and at Ile3 of bacteriophage T4 lysozyme,the estimates of the unfolding Gibbs free energy changes correlatewell with observed values, especially for hydrophobic aminoacids, and it also yields the same magnitudes of energy as theobserved values for both proteins. When it is also applied foramino acid replacements at various positions to estimate theaverage number of contacts at each position in the denaturedstate from the observed value of unfolding free energy change,those values for replacements with Gly and Ala at the same residueposition in staphylococcal nuclease correlate well with eachother. The estimated numbers of contacts indicate that the proteinis not fully expanded in the denatured state and also that thecompact denatured state may have a substantially native-liketopology, like the molten globule state, in that there is aweak correlation between the estimated average number of contactsat each residue position in the denatured state and the numberof contacts in the native structure. These results provide somefurther evidence that the inter-residue contact energies asapplied here (i) properly reflect actual inter-residue interactionsand (ii) can be considered to be a pairwise hydrophobicity scale.Also, the results indicate that characterization of the denaturedstate is critical to understanding the folding process. 相似文献

Solution-processed copper(I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) typically exhibits low crystallinity with short-range order; the defects result in a high density of trap states that limit the device's performance. Despite the extensive electronic applications of CuSCN, its defect properties are not understood in detail. Through X-ray absorption spectroscopy, pristine CuSCN prepared from the standard diethyl sulfide-based recipe is found to contain under-coordinated Cu atoms, pointing to the presence of SCN− vacancies. A defect passivation strategy is introduced by adding solid I2 to the processing solution. At small concentrations, the iodine is found to exist as I− which can substitute for the missing SCN− ligand, effectively healing the defective sites and restoring the coordination around Cu. Computational study results also verify this point. Applying I2-doped CuSCN as a p-channel in thin-film transistors shows that the hole mobility increases by more than five times at the optimal doping concentration of 0.5 mol.%. Importantly, the on/off current ratio and the subthreshold characteristics also improve as the I2 doping method leads to the defect-healing effect while avoiding the creation of detrimental impurity states. An analysis of the capacitance-voltage characteristics corroborates that the trap state density is reduced upon I2 addition. 相似文献

The properties of a quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) electron system on liquid helium are considered and the experiments on the carrier transport are presented. It has been shown that the electron mobility changes from high values close to that for bulk helium to very small values as a function of the Q1D channel width. Such a behaviour of is connected to a gradual transition from the regime of the quasi-free movement of the carriers in a Q1D system to the conditions of strong localization of the electrons. In the last case depends on temperature exponentially with the activation energy of a few degrees.
It is predicted that in Q1D channels in regime of the localization two optical plasmon branches can exist. One of them (a high frequency branch) is connected with the oscillations of electrons in potential wells and another one has lower frequency and is due to the oscillations of dimples, which are created by localized electrons on the liquid helium surface, in the potential wells.
Possible new experiments on study of magnetotransport, plasma oscillations and phase diagram of ordered-disordered states in a Q1D electron system of a finite length over liquid helium are proposed and discussed. 相似文献

Thick silica films were prepared by the electrophoretic sol–gel deposition technique in the presence of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) using monodispersed silica particles; the particles were prepared by the sol–gel method, pre-heat treated and then re-dispersed in the mixture of H2O and ethanol. The weight of deposited silica films was maximized when 0.2 mass % of PAA against the whole amount of sol was added. The particles constructing the thick silica films were packed densely when the amount of added PAA was less than 0.2 mass%. The weight of the film increased with decrease in the content of H2O in the sol when a fixed amount of PAA was added. An implicit tenet of modern search heuristics is that there is a mutually exclusive balance between two desirable goals: search
diversity (or distribution), i.e., search through a maximum number of distinct areas, and, search intensity, i.e., a maximum
search exploitation within each specific area. We claim that the hypothesis that these goals are mutually exclusive is false
in parallel systems. We argue that it is possible to devise methods that exhibit high search intensity and high search diversity
during the whole algorithmic execution. It is considered how distance metrics, i.e., functions for measuring diversity (given
by the minimum number of local search steps between two solutions) and coordination policies, i.e., mechanisms for directing
and redirecting search processes based on the information acquired by the distance metrics, can be used together to integrate
a framework for the development of advanced collective search methods that present such desiderata of search intensity and
search diversity under simultaneous coexistence. The presented model also avoids the undesirable occurrence of a problem we
refer to as the ‘ergometric bike phenomenon’. Finally, this work is one of the very few analysis accomplished on a level of
meta-meta-heuristics, because all arguments are independent of specific problems handled (such as scheduling, planning, etc.),
of specific solution methods (such as genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, tabu search, etc.) and of specific neighborhood

This paper considers a multiobjective linear programming problem involving fuzzy random variable coefficients. A new fuzzy random programming model is proposed by extending the ideas of level set-based optimality and a stochastic programming model. The original problem involving fuzzy random variables is transformed into a deterministic equivalent problem through the proposed model. An interactive algorithm is provided to obtain a satisficing solution for a decision maker from among a set of newly defined Pareto optimal solutions. It is shown that an optimal solution of the problem to be solved iteratively in the interactive algorithm is analytically obtained by a combination of the bisection method and the simplex method. 相似文献

Although several sex pheromones of the family Geometridae have been characterized, investigations on Japanese species are limited. In order to obtain more information, screening using known sex pheromones and their analogs was carried out. The (Z,Z,Z)-3,6,9-triunsaturated and (Z,Z)-6,9-diunsaturated hydrocarbons with straight C19-C21 chains were synthesized by the Grignard coupling reaction as a key step starting from linolenic and linoleic acids, respectively. Oxidation of the homoconjugated trienes withm-chloroperoxybenzoic acid yielded a 111 mixture of three monoepoxy derivatives that could be separated by silica gel chromatography. The chemical structure of each positional isomer was confirmed using two-dimensional NMR techniques and MS measurements, which enabled characteristic fragment ions from the isomers to be identified. Field tests using lures incorporating only one of the above six hydrocarbons or nine epoxides were carried out in a forest in Tokyo. Consequently, attraction of male moths of 14 geometrid species in addition to four species in another family, the Noctuidae, was observed. It was concluded that hydrocarbons with a homoconjugated polyene system and the monoepoxy derivatives are important components of sex pheromones produced by Japanese lepidopterous insects, particularly the geometrid moths. 相似文献
