The effect of precipitates on room-temperature tensile ductility, specifically post-uniform elongation (local elongation), was investigated in three magnesium alloys. The alloys were prepared by extrusion and had different types of precipitate morphology. Tensile tests revealed an almost total absence of local elongation in an alloy with intergranular precipitate particles (a few hundred nanometers in diameter), in spite of a relatively high total elongation to fracture of 17%. On the other hand, an alloy with densely dispersed fine intragranular precipitates (up to a few tens of nanometers in diameter) showed the highest local elongation at 17% and an alloy with a sparse dispersion showed moderate local elongation. The fracture surfaces of the latter two alloys had a primarily ductile appearance with dimples. For the specimen that showed the highest local elongation, twinning was observed in the necked portion, whereas very few twins were observed in the uniformly elongated portion. It was suggested that fine precipitates in the grain interior inhibit the formation of twins, a feature that can be exploited to enhance local elongation in magnesium alloys.  相似文献

Fatty acids are converted into energy via beta-oxidation. Although almost all natural occurring fatty acids are even-numbered, there are some odd-numbered fatty acids too. The details of the metabolism rate of odd-numbered fatty acids, however, are not clear. In the present study, we simultaneously administered a triacylglycerol containing four types of labeled even-numbered (palmitic acid and stearic acid) and odd-numbered (pentadecanoic acid and heptadecanoic acid) fatty acids to mice to compare the rates of their metabolism. The rates of metabolism were evaluated based on the accumulation of the labeled fatty acids in the small intestine epithelium, liver, and epididymal fat. Odd-numbered fatty acids accumulated mainly in the epididymal fat. In contrast, there was no accumulation of even-numbered fatty acids observed in the small intestine epithelium, liver, or epididymal fat. These results suggest that odd-numbered fatty acids might not be favorable substrates for beta-oxidation-related enzymes.  相似文献

Among the supported Cu–FeOx catalysts, Al2O3-supported Cu–FeOx catalyst exhibited the highest activity for WGS reaction. The enhancement of the catalytic activity by adding FeOx to Cu/Al2O3 could be interpreted by the two possibilities; one is the formation of highly dispersed Cu0 and the other is the participation of reduced FeOx in WGS reaction in the presence of Cu0.  相似文献

The objective is to characterize the effects of the bimodal distribution of rubber particles and its blend ratio on the mechanical properties of the thermoplastic polypropylene blended with two different styrene‐ethylene‐butadiene‐styrene triblock copolymer at the intermediate and high strain rates. Tensile tests are conducted at the nominal strain rates from 3 × 10?1 to 102 (1/s). Phase morphology is investigated to estimate the bimodal rubber particle size distribution. In addition, the in situ observation is conducted during uniaxially stretching within transmission electron microscopy step by step to investigate the deformation events depending on the elongation of samples. The elastic modulus increased gradually as the blend ratio of large rubber particle increased. An increase in the rupture strain and the strain energy up to failure was found for the bimodal rubber particle distributed blend system where the blend ratios of small rubber particle and large rubber particle were same. This is because the smaller particles dominant blend systems show the bandlike craze deformation while the localized plastic deformation is taken place in the larger particles dominated blend systems. The synergistic effect of these rubber particles gives rise to a strong increase in the ductility of these bimodal rubber particle distributed polypropylene systems. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Silica‐filled styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR) unvulcanizates and their vulcanizates with different rubber/filler interactions were prepared by using several kinds of coupling agents. Tensile tests and electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements were carried out for both unvulcanized and vulcanized samples to get information on the effects of filler/rubber interactions on the breakdown of carbon–carbon (C? C) linkages in SBR and carbon–sulfur (C? S? C, C? S? S? C) linkages at the crosslinked points between rubber and sulfur by a tensile force. The combination of ESR results and stress–strain data suggested that with increasing the mechanical energy applied to the samples by the stretching, the carbon–sulfur linkages around silica particles were broken first, followed by the breakdown of carbon–sulfur and C? The electrooxidation of methanol, ethanol, and 2-propanol was investigated with interdigitated array electrodes (IDAEs). The IDAE oxidizes alcohol at the generator and reduces the reaction intermediates produced by the oxidation process at the collector. Thus, the reaction intermediates can be estimated with the IDAE. The IDAE in the present work was made of sputter deposited Pt and Pt–Ru. The use of Ru free and added electrodes provides information on the effect of Ru addition on the alcohol oxidation. Cyclic voltammetric analyses revealed that Ru addition enhances the oxidation currents and reduces the Eonset of the alcohols. The detectable reaction intermediate at the methanol and ethanol oxidation was proton, while the intermediate species was acetone in 2-propnaol oxidation.  相似文献

In this study, HCl emission during the co-pyrolysis of demolition wood and a small amount of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film (the Cl content of which ranged from 0.5% to 6% by weight) in an N2 atmosphere at elevated temperatures of up to 600 °C was measured using a laboratory-scale cylindrical batch reactor. In the pyrolysis experiments, HCl emission was reduced by the presence of wood. The effect of the primary constituents of wood (cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin) on HCl emission was investigated by not only measuring HCl emission and Cl distribution to various phases during the co-pyrolysis of each constituent with PVC film but also by conducting thermogravimetric analysis of the constituents. This investigation first revealed that hemicellulose significantly reduced HCl emission by fixing most of the Cl molecules in a sample into pyrolyzed residue.  相似文献

Resolution of insect pheromonal cis-epoxydiene racemates derived from (Z,Z,Z)-3,6,9-trienes was examined with a reversed-phase chiral HPLC column. The results showed that a Chiralcel OJ-R column was suitable for separating the enantiomers having a C17–C23 unsaturated straight chain except for 9,10-epoxydienes with a C21–C23 chain. To determine the absolute configuration of the separated enantiomers, each of the optically active epoxydienes was hydrogenated over Pd-BaSO4 and its behavior was examined on this chiral column by cochromatography with the corresponding chiral epoxy compound having a saturated chain, which was prepared via a Sharpless epoxidation reaction. This analysis showed that the dextrorotatory C17–C23 3,4- and 6,7-epoxydienes and C17–C20 9,10-epoxydienes with shorter R ts possess (3S,4R)-, (6S,7R)-, and (9R,10S) configurations, respectively, and the levorotatory enantiomers with longer R ts possess the opposite configuration. An abdominal tip extract of the mulberry looper, Hemerophila artilineata Butler (Lepidoptera: Geometridae: Ennominae), included (9S,10R)-(Z,Z)-cis-9,10-epoxy-3,6-octadecadiene as a main sex pheromone component. The synthetic (9S,10R)-9,10-epoxydiene, rather than its antipode, elicited strong antennal and behavioral responses from the male moths in electrophysiological and field tests.  相似文献

Effect of Gallia Addition on the Sintering Behavior of Samaria-Doped Ceria   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Samaria-doped ceria (SDC) was prepared by using the solid-state reaction method. Sintering of SDC was significantly promoted by adding a small amount of gallium. SDC that had 1% of gallium added, sintered at 1450°C, showed almost the same properties as SDC sintered at 1600°C. Measurements showed that the addition of gallia could reduce the sintering temperature by 150°C without deteriorating the properties of SDC as an electrolyte for solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

局部加压方法是压铸中用于消除铸件厚壁处缩孔缺陷的一种新工艺.该研究通过试验模型测量局部加压过程中金属型、铸件和加压杆的温度变化曲线,分析了传热与凝固现象.结果表明,局部加压使铸件的凝固时间大为缩短,加压杆前端的温度大幅上升,而金属型的温度则无明显变化.利用变网格技术,根据加压深度通过适时修改网格文件、初始条件和边界条件的方法,模拟了铝合金在局部加压过程中的凝固变化,并与试验结果进行了对比和讨论.  相似文献
