A new technique for optimal planning of MV and LV segments of a distribution system is presented in this paper. The main goal is to find optimally distribution transformer and substation locations and ratings, as well as, the route and type of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) feeders. The proposed technique is applicable to both uniform and non-uniform load densities areas. In this method, the planning area is divided into regions with relatively uniform load density such as urban, semi-urban, sub-urban. Each of regions is divided into zones, called LV zone. Each LV zone is supplied by an MV/LV transformer. The dimensions of LV zones are found based on the average load of each region. The placement and rating of MV/LV transformers, the type and route of LV conductors in an LV zone all depend on its loads’ location and power. Regarding the placement and rating of MV/LV transformers in planning area and the space of regions, the dimensions of a zone which is supplied by a HV/MV transformer, called MV zone, is determined. Additionally, the location and rating of HV/MV transformers as well as the feeder's routes and types are calculated. Since the dimensions of an LV zone influence the associated length of MV feeder, the MV feeder cost needs to be included in the total cost associated with the LV zone. This requires the MV feeder type to be known to calculate the corresponding cost. However, the MV feeder type is determined as an output from MV zone planning. As a result, an iterative based method is proposed to consider this common element in computations to develop integrated planning of both LV and MV zones. It is observed that the iterative technique quickly converges to the same results as the exhaustive search method.Discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) method is employed for solving the planning problem. The results are compared with nonlinear programming, genetic algorithm and exhaustive search methods. It is observed that DPSO is as accurate as the exhaustive search method for integrated planning of MV-LV distribution systems while its computation time is significantly lower. 相似文献

Polypropylene/Ethylene–Propylene–Diene–Monomer (PP/EPDM) blends are well known for having a combination of favourable mechanical properties. In this paper, addition of organoclay to PP/EPDM to make PP/EPDM nanocomposites with enhanced mechanical properties is studied. PP/EPDM/organoclay nanocomposites were prepared using a lab scale twin-screw extruder. Maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MA) was used to enhance the intercalation/exfoliation process and to create good adhesion at the polymer/polymer and polymer/filler interfaces. Taguchi method was employed to deign the experiments and optimize material and processing parameters for optimized mechanical properties. Organoclay (NC) and compatibilizer content were selected as material parameters and the main processing variables were feeding rate and average shear rate (RPM). X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) were used to study the microstructure of the nanocomposites samples. It was observed that NC content and shear rate in extruder improved the tensile strength and modulus. Another important result was the insignificant effect of NC content on impact strength while increasing shear rate first increased and then decreased the impact strength. 相似文献

The performances of single-pass vertically loaded fibrous peat biofilters treating septic tank wastewater from a single household (pe 6) and a small rural housing estate (pe ~100) are compared. Both systems achieved >90% BOD removal and consistently low suspended solids <11?mg?L?1. Pathogen removal was generally >95% but inconsistent. Nitrification was linked to temperature with removal rates seasonal (50–98%) with no denitrification; this resulted in final effluents with either high NH4 or NO3 concentrations, both unsuitable for discharge to surface or ground waters. Phosphorus removal was generally poor. The filters responded poorly to sudden increases in hydraulic loading, causing a reduction in BOD removal in particular. Subsequent soil treatment of effluents after filtration caused a small decrease in both physicochemical and microbial quality. Single-pass vertical peat filters cannot meet the more stringent EU nutrient and microbial standards required for on-site treatment without tertiary treatment to ensure full compliance. 相似文献

rule. Calculated pressures and mole fractions of vapor phase are compared with experimental data. The average absolute percentage
deviation indicates that error involved in the application of modified Wong-Sandler model is less than Wong-Sandler model

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) facilitate the majority of signal transductions across cell membranes in humans, with numerous diseases attributed to inactivating GPCR mutations. Many of these mutations result in misfolding during nascent receptor synthesis in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), resulting in intracellular retention and degradation. Pharmacological chaperones (PCs) are cell-permeant small molecules that can interact with misfolded receptors in the ER and stabilise/rescue their folding to promote ER exit and trafficking to the cell membrane. The neurokinin 3 receptor (NK3R) plays a pivotal role in the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal reproductive axis. We sought to determine whether NK3R missense mutations result in a loss of cell surface receptor expression and, if so, whether a cell-permeant small molecule NK3R antagonist could be repurposed as a PC to restore function to these mutants. Quantitation of cell surface expression levels of seven mutant NK3Rs identified in hypogonadal patients indicated that five had severely impaired cell surface expression. A small molecule NK3R antagonist, M8, increased cell surface expression in four of these five and resulted in post-translational receptor processing in a manner analogous to the wild type. Importantly, there was a significant improvement in receptor activation in response to neurokinin B (NKB) for all four receptors following their rescue with M8. This demonstrates that M8 may have potential for therapeutic development in the treatment of hypogonadal patients harbouring NK3R mutations. The repurposing of existing small molecule GPCR modulators as PCs represents a novel and therapeutically viable option for the treatment of disorders attributed to mutations in GPCRs that cause intracellular retention. 相似文献

IEEE 802.11i authentication framework is composed of the 802.1x and an extensible authentication protocol (EAP) mechanism. One of the most applicable techniques in the EAP methods is EAP-transport layer security (EAP-TLS). The EAP-TLS implementation issues are high execution time; high number of data exchanges between two parties and possibility of closing connection as a result of modification in the contents of the handshake messages, which are all addressed in this paper. This research analyses the EAP-TLS in WLANs to improve this method’s efficiency in terms of the security analysis, time and memory usage. Based on the results, this research proposes an enhanced method with a discrete cryptographic mechanisms and a distinct handshake structure, which reduces the number of steps in the handshake protocol. This enhanced method also provides robust security compared to the original EAP-TLS with approximately the same level of memory usage, which reduces execution time significantly. 相似文献

This paper studies the applicability of extrusion-based 3D printing for constructing novel shapes from potato puree and the effects of four additives (agar, alginate, lecithin, and glycerol) added separately at three concentrations (0.5, 1, 1.5%) on the internal strength, mechanical properties, microstructure, and color of potato puree. The printability of the potato puree and the mixtures was assayed by examining the consistency of the extrusions and the stability and accuracy of the printed patterns. The results indicate that better printing was achieved at a nozzle height of 0.5 cm and a nozzle diameter of 4 mm, with concentrations of alginate and agar between 0.5–1.5% and 0.5–1%, respectively, providing the best printability and end product stability, which was attributed to their respective high mechanical characteristics and specific mechanical energy (SME) values. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that more convolutions were induced in the potato puree upon the addition of agar or alginate, which increased the puree stability. 3D printing did not significantly affect the surface color parameters of the final product. This study showed that the 3D printing process is a critical factor for initializing the production of customized healthy products. 相似文献

This article presents a continuous dynamical system model learning methodology that can be used to generate reference trajectories for the autonomous systems to follow, such that these trajectories are invariant to a given closed set and uniformly ultimately bounded with respect to an equilibrium point inside the closed set. The autonomous system dynamics are approximated using extreme learning machines (ELM), the parameters of which are learned subject to the safety constraints expressed using a reciprocal barrier function, and the stability constraints derived using a Lyapunov analysis in the presence of the ELM reconstruction error. This formulation leads to solving a constrained quadratic program (QP) that includes a finite number of decision variables with an infinite number of constraints. Theorems are developed to relax the QP with infinite number of constraints to a QP with a finite number of constraints which can be practically implemented using a QP solver. In addition, an active sampling methodology is developed that further reduced the number of required constraints for the QP by only evaluating the constraints at a smaller subset of points. The proposed method is validated using a motion reproduction task on a seven degree-of-freedom Baxter robot, where the task space position and velocity dynamics are learned using the presented methodology. 相似文献
