This study investigated the influence of PUFA on the properties of mouse skin. Mice (3 wk old) were given free access to oils
high in linoleic acid, CLA, or DHA for 4 wk. At the end of the experiment, their skins were compared by both biochemical and
histological methods. No significant differences in lipid and collagen contents were detected among treatments, although the
FA composition in the skin was altered depending upon the FA composition of the supplemented oils. Electron microscopy revealed
that the subcutaneous tissue layers in the CLA and DHA groups were significantly thinner than that in the high linoleic acid
group, whereas no differences in the thickness of dermis layers were observed among the three groups. These results suggest

Reactivities of several coals of different ranks have been examined in degrading extractions with aromatic solvents under apparently non-hydrogenative reaction conditions. Pyrene and A240 pitch liquefied the fusible coals in high yields and the slightly-fusible coals in moderate yields, indicating the importance of fusibility in such liquefaction processes. A240-LS pitch is a powerful solvent for slightly-fusible coals. Considerable amounts of pyridine- or THF-soluble fractions were produced especially with A240-LS pitch. A240 pitch is a better solvent than pyrene for some slightly-fusible coals. However, the extent of depolymerization of liquefied coal, pyridine- or THF-solubility, was definitely inferior. Yields of such fractions are higher for lower-rank coals. The mechanism of coal liquefaction under apparently non-hydrogenative conditions is discussed with emphasis on the stabilization of thermal fragments derived from the coal. 相似文献

By applying square wave AC voltage to the Au source electrode of tetracene based field-effect transistor (FET), electroluminescence (EL) was obtained. The results suggest that electrons and holes were injected alternately from the source electrode and recombined each other, and lead to the EL. This type of EL was localized at the interface between the source electrode and tetracene, and enhanced periodically with two relaxation times in accordance with the applied AC voltage cycle. We modeled the carrier behavior in the FET and explained the decay of EL, taking into account the space charge field contribution. Finally, using an AC voltage superposed on DC bias voltage, it was shown that electron injection was prompted only by space charge field. 相似文献

Fabrication and characterization of polyterpenol as an insulating layer and incorporated organic field effect transistor 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A non-synthetic polymer material, polyterpenol, was fabricated using a dry polymerization process namely RF plasma polymerization from an environmentally friendly monomer and its surface, optical and electrical properties investigated. Polyterpenol films were found to be transparent over the visible wavelength range, with a smooth surface with an average roughness of less than 0.4 nm and hardness of 0.4 GPa. The dielectric constant of 3.4 for polyterpenol was higher than that of the conventional polymer materials used in the organic electronic devices. The non-synthetic polymer material was then implemented as a surface modification of the gate insulator in field effect transistor (OFET) and the properties of the device were examined. In comparison to the similar device without the polymer insulating layer, the polyterpenol based OFET device showed significant improvements. The addition of the polyterpenol interlayer in the OFET shifted the threshold voltage significantly; + 20 V to −3 V. The presence of trapped charge was not observed in the polyterpenol interlayer. This assisted in the improvement of effective mobility from 0.012 to 0.021 cm2/Vs. The switching property of the polyterpenol based OFET was also improved; 107 compared to 104. The results showed that the non-synthetic polyterpenol polymer film is a promising candidate of insulators in electronic devices. 相似文献

Pure-phase LiAl5O8 was selected as an oxide ceramic red phosphor material without dopants (color centers) and was synthesized using a self-flux method. The LiAl5O8 was formed by heating a powder mixture consisting of γ-Al2O3:Li2SO4 = 1:2 (molar ratio) at over 1100 °C for 1 h. Photoluminescence (PL) properties for the synthesized LiAl5O8 were investigated. The maximum intensity of the excitation spectrum for the photoluminescent emission of LiAl5O8 synthesized was at 274 nm. The peak intensity of the emission spectrum was at a wavelength of 667 nm (red color). The intensity of the peak emission spectrum increased with the heating temperature, i.e., the maximum peak intensity of the red emission spectrum was detected for the LiAl5O8 synthesized by heating at 1500 °C for 1 h. 相似文献

An accurate analysis of a large dynamic system like our oceans requires spatially fine and temporally matched data collection
methods. Current methods to estimate fish stock size from pelagic (marine) fish egg abundance by using ships to take point
samples of fish eggs have large margins of error due to spatial and temporal undersampling. The real-time flow imaging and
classification system (REFLICS) enhances fish egg sampling by obtaining continuous, accurate information on fish egg abundance
as the ship cruises along in the area of interest. REFLICS images the dynamic flow with a progressive-scan area camera (60
frames/s) and a synchronized strobe in backlighting configuration. Digitization and processing occur on a dual-processor Pentium
II PC and a pipeline-based image-processing board. REFLICS uses a segmentation algorithm to locate fish-egg-like objects in
the image and then a classifier to determine fish egg, species, and development stage (age). We present an integrated system
design of REFLICS and performance results. REFLICS can perform in real time (60 Hz), classify fish eggs with low false negative
rates on real data collected from a cruise, and work in harsh conditions aboard ships at sea. REFLICS enables cost-effective,
real-time assessment of pelagic fish eggs for research and management.

Coupon specimens of TiAl were implanted with Nb ions at an acceleration voltage of 50 kV with a dose of 1021 ions m.–2 They were then slightly oxidized during heating to 900 or 1200 K, or at 1200 K for 3.6 ksec (1 hr) in a flow of purified oxygen under atmospheric pressure. The implanted specimens and oxidized specimens were characterized and observed by AES, X-ray diffractometry, SEM, TEM, EDS, and EPMA. Implantation improves the oxidation resistance significantly by forming virtually -Al2O3 scales. The implanted layer is about 75 nm thick; the outer part of 30-nm thickness is -Ti phase and the rest of 45-nm thickness is amorphous. Heating to 900 K in O2 results in partial crystallization of the amorphous layer to Ti5Al3O2 (Z-phase) and to 1200 K results in oxide scales of 270 to 400 nm thickness consisting mainly of Al2O3. The fraction of Al2O3 in the scale increases toward the substrate. Oxidation at 1200 K for 3.6 ksec results in Al2O3-rich scales of about 400-nm thickness. The oxide grain size is very fine, about 80 nm in size, and becomes smaller toward the outer scale surface. This implies that implantation enhanced the nucleation of Al2O3 grains relative to the growth of TiO2 grains. This finding and the formation of -Ti phase are thought to be responsible for the excellent oxidation resistance obtained. 相似文献

We evaluated the effects of FR901533, endothelin converting enzyme inhibitor, on development of right ventricular overload and medial thickening of pulmonary arteries in rats with monocrotaline-induced pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary hypertension was induced by a single injection of monocrotaline (80 mg/kg). Twenty-four hours later (day 1), continuous subcutaneous injection of FR901533 (100 mg/kg/day) was started. Right ventricular systolic pressure, mass ratio of right ventricle to left ventricle, right ventricular wall thickness, right ventricular myocardial fiber diameter, percent medial thickness, and percent smooth muscle area in pulmonary arteries were significantly less in rats that received FR901533 than in the control with monocrotaline on day 28. Both immunoreactivities of endothelin-1 in pulmonary arteries and plasma endothelin-1 levels were observed significantly less in rats treated with FR901533 than in the control with monocrotaline. There were significant increased immunoreactivities of endothelin-B receptor in pulmonary arteries in rats that received FR901533 as compared with those in the control with monocrotaline. FR901533 (100 mg/kg/day), protected the development of right ventricular overload and medial thickening of pulmonary arteries in a rat model of pulmonary hypertension. 相似文献
