Specimens of two kinds of isotropic nuclear graphite, IG-110U and ETP-10, were neutron-irradiated at fluence of 1.92 × 1024 n/m2 (E > 1.0 MeV) at 473 K. The recoveries of the macroscopic lengths of these specimens during isothermal and isochronal annealing at temperatures of up to 1673 K were investigated in a step-wise manner by using a precision dilatometer. The macroscopic lengths after isochronal annealing for 6 h at each temperature decreased gradually as the temperature was increased to 1673 K. The recovery trends of the c-axis and a-axis lattice parameters differed from one another, and from the macroscopic length recovery trends. For the IG-110U specimen, the activation energies (Ea) of macroscopic volume recovery corresponding to annealing at 523–773, 773–923, 923–1073, and 1073–1173 K were found to be 0.15, 0.34, 0.73, and 2.59 eV, respectively. For the ETP-10 specimen, the Ea corresponding to 523–923, 923–1223, and 1223–1373 K were determined to be 0.15, 0.46, and 2.19 eV, respectively. These results indicate that both graphite specimens underwent three or four stages of macroscopic length recovery between 523 K and the annealing temperatures at which their initial lengths were recovered. It is suggested that during the first stage recovery proceeded via the migration of single interstitials along the basal plane and the resulting V-I recombination. In the middle stages, recovery occurred due to the migration of interstitial groups such as C2 along the basal plane, while in the last stage, it proceeded via through-layer migration of interstitials or migration of single vacancies.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of precipitation phases on the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) sensitivity of Inconel 718 by means of tensile tests. Hydrogen was charged into the test specimens via a cathodic charging process prior to the tensile tests. Various heat treatments were applied to conventionally aged specimens to fabricate specimens with different precipitation conditions for the γ″ phase and the δ phase. For each precipitation condition, we fabricated two specimens, one of which was charged with hydrogen before the tensile test. All specimens were tensioned under identical tensile conditions. The percent loss of the reduction of area (RA) caused by pre-charged hydrogen was used to assess HE sensitivity. Both the δ phase and the γ″ phase were found to play significant roles in altering HE sensitivity of Inconel 718. When these phases were totally dissolved, the HE sensitivity of the alloy was very low. The percent loss of RA decreased along with a decrease in the fractional volume of γ″. The δ-free aged alloy had greatly enhanced HE resistance, the same level as that of conventionally annealed alloy, and its strength was equal to that of the conventionally aged alloy. Fracture origins noted on the specimens were located on the surface layers and displayed brittle cleavage when pre-charged hydrogen was utilized. Local transgranular cleavages initiated from the δ/matrix were also observed in conventionally aged specimens, where there was a presence of pre-charged hydrogen. Therefore, the δ phase was considered to promote HE by initializing micro-cracks from δ/matrix interfaces. Since the d-free aged alloy has both good strength and good ductility, we propose that it is advantageous for fabricating some hydrogen-containing parts.  相似文献

In this paper, a cryogenic refrigeration method is described, which utilizes CO2 solid–gas two phase flow and the dry ice. The CO2 solid–gas two phase flow is achieved by expanding liquid CO2 and thus refrigeration process less than CO2 triple point −56.6 °C can be available. The experimental work is divided into two parts and two experimental set-ups were designed, constructed and tested. The interest of the first experiment test is the feasibility of expanding liquid CO2 into CO2 solid–gas flow in a horizontal circular tube by expansion valve. The second experiment focuses on the feasibility of the refrigeration of liquid CO2 expanding into solid–gas two phase flows used in a prototype CO2 heat pump system. The results show that solid–gas two phase flows can be achieved by expanding liquid CO2 by expansion valve in a closed CO2 heat pump system loop and low temperature refrigeration below −56.6 °C is achieved in the experiments, which give greater possibility to create a cryogenic refrigeration process below −56.6 °C for food industries, bio-medical engineering, etc.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of type?I clathrate Ba8Ni x Ge46?x (x?=?3, 4, 6) have been synthesized using a radio-frequency (RF) induction furnace. Ba8Ni x Ge46?x samples show metallic-like behavior (d??/dT?>?0) with high resistivity at room temperature, and diamagnetic susceptibility at 2?K and 300?K. The charge carriers vary from n type to p type depending on the Ni stoichiometry. The carrier concentrations at 300?K are calculated to be 5.84(3)?e?/cell for x?=?3, 2.29(1)?e?/cell for x?=?4, and 3.29(1)?h+/cell for x?=?6. The deviation of the carrier concentrations from the values expected based on 4-bonded Ni suggests that vacancies may play a very important role in the electronic states. The effective carrier masses are estimated from the low-temperature heat capacity data.  相似文献

The effects of thermal treatment on Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) reagent were studied. Thermal resistances of enzymes and coagulogen in LAL reagent were evaluated by aggregometry and SDS-PAGE. Although enzyme activities of LAL reagent were completely lost after heating at temperatures above 60 °C for 10 min, gelating activities of coagulogen were retained even over 80 °C. Phenylmethanesulfonyl fluoride (PMSF; 1 mmol/mL), a strong non-specific serine-protease inhibitor, did not completely inactivate serine-protease activities of LAL. As a result, complete hydrolysis of coagulogen to coagulin was unexpectedly obtained. Solvent treatment of LAL was similar in effect to thermal treatment of LAL, but there were 2 problems: complete removal of solvent from samples and increased solution turbidity during preparation. To study the application of thermal-treated LAL, we conjugated it with titania particles. LAL-conjugated titania particles were obtained as small aggregates between titania nanoparticles and thermal-treated LAL (LAL-conjugated microbeads; LCM). When the mixture of LCMs and fresh LAL reagent was reacted with endotoxin an acute aggregation of LCMs was induced prior to the aggregate formation of LAL as monitored by stirring turbidimetry. This method, endotoxin microbeads aggregometry (EMA) may provide a rapid and sensitive method for endotoxin determination.  相似文献

Guar gum has a well-recognized hypolipidemic effect. This effect is thought to be due to the physicochemical properties of guar gum, which may cause changes in adsorption of lipids or the viscosity of the intestinal contents. Guar gum is a non-specific absorption inhibitor of any type of lipid-soluble compound. Permanent lymph duct cannulation was performed on rats to investigate the effects of dietary guar gum on lymph flow and lipid transport. Rats fed a 5% guar gum diet were compared with those fed a 5% cellulose diet, and lymph was collected after feeding. The water-holding capacity (WHC), settling volume in water (SV), and viscosity of guar gum were compared with those of cellulose. Rats fed with the guar gum diet had significantly lower lymph flow and lymphatic lipid transport than did rats fed with the cellulose diet. The WHC, SV, and viscosity of guar gum were significantly higher than those of cellulose. We propose that dietary guar gum reduces lymph flow and thereby diminishes lipid transport by means of its physicochemical properties related to water behavior in the intestine.  相似文献

This paper presents a systematic development of a unified signal flow graph model for an interleaved DC–DC parallel converter system operating in continuous current mode. This signal flow graph approach provides a means to translate directly the switching converter to its graphic model, from which the steady-state and dynamic behaviour of the converter can be studied easily. The development of a unified signal flow graph is explained for a three-cell interleaved parallel converter system. Derivation of large-signal, small-signal and steady-state models from a unified signal flow graph is demonstrated by considering a two-cell interleaved converter system operating in complementary activation mode. Converter performance expressions such as steady-state voltage gain, efficiency expressions and small-signal characteristic transfer functions are also derived. A large-signal model was programmed in a TUTSIM simulator, and the large-signal responses against supply and load disturbances were predicted. Signal flow graph analysis results are validated with PSIM simulations. Experimental observations are provided to validate the signal flow graph modelling method. Further, the mathematical models obtained from the signal flow graph modelling are in agreement with those obtained from the state-space averaging technique.  相似文献

The arrangement of permanent magnets in double‐layer interior permanent‐magnet motors is optimized for variable‐speed applications. First, the arrangement of magnets is decided by automatic optimization. Next, the superiority of the optimized motor is discussed by considering d‐ and q‐axis equivalent circuits that take into account the magnetic saturation of the rotor core. Finally, experimental veri?cation is carried out with a prototype motor. It is con?rmed that the maximum torque of the optimized motor under both low‐speed and high‐speed conditions is higher than that of conventional motors because of the relatively large q‐axis inductance and small d‐axis inductance. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this article we propose the adaptive learning algorithm of neural network with respect to a rapid temperature change of forecasted day. The proposed adaptive learning algorithm is used to shift the learning range of previous year of forecasted day. Therefore, the proposed neural network can be trained by using learning data, including the maximum temperature to be forecasted. The suitability of the proposed approach is illustrated through an application to actual load data of Okinawa Electric Power Company in Japan.  相似文献
