Providing effective medium access for wireless networks is a challenging task. Most of the existing protocols of IEEE 802.11
Medium Access Control (MAC) work towards the goal of achieving effective channel access by developing various backoff procedures.
In this paper, we make an attempt to develop a new medium access protocol named Learning Automata (LA) based Wireless Channel
Reservation (LAWCR). We use an LA approach to implement reservation for channel access for single hop wireless networks. Also,
sequence procedure is used to improve the reservation mechanism. The performance of the proposed LAWCR scheme show significant
improvements over the legacy DCF protocol with respect to important criteria such as the average time spent in the buffer

In the present communication we have presented a detailed theoretical analysis of the performance of the sub-micron device in the presence of the discontinuity at the Si–SiO2 interface. It is assumed that due to interface discontinuity a potential develops at the edges (Source/Drain) in addition to the built-in-potential. This potential, called Edge Potential, measures directly the extent of the interface roughness. The effect of this potential is more critical in the case of short channel device where drain and source are in close proximity. Our analysis shows that the discontinuity is dominant at the edges but not in the channel. Drive current as well as saturation transconductance decreases in the presence of edge potential. These results suggest that the performance of the device degrades due to the interface roughness. Effect of interface roughness near the edges can be reduced at high gate voltage but it will result more interface roughness scattering. 相似文献

Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)‐based composites were prepared by incorporating short nylon fibers of different lengths and concentration into the matrix using a two‐roll mixing mill according to a base formulation. The curing characteristics of the samples were studied. The influence of fiber length, loading, and rubber crosslinking systems on the properties of the composites was analyzed. Surface morphology of the composites has been studied using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Addition of nylon fiber to NBR offers good reinforcement, and causes improvement in mechanical properties. A fiber length of 6 mm was found to be optimum for the best balance of properties. It has been found that at higher fiber loadings, composites show brittle‐type behavior. Composites vulcanized by the dicumyl peroxide (DCP) system were found to have better mechanical properties than that by the sulfur system. The swelling behavior of the composites in N,N‐dimethyl formamide has been analyzed for the swelling coefficient values. Composites vulcanized in the DCP system were found to have higher rubber volume fraction than that in the sulfur system, which indicates better rubber–fiber interaction in the former. Aromatic terpolyimides were synthesized by the reaction of 3,3′,4,4′-oxydiphthalicdianhydride(ODPA), 3,3′,4,4′-biphenyldianhydride(BPDA)
and 3,3′,4,4′-benzophenonetetracaboxylicdianhydride(BTDA) with 4,4′-oxydianiline(ODA) via thermal imidization with the view
to enhance their tensile properties without compromising thermal properties compared to their homo and copolyimides. Their
films were characterized by FTIR, TGA, DSC and XRD. Their FTIR spectra established formation of polyimide by the characteristic
vibrations at 1375cm−1(C-N stretch) and 1113 cm−1(imide ring deformation). TGA results showed imidization of residual polyamide acid close to 250 °C and decomposition of polyimides
at about 540 °C. XRD results showed amorphous nature for all terpolyimides. Their tensile strength and tensile modulus were
higher than either homo or copolyimides. Incorporation of BPDA, without bridging groups between the aromatic rings into the
backbone of ODPA/BTDA-ODA is suggested as the cause for such an enhancement. Such terpolyimide can find application as adhesives
in making flexible single/multilayer polyimide metal-clad laminates in flexible printed circuits and tape automated bonding
applications. In addition, the terpolyimide, BPDA/BTDA/ODPA-ODA (mole ratio 0.5:0.25:0.25:1), showed low dielectric constant
(3.52) as BPDA could offer slight rigidity by which the orientation of polar groupings could be reduced. 相似文献

Electrochemical oxidation of sodium borohydride (NaBH4) and ammonia borane (NH3BH3) (AB) have been studied on titanium carbide electrode. The oxidation is followed by using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and polarization measurements. A fuel cell with TiC as anode and 40 wt% Pt/C as cathode is constructed and the polarization behaviour is studied with NaBH4 as anodic fuel and hydrogen peroxide as catholyte. A maximum power density of 65 mW cm−2 at a load current density of 83 mA cm−2 is obtained at 343 K in the case of borhydride-based fuel cell and a value of 85 mW cm−2 at 105 mA cm−2 is obtained in the case of AB-based fuel cell at 353 K. 相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes were irradiated with ultra-low energy (few eV) nitrogen and hydrogen ions using a microwave discharge. These ultra-low energy plasma-ions remain confined to the nanotube walls, transferring their maximum energy to the carbon atoms, and produce extraordinary structural changes to the carbon nanotube pillars as well as within the carbon nanotubes. Conical shaped emitters and nanotube structures with nano-defects are produced that exhibit remarkable field emission with ultra-low turn-on electric field (∼0.16 V/μm) and a >300-fold increase in the maximum emission current density compared to non-irradiated nanotubes. Continuous treatment of polyester/cotton blended fabric samples was carried with hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) plasma on the pilot scale atmospheric pressure plasma reactor. The mixture of helium and argon was used as carrier gas for generating dielectric barrier discharge plasma. The effect of discharge power and treatment time on the water repellent properties of samples were evaluated with contact angle (CA) and spray test measurements. Spray test and CA results showed improved resistance to wetting with water. The effect of discharge conditions on the surface morphology and surface chemistry of plasma treated samples were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic analysis, respectively. The presence of Si‐O‐Si and Si‐CH3 groups in the structure of plasma polymer deposited at the surface of P/C samples was revealed by FTIR spectroscopy. Further, structural differences in HMDSO plasma polymer deposited under different discharge conditions were reported with reference to organic/inorganic nature of plasma polymer. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
