The problem of growing computational complexity in the finance industry demands manageable, high-speed and real-time solutions
in solving complex mathematical problems such as option pricing. In current option trading scenarios, determining a fair price
for options “any time” and “anywhere” has become vital yet difficult computational problem. In this study, we have designed,
implemented, and deployed an architecture for pricing options on-line using a hand-held device that is J2ME-based Mobile computing-enabled
and is assisted by web mining tools. In our architecture, the client is a MIDP user interface, and the back end servlet runs
on a standalone server bound to a known port address. In addition, the server uses table-mining techniques to mine real-time
data from reliable web sources upon the mobile trader’s directive. The server performs all computations required for pricing
options since mobile devices have limited battery power, low bandwidth, and low memory. We have parallelized and implemented
various computational techniques such as binomial lattice and finite differencing. To the best of our knowledge, this is one
of the first studies that facilitate the mobile-enabled-trader to compute the price of an option in ubiquitous fashion. This
architecture aims at providing the trader with various computational techniques to avail (to provide results from approximate
to accurate results) while on-the-go and to make important and effective trading decisions using the results that will ensure
higher returns on investments in options.

In the present study, a comprehensive assessment of the spatio-temporal variation of day-time and night-time land surface temperature (LST) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) of Vadodara district of Gujarat in India from 2001 to 2012 has been carried out using satellite data. A significant cooling trend was observed in the day-time LST, whereas the night-time LST showed a distinct warming trend. The entire geographical extent of Vadodara was classified into different night-time LST classes to quantify the extent of the hot pockets, and it showed a clear-cut warming pattern for all the months of the year with an increase in the geographical areas under higher temperature range. Further analysis of Diurnal Temperature Range (DTR) also revealed a strong impact of the urbanization process, with annual DTR showing a decreasing trend at the rate of 0.29°C year?1. An analysis of the vegetation cover of the district showed that on an average, the NDVI of the district increased during the study period. However, a micro-level examination of NDVI values depicted that the type of vegetation cover had drastically changed. The maximum NDVI values for months from May to December for 2012 were much lower than those of 2001 and 2006, indicating a change in vegetation pattern of the district. An assessment of the area under different NDVI values exhibited that for all the months of the year (except September), the total area with NDVI values of higher range (i.e. +0.5 and above) had substantially decreased from 2001 to 2012. The analysis revealed that for some of the months like February, while in 2001, 45% of district exhibited NDVI values above +0.5, but by 2012, it had decreased to only 18%, showing a drastic change in vegetation type and deterioration of the extent of thick dense vegetation. 相似文献

Pentacene-based organic field effect transistors (FETs) exhibit enormous potential as active elements in a number of applications. One significant obstacle to commercial application remains: no completely lithographic process exists for forming high-performance devices. Processing constraints prevent electrodes from being lithographically patterned once the semiconductor is deposited, but depositing the electrodes before the semiconductor leads to low-performance transistors. By using self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) to change the surface energy of the metal electrodes and morphology of the pentacene subsequently grown on the electrodes, high-performance transistors may be formed using a process compatible with lithographic definition of the source and drain electrodes 相似文献

This paper considers the control system design for recycle systems. We derive a condition which quantifies the effect of recycling on closed-loop performance. The condition is independent of control/controller structure. With insight from this condition, we develop a set of heuristics for properly designing a controller without detailed knowledge of recycle dynamics for the important special case where the system is represented by a first-order-plus-time-delay model and where the IMC tuning rules are used. The heuristics require only a minimal amount of information on the recycle dynamics. Zr-2.5wt%Nb pressure tubes, as used in the Indian pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWR), are fabricated through a combination of hot extrusion followed by two stages of cold pilgering and annealing. The present study makes an effort to systematically characterize the textural changes during the fabrication stages. The starting single-phase hcp martensitic structure was textured to start with and it also went through strong texture developments during hot extrusion. First and especially the second pilgering modified the texture. Such modifications were related to local discontinuity of the softer second phase, as an apparent continuity restricted lattice rotation in the primary hcp phase. Annealing caused discontinuity or spherodization of the bcc phase, but did not create recrystallization in the hcp matrix. The combination of two pilgering plus annealing operations, though the latter did not cause noticeable texture changes, however, reverted the final texture close to the parent hot-extruded texture. 相似文献

Understanding the impact of software changes has been a challenge since software systems were first developed. With the increasing size and complexity of systems, this problem has become more difficult. There are many ways to identify the impact of changes on the system from the plethora of software artifacts produced during development, maintenance, and evolution. We present the analysis of the software development process using change and defect history data. Specifically, we address the problem of small changes by focusing on the properties of the changes rather than the properties of the code itself. Our study reveals that 1) there is less than 4 percent probability that a one-line change introduces a fault in the code, 2) nearly 10 percent of all changes made during the maintenance of the software under consideration were one-line changes, 3) nearly 50 percent of the changes were small changes, 4) nearly 40 percent of changes to fix faults resulted in further faults, 5) the phenomena of change differs for additions, deletions, and modifications as well as for the number of lines affected, and 6) deletions of up to 10 lines did not cause faults. 相似文献

The partitioning of corrosion inhibitor (CI) products is a measure of their potential to protect oilfield pipelines. In this paper the hydrophilic–lipophilic deviation (HLD) model is first used to quantify their partitioning in terms of the characteristic curvature (C c,act) of a series of anionic (alkoxylated phosphate esters) and cationic (alkoxylated amines, aromatic amines, imidazoline acetates and quaternary amines) actives. This parameter is expressed over a range of pHs within which pipeline corrosion occurs. The HLD model is next used to predict the partitioning of each active from water into toluene at increased salinities. Linear mixing rules are lastly used to predict the characteristic curvature of Product A (C c,mix) as a function of the C c,act of a subset of actives. 相似文献

Chemical vapour deposition (CVD) is emerging as a popular method for growing large-area graphene on metal substrates. For transferring graphene to other substrates the technique generally used involves deposition of a polymer support with subsequent etching of the metal substrate. Here we report a simpler one-step transfer process. Few-layer graphene (FLG) grown on a Cu substrate were transferred to a silanized wafer by just pressing them together. Hydrogen bonding between the hydroxyl group on FLG and the amine group on silane molecules facilitate the transfer. 相似文献
