The aim of this study is to evaluate the electrochemical corrosion behavior of a Sn–Ag solder alloy in a 0.5 M NaCl solution at 25 °C as a function of microstructural characteristics. Different microstructure morphologies, which can be found in Sn–Ag solder joints and that are imposed by the local solidification cooling rate, are evaluated and correlated to the resulting scale of the dendritic matrix and the morphology of the Ag3Sn intermetallic compound. Cylindrical metallic molds at two different initial temperatures were employed permitting the effect of 0.15 °C/s and 0.02 °C/s cooling rates on the microstructure pattern to be experimentally examined. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) diagrams, potentiodynamic polarization curves and an equivalent circuit analysis were used to evaluate the electrochemical parameters. It was found that higher cooling rates during solidification are associated with fine dendritic arrays and a mixture of spheroids and fiber-like Ag3Sn particles which result in better corrosion resistance than coarse dendrite arrays associated with a mixture of fibers and plate-like Ag3Sn morphologies which result from very slow cooling rates. 相似文献

In this paper a new boundary element method formulation for elastoplastic analysis of plates with geometrical nonlinearities
is presented. The von Mises criterion with linear isotropic hardening is considered to evaluate the plastic zone. Large deflections
are assumed but within the context of small strain. To derive the boundary integral equations the von Kármán’s hypothesis
is taken into account. An initial stress field is applied to correct the true stresses according to the adopted criterion.
Isoparametric linear elements are used to approximate the boundary unknown values while triangular internal cells with linear
shape function are adopted to evaluate the domain value influences. The nonlinear system of equations is solved by using an
implicit scheme together with the consistent tangent operator derived along the paper. Numerical examples are presented to

A comparative experimental study of the electrochemical features of as-cast Pb-1 wt.% Sn and Pb-1 wt.% Sb alloys is carried out with a view to applications in the manufacture of lead-acid battery components. The as-cast samples are obtained using a water-cooled unidirectional solidification system. Pb-Sn and Pb-Sb alloy samples having similar coarse cell arrays are subjected to corrosion tests in order to assess the effect of Sn or Sb segregation in the cell boundary on the electrochemical performance. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) diagrams, potentiodynamic polarization curves and an equivalent circuit analysis are used to evaluate the electrochemical parameters in a 0.5 M H2SO4 solution at 25 °C. Both the experimental and simulated EIS parameters evidence different kinetics of corrosion. The Pb-1 wt.% Sn alloy is found to have a current density which is of about three times lower than that of the Pb-1 wt.% Sb alloy which indicates that dilute Pb-Sn alloys have higher potential for application as positive grid material in maintenance-free Pb-acid batteries. 相似文献

Feature selection is a key issue in pattern recognition, specially when prior knowledge of the most discriminant features is not available. Moreover, in order to perform the classification task with reduced complexity and acceptable performance, usually features that are irrelevant, redundant, or noisy are excluded from the problem representation. This work presents a multi-objective wrapper, based on genetic algorithms, to select the most relevant set of features for face recognition tasks. The proposed strategy explores the space of multiple feasible selections in order to minimize the cardinality of the feature subset, and at the same time to maximize its discriminative capacity. Experimental results show that, in comparison with other state-of-the-art approaches, the proposed approach allows to improve the classification performance, while reducing the representation dimensionality. 相似文献

This work investigates the removal of Cd2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, and Pb2+ ions from aqueous solutions using tururi fibers as an adsorbent under both batchwise and fixed‐bed conditions. It was found that modification of the tururi fibers with sodium hydroxide increased the adsorption efficiencies of all metal ions studied. The fractional factorial design showed that pH, adsorbent mass, agitation rate, and initial metal concentration influenced each metal adsorption differently. The kinetics showed that multi‐element adsorption equilibria were reached after 15 min following pseudo‐second‐order kinetics. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Redlich–Peterson models were used to evaluate the adsorption capacities by tururi fibers. The Langmuir model was found to be suitable for all metal ions. Breakthrough curves revealed that saturation of the bed was reached in 160.0 mL with Cd2+ and Cu2+, and 52.0 mL with Ni2+ and Pb2+. The aim of the study was to develop a symbiotic cottage cheese containing Lactobacillus delbrueckii UFV H2b20 and inulin, and to evaluate the survival of this bacterium when the cheese was exposed to conditions simulating those found in the gastro-intestinal tract. Throughout the entire whole shelf-life period of the cheese, the probiotic cell counts were higher than those recommended for probiotic products containing 5% of inulin. The probiotic bacterium exhibited satisfactory resistance to low pH values and to high concentrations of bile salts. The addition of probiotic cells and inulin generated no alterations in the physicochemical characteristics of cheese. 相似文献
