Pure aluminium and high-silicon aluminium alloy were reinforced with the discontinuous pitch-based carbon fibres by squeeze casting, then the thermal conductivity and the mechanical properties of the composites were investigated. Optical microscopy revealed that the fibres were in a random planar arrangement, and the transmission electron microscopy revealed that there is no interfacial reaction between the matrices and the fibres. The random planar arrangement of the fibres leads to the anisotropy of the composite. The fibre-reinforcement increased the thermal conductivity in the parallel direction for both pure aluminium and its alloy matrices, while the thermal conductivity decreased in the vertical direction. The increase in the elastic modulus by the reinforcement was not observed for both matrices. The proof stress of the pure aluminium increased by the reinforcement especially in the parallel direction, while that of the high-silicon alloy decreased by the reinforcement.  相似文献

Nanocomposites of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with various contents of MWCNTs were fabricated by double molding techniques. X‐ray diffraction measurements reveal a development of α‐crystal with lamellar stacks having a long period of 150 Å in the neat iPP that increases to 165 Å in 2 wt % MWCNTs‐loaded composites, indicating that MWCNTs enhance crystallization of iPP as a nucleating factor. Mechanical properties, such as tensile strength, flexural strength, Young's modulus, tangent modulus, and microhardness are found to increase with increasing MWCNTs content. Thermal analyses represent an increase of crystallization and melting temperatures and a decrease of thermal stability of the composites with increasing MWCNTs. Changes in structural, mechanical, and thermal properties of the composites due to the addition of MWCNTs are elaborately discussed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2010  相似文献

Homogeneous grafting of styrene onto cellulose was carried out in a dimethylacetamide/lithium chloride solvent system. The grafted products were added to cellulose/polystyrene (PS) blends as compatibilizers. The thermal decomposition behavior of the blends was investigated by thermogravimetry. The thermal stability of the blends decreased with an increase in grafted product content. The crystallinity of the blends decreased with grafted product content. The microphase‐separated structures of the blends became finer with grafted product content. The glass transition temperatures for cellulose and PS in the blends were lowered with grafted product content. Differences in thermal decomposition behavior of the blends were correlated with compatibility. The Okinawan folks in Japan use Ficus pumila L. as a beverage or herbal medicine to treat diabetes and high blood pressure. Four flavonoid glycosides were isolated and identified as rutin (1 and 3), apigenin 6-neohesperidose (2), kaempferol 3-robinobioside (4) and kaempferol 3-rutinoside (5). Among these compounds, rutin exhibited the strongest antioxidant activity in DPPH radical scavenging assay and superoxide radical inhibition assay. The preparation of Ooitabi leaves in water provide sufficient amount of flavonoid glycosides to the Okinawan although 50% of aqueous ethanol extracted these flavonoid glycosides more effectively. These results show the potential of Ooitabi leaves as a natural source of antioxidant for health management.  相似文献

As a quench protection method in an SMES, a dumping resistor method and an enthalpy method are considered. The former is a conventional method, but the latter has not been experimentally examined yet, although it has been shown to be suitable for future SMES. In addition, a new control method, QI simultaneous control, has been also developed as a practical application of the SMES. The performance or the enthalpy protection technique is verified by a helium dumping method, and the QI simultaneous control is also successfully examined using a power network simulator  相似文献

The morphology of CuO powders formed by a homogeneous precipitation process from aqueous copper precursor complex was investigated. The effect of 2.45 GHz microwave irradiation appeared in the characteristic morphology of the CuO microcrystal with comparison of an ordinal synthesis process. The crystallographic orientation of CuO microcrystals in the particle was examined by HRTEM. Using microwave irradiation, it was demonstrated that the morphology of the particles was kept through the decomposition of the precursor. Also the rapid transformation of a precursor to CuO in aqueous solution under microwave irradiation condition was discussed.  相似文献

In this article, the two-dimensional distributions of cells from the cross section of some flexible polyurethane foams were cleared, and the three-dimensional distributions of cells based on Saltykov's theory were estimated further. As a result, it was found that a mean of the two-dimensional distributions of cells was a good linear relation with a mean of the three-dimensional distributions of cells, and it was confirmed that cell structure of the foams which should have been analyzed in the three-dimensional distributions was evaluated by analysis of the two-dimensional distributions fully. It was also found that not only cell number but also cell distribution was necessary in the evaluation of flexible polyurethane foams, and cell diameter was closely related to the sound absorption coefficient in polyester-based flexible polyurethane foams. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
