A simple analytical method is proposed that allows a preliminary evaluation of the overall efficiency of a detention basin system for flood risk reduction in a specific target section. Solutions are provided both for parallel and series systems, under some simplifying assumptions concerning the linearity of detention basin, river network and watershed responses. Further, for the series configuration a regressive model is proposed for the computation of the overall efficiency, because of the complexity of analytical solution. A case study is also presented, where the overall efficiency of a system of nine detention basins is computed by means of both the analytical and the regressive model. Results are discussed to assess the different influence of detention basins in parallel or in a series system.  相似文献

Decades of research demonstrate that conflict shapes and permeates a broad range of family processes. In the current article, we argue that greater insight, integration of knowledge, and empirical achievement in the study of family conflict can be realized by utilizing a powerful theory from evolutionary biology that is barely known within psychology: parent–offspring conflict theory (POCT). In the current article, we articulate POCT for psychological scientists, extend its scope by connecting it to the broader framework of life history theory, and draw out its implications for understanding conflict within human families. We specifically apply POCT to 2 instances of early mother–offspring interaction (prenatal conflict and weaning conflict); discuss the effects of genetic relatedness on behavioral conflict between parents, children, and their siblings; review the emerging literature on parent–offspring conflict over the choice of mates and spouses; and examine parent–offspring conflict from the perspective of imprinted genes. This review demonstrates the utility of POCT, not only for explaining what is known about conflict within families but also for generating novel hypotheses, suggesting new lines of research, and moving us toward the “big picture” by integrating across biological and psychological domains of knowledge. The Rovereto Emotion and Cooperation Corpus (RECC) is a new resource collected to investigate the relationship between cooperation and emotions in an interactive setting. Previous attempts at collecting corpora to study emotions have shown that this data are often quite difficult to classify and analyse, and coding schemes to analyse emotions are often found not to be reliable. We collected a corpus of task-oriented (MapTask-style) dialogues in Italian, in which the segments of emotional interest are identified using psycho-physiological indexes (Heart Rate and Galvanic Skin Conductance) which are highly reliable. We then annotated these segments in accordance with novel multimodal annotation schemes for cooperation (in terms of effort) and facial expressions (an indicator of emotional state). High agreement was obtained among coders on all the features. The RECC corpus is to our knowledge the first resource with psycho-physiological data aligned with verbal and nonverbal behaviour data.  相似文献

In this work, the hydration process of durum wheat–based functional bread loaded with yellow pepper flour was optimised. In particular, the investigated vegetable flour and durum wheat semolina were mixed after they were separately hydrated. Three different amounts of water added to the yellow pepper flour were studied for assessing the effect of vegetable flour hydration level on the dough development and overall quality of bread. The bread formulation investigated in a previous work, based on 25% of yellow pepper and 2% of guar seed as structuring agent where the vegetable flour was directly added to the hydrated durum wheat semolina dough, was chosen as control sample. Results highlighted that dough samples with yellow pepper flour hydrated at highest water content showed a rheological behaviour similar to the durum wheat dough. Moreover, creep analysis showed that the sample added with no‐hydrated yellow pepper flour recorded the greatest resistance to deformation. Same results were obtained for the dough tensile and bread compression tests. The use of the hydrated yellow pepper flour also improved all sensorial attributes.  相似文献

In this study, breads varying in yeast content and therefore leading to distinct cellular structures are investigated. Firstly, X-ray microtomography is used to characterize not only the final cellular structure, but also the process of development of microstructure during the fermentation stage. With μCT, image analysis of the full 3-D microstructure, measuring the size, shape, networking/connectivity and distribution of various phases was possible. These measurements represent the full 3-D microstructure, which is not always possible by 2-D image analysis using statistical techniques. Secondly, the textural properties of the baked bread were obtained by compression tests and finally, the sensorial quality of the final product is also evaluated and correlated with the above properties. Results showed that an increase of the yeast content increased the percentage volume of pores and decreased the force required for compression of the bread sample and the tenacity. Moreover, a larger quantity of smaller sized pores led to a firmer bread structure. Regarding the sensorial properties, none of the investigated microstructural parameters were significantly correlated with the overall quality of the bread. In fact, the overall quality was more strongly affected from other parameters such as odor and appearance attributes.  相似文献

This paper presents a new evolutionary cooperative–competitive algorithm for the design of Radial Basis Function Networks (RBFNs) for classification problems. The algorithm, CO2RBFN, promotes a cooperative–competitive environment where each individual represents a radial basis function (RBF) and the entire population is responsible for the final solution. The proposal considers, in order to measure the credit assignment of an individual, three factors: contribution to the output of the complete RBFN, local error and overlapping. In addition, to decide the operators’ application probability over an RBF, the algorithm uses a Fuzzy Rule Based System. It must be highlighted that the evolutionary algorithm considers a distance measure which deals, without loss of information, with differences between nominal features which are very usual in classification problems. The precision and complexity of the network obtained by the algorithm are compared with those obtained by different soft computing methods through statistical tests. This study shows that CO2RBFN obtains RBFNs with an appropriate balance between accuracy and simplicity, outperforming the other methods considered.  相似文献

A compact voltage controlled CMOS current divider is presented. Differently from previous implementations, exploiting the MOSFET translinear characteristics in subthreshold region, the proposed circuit is based on devices operating from moderate to strong inversion. An input current linearity range of nearly a decade is obtained by compensating for the deviations from the ideal drain current square-law approximation through an original empirical approach. The circuit is suitable for use as a building block in analog multipliers and for transconductor continuous tuning. The effectiveness of the proposed configuration is demonstrated by means of electrical simulations, performed on a prototype designed with a commercial process. The robustness of the linearization algorithm with respect to temperature variations is proven.  相似文献
