Reports an error in "Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale: Its value for organizational psychology research" by Maxime A. Tremblay, Céline M. Blanchard, Sara Taylor, Luc G. Pelletier and Martin Villeneuve (Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science/Revue canadienne des sciences du comportement, 2009[Oct], Vol 41[4], 213-226). In this article, line 2 of the second table was missing from the printed article. The correct table is reprinted in this correction. (The following abstract of the original article appeared in record 2009-18333-004.) The Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale (WEIMS) is an 18-item measure of work motivation theoretically grounded in self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000). The purpose of the present research was twofold. First, the applicability of the WEIMS in different work environments was evaluated. Second, its factorial structure and psychometric properties were assessed. Two samples of workers (military: N = 465; civilians: N = 192) voluntarily completed questionnaires. Using the WEIMS’s 3 indexes (work self-determination index, work self-determined and nonself-determined motivation, respectively), results of regression analyses were supportive of its ability to predict positive and negative criteria in the workplace. Results also showed the adequacy of both its construct validity and internal consistency. Its factorial structure was also invariant across samples. Finally, its quasi-simplex pattern and relationships with psychological correlates further supported the self-determination continuum. Overall, these findings provide evidence for the applicability as well as the reliability and validity of the WEIMS in organisational settings. Lung cancer is the most common and most fatal cancer worldwide. Thus, improving early diagnosis and therapy is necessary. Previously, gadolinium‐based ultra‐small rigid platforms (USRPs) were developed to serve as multimodal imaging probes and as radiosensitizing agents. In addition, it was demonstrated that USRPs can be detected in the lungs using ultrashort echo‐time magnetic resonance imaging (UTE‐MRI) and fluorescence imaging after intrapulmonary administration in healthy animals. The goal of the present study is to evaluate their theranostic properties in mice with bioluminescent orthotopic lung cancer, after intrapulmonary nebulization or conventional intravenous administration. It is found that lung tumors can be detected non‐invasively using fluorescence tomography or UTE‐MRI after nebulization of USRPs, and this is confirmed by histological analysis of the lung sections. The deposition of USRPs around the tumor nodules is sufficient to generate a radiosensitizing effect when the mice are subjected to a single dose of 10 Gy conventional radiation one day after inhalation (mean survival time of 112 days versus 77 days for irradiated mice without USRPs treatment). No apparent systemic toxicity or induction of inflammation is observed. These results demonstrate the theranostic properties of USRPs for the multimodal detection of lung tumors and improved radiotherapy after nebulization. 相似文献

Reorganization and plasticity after spinal cord injury have been recently shown to take place in sublesional neuronal networks, but the possibility of strain-dependent changes at that level has never been explored. The authors studied the spontaneous return of hindlimb movement in low-thoracic spinal cord transected (Tx) mice from 3 commonly used strains. Without intervention, most CD1, C57BL/6, and BALB/c mice displayed some hindlimb movement recovery after Tx. Although all assessment methods unanimously reported that CD1 displayed higher recovery levels than did the C57BL/6 and BALB/c, higher scores were generally found with the Antri-Orsal-Barthe (M. Antri, D. Orsal, & J. Y. Barthe, 2002) and the Average Combined Score (P. A. Guertin, 2005a) methods. Such spontaneous recovery in low-thoracic Tx mice is likely the result of neuronal plasticity at the lumbosacral spinal cord level, suggesting that these sublesional changes are strain dependent. GRB 090227B and GRB 090510, traditionally classified as short gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs), indeed originate from different systems. For GRB 090227B we inferred a total energy of the e + e ? plasma \(E_{e^ + e^ - }^{tot} \) = (2.83 ± 0.15) × 1053 erg, a baryon load of B = (4.1 ± 0.05) × 10?5, and a CircumBurstMedium (CBM) average density 〈n CBM〉 = (1.90 ± 0.20) × 10?5 cm?3. From these results we have assumed the progenitor of this burst to be a symmetric neutron stars (NSs) merger with masses m = 1.34 M⊙, radii R = 12.24 km. GRB 090510, instead, has \(E_{e^ + e^ - }^{tot} \) = (1.10 ± 0.06) × 1053 erg, B = (1.45 ± 0.28) × 10?3, implying a Lorentz factor at transparency of Γ = (6.7 ± 1.7) × 102, which are characteristic of the long GRB class, and a very high CBM density, 〈n CBM〉 = (1.85 ± 0.14) × 103 cm?3. The joint effect of the high values of Γ and of 〈n CBM〉 compresses in time and “inflates” in intensity in an extended afterglow, making appear GRB 090510 as a short burst, which we here define as “disguised short GRB by excess” occurring an overdense region with 103 cm?3. 相似文献

During tubo-ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) progression, tumoral cells undergo phenotypic changes in their epithelial marker profiles, which are essential for dissemination processes. Here, we set out to determine whether standard epithelial markers can predict HGSC patient prognosis. Levels of E-CADH, KRT7, KRT18, KRT19 were quantified in 18 HGSC cell lines by Western blot and in a Discovery cohort tissue microarray (TMA) (n = 101 patients) using immunofluorescence. E-CADH and KRT7 levels were subsequently analyzed in the TMA of the Canadian Ovarian Experimental Unified Resource cohort (COEUR, n = 1158 patients) and in public datasets. Epithelial marker expression was highly variable in HGSC cell lines and tissues. In the Discovery cohort, high levels of KRT7 and KRT19 were associated with an unfavorable prognosis, whereas high E-CADH expression indicated a better outcome. Expression of KRT7 and E-CADH gave a robust combination to predict overall survival (OS, p = 0.004) and progression free survival (PFS, p = 5.5 × 10−4) by Kaplan–Meier analysis. In the COEUR cohort, the E-CADH-KRT7 signature was a strong independent prognostic biomarker (OS, HR = 1.6, p = 2.9 × 10−4; PFS, HR = 1.3, p = 0.008) and predicted a poor patient response to chemotherapy (p = 1.3 × 10−4). Our results identify a combination of two epithelial markers as highly significant indicators of HGSC patient prognosis and treatment response. 相似文献

This paper presents the results of twenty-one fire tests on unprotected steel-to-timber connections with dowel-type fasteners and one or two slotted-in steel plates. The experimental results of this type of connections available in existing studies have been mostly limited to a fire resistance duration of 60 min. The tests performed in this study target a significant increase of fire resistance to reach 90 and 120 min. Two configurations of connections with one and two slotted-in steel plates, i.e., two or four shear planes, were tested. The temperatures were measured at different locations in the wood members and along the steel plates. Two load levels for fire tests were determined on the basis of tests performed at ambient temperature. The experimental results show that the specimens proposed for steel-to-timber connections with dowel-type fasteners are suitable for achieving fire resistance of 90 and 120 min. 相似文献

The structure of alumina-supported cobalt catalysts promoted with platinum and their catalytic performance in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis were investigated under realistic reaction conditions (P = 20 bar, T = 493 K) using in situ time-resolved X-ray diffraction with simultaneous analysis of reaction products. The catalysts were prepared via incipient wetness impregnation and characterized by a wide range of ex situ techniques. Direct in situ measurements were indicative of considerable versatility of alumina-supported cobalt catalysts during Fischer–Tropsch synthesis. Cobalt sintering occurred at the first hours of the reaction and resulted in a significant drop of the catalytic activity. In addition to sintering, partially oxidized catalysts containing smaller cobalt particles (mean particle size <5 nm) were slowly reducing during Fischer–Tropsch reaction. Treatment of cobalt catalysts in pure carbon monoxide led to selective transformation of cobalt metallic phases to Co2C cobalt carbide. Cobalt carbidization followed by hydrogenation selectively led to cobalt hcp metallic phase, which seems to be more active in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis than cobalt fcc phase. Cobalt oxidation by water was not significant in the catalysts with metal particles larger than 5 nm even at high water concentrations. 相似文献
