For a quantitative evaluation of the protectiveness of a rust layer formed on a weathering steel bridge, the relationship between the corrosion rate of the bridge and the composition of the rust layers formed on the girders was first investigated. These corrosion rates were clearly classified by the protective ability index (PAI) of α/γ and (β + s)/γ, where α, γ, β and s are the mass ratio of crystalline α-FeOOH, the total of γ-FeOOH, β-FeOOH and the spinel-type iron oxide (mainly Fe3O4), β-FeOOH and spinel-type iron oxide, analyzed by XRD, respectively. The inequality of the former index α/γ > 1 expressed the protectiveness criterion of the rust layer, while that of the latter index, (β + s)/γ< 0.5 or > 0.5, classified the corrosion rate of the non-protective rust layer. The PAI is useful for a quantitative evaluation of the protectiveness of a rust layer formed on a weathering steel bridge and is an important item for the corrosion assessment of the bridge.  相似文献

New biomarkers are needed to further stratify the risk of malignancy in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN). Although microRNAs (miRNAs) are expected to be stable biomarkers, they can vary owing to a lack of definite internal controls. To identify universal biomarkers for invasive IPMN, we performed miRNA sequencing using tumor-normal paired samples. A total of 19 resected tissues and 13 pancreatic juice samples from 32 IPMN patients were analyzed for miRNA expression by next-generation sequencing with a two-step normalization of miRNA sequence data. The miRNAs involved in IPMN associated with invasive carcinoma were identified from this tissue analysis and further verified with the pancreatic juice samples. From the tumor-normal paired tissue analysis of the expression levels of 2792 miRNAs, 20 upregulated and 17 downregulated miRNAs were identified. In IPMN associated with invasive carcinoma (INV), miR-10a-5p and miR-221-3p were upregulated and miR-148a-3p was downregulated when compared with noninvasive IPMN. When these findings were further validated with pancreatic juice samples, miR-10a-5p was found to be elevated in INV (p = 0.002). Therefore, three differentially expressed miRNAs were identified in tissues with INV, and the expression of miR-10a-5p was also elevated in pancreatic juice samples with INV. MiR-10a-5p is a promising additional biomarker for invasive IPMN.  相似文献

The impact of micro-alloying on tensile behavior at strain rates in various ranges is examined using five types of extruded Mg-0.3 at. pct Mn–0.1 at. pct X ternary alloys, where X is selected as a common element, Al, Li, Sn, Y or Zn. Microstructural observations reveal that the average grain size of these extruded alloys is between 1 and 3 μm, and these micro-alloying elements segregate at grain boundaries. In room temperature tensile and compression tests, these results show that the mechanical properties and deformation behavior are influenced by the micro-alloying element, even as a small addition of 0.1 at. pct. Mg–Mn–Y and Mg–Mn-Zn alloys show higher strength and smaller strain rate sensitivity (m-value) among the present alloys, owing to the rate-controlling mechanism as dislocation slip. On the other hand, the Mg–Mn–Li alloy exhibits the largest elongation to failure in tension and the highest strain rate sensitivity, associated with high contribution of grain boundary sliding to deformation. These differences are due to the grain boundary segregation of the micro-alloying elements. Compared to the common Mg alloys, the present ternary alloys also show a trade-off relationship between strength and ductility, which is similar to that of the well-known Mg alloys; however, these properties of the Mg–Mn system ternary alloys could be controlled via the type of micro-alloying elements with a chemical content of 0.1 at. pct.

The precipitation of droplets was directly observed on a BaO–B2O3 melt in a drop shaft experiment. This is the first time that precipitation of droplets has been observed in a 4.5 s drop test. The melt film of 4BaOz96B2O3 (mol%) held on a platinum wire loop was heated above the critical tem-perature to produce uniformity and was cooled down to the phase separation temperature range. Phase separation of the melt was observed directly with a video camera. The IR image of the melt was simultaneously detected with a CCD array and was converted into a two-dimensional thermograph.  相似文献

Summary The ring-opening polymerization of deoxophostone 5, a five-membered cyclic phosphinite, has been studied. Some cationic initiators gave polymer whereas anionic and radical initiators as well as metal chloride (Lewis acid) catalysts did not yield polymer. The polymer consisted of a phosphine oxide repeating unit 6. The polymerization proceeded via the Arbuzov-type reaction. The reduction of polymer 6 with a HSiCl3/Et3N system gave polyphosphine 7.  相似文献

The recently reported hole-patterned YBa2Cu3O y (Y123) bulks with improved superconducting properties are highly interesting from material quality and application variety points of view. It is well known that the core of plain bulk superconductors needs to be fully oxygenated and some defects like cracks, pores, and voids must be suppressed in order that the material can trap a high magnetic field or carry a high current density. To minimize the above defects, we have used a combination of standard superconducting ceramic processing and an infiltration technique to prepare regularly perforated YBa2Cu3O y (Y123) bulk superconductors. This process leads to negligible shrinkage upon annealing and a uniform distribution of Y211 inclusions. Texture was evidenced by neutron pole figure measurements. Flux mapping was used to verify the superconducting homogeneity of the samples and to investigate the field-trapping ability. In addition, the textured drilled samples were reinforced using resin or metal impregnation and the influence of the different processing steps on the hardness of the materials has been investigated.  相似文献

Summary A binary system of a palladium complex as catalyst and zinc alkoxide as initiator conducted a novel ring-opening polymerization of cyclic carbonate, i. e., 5,5-dimethyl-4-ethenyl-1,3-dioxan-2-one. The polymerization proceeded along with releasing carbon dioxide to produce the corresponding polyether. The -allylpalladium complex generated from the monomer with the catalyst is the key intermediate for this new polymerization. The propagating end is zinc alkoxide, which nucleophilically attacks the monomer activated as the -allylpalladium complex in the propagation.  相似文献

We report fast computation of computer-generated holograms (CGHs) using Xeon Phi coprocessors, which have massively x86-based processors on one chip, recently released by Intel. CGHs can generate arbitrary light wavefronts, and therefore, are promising technology for many applications: for example, three-dimensional displays, diffractive optical elements, and the generation of arbitrary beams. CGHs incur enormous computational cost. In this paper, we describe the implementations of several CGH generating algorithms on the Xeon Phi, and the comparisons in terms of the performance and the ease of programming between the Xeon Phi, a CPU and graphics processing unit (GPU).  相似文献

SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphor crystals co-doped with auxiliary activators such as La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, or Y have been grown by the floating zone (FZ) technique. Photoluminescence spectrum (PL), time-resolved PL, and thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) are evaluated to clarify the long-duration phosphorescence mechanism of SrAl2O4, Eu, and Ln phosphors. TSL spectra were measured in the temperature range from RT to 600 K to evaluate the depth and densities of the traps generated by the doping of auxiliary activators that are responsible for the long-duration phosphorescence. The peak wavelength of PL does not vary with auxiliary activator elements, while decay curves vary greatly with the auxiliary activators. The trap depth and the densities of the trapped carriers estimated based on the hole trap model also vary with the auxiliary activator elements. The traps generated at around E =0.5 eV by the auxiliary activators, Nd, Dy, and Tm, with sufficient densities are effective for the long-duration phosphorescence.  相似文献

Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)/polystyrene (PHEMA/PS) composite microspheres were produced by emulsifier-free seeded emulsion polymerization for styrene in the presence of PHEMA seed particles. Effects of the surface characteristics of the PHEMA/PS composite microspheres on the adsorption immobilization of trypsin and on its enzymatic activity were discussed. Above 5 mol% of HEMA content, trypsin molecules adsorbed had high activity, 65–100% of the activity of free trypsin. The excellence of the composite microspheres as a carrier for trypsin seems to be closely related with the surface heterogeneity consisting of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic parts.  相似文献
