The structure and rheological properties of binary blends of polycarbonate (PC) and polystyrene (PS) were investigated using various PS samples with different molecular weights, namely PS1k (Mw = 1,000), PS53k (Mw = 53,000), and PS240k (Mw = 240,000). The blends with PS53k and PS240k show phase-separated structures, whereas the blend with PS1k is miscible. The shear viscosity decreases greatly on addition of PS53k and PS240k, especially at high shear rates, which would be a great advantage at processing operations. Because the nonlinear response occurs in the small strain region for multilayered films of PC and PS240k, the origin of the significant viscosity drop for the phase-separated system is interfacial slippage at the phase boundary. 相似文献

In order to improve LWR source term under severe accident conditions, the first version of a fission product chemistry database named ‘ECUME’ was developed. The ECUME is intended to include several datasets of major chemical reactions and their effective kinetic constants for representative severe accident sequences. It is expected that the ECUME can serve as a fundamental basis from which fission product chemical models can be elaborated for use in the severe accident analysis codes. The implemented chemical reactions in the first version were those for representative gas species in Cs-I-B-Mo-O-H system from 300 to 3000 K. The chemical reaction kinetic constants were evaluated from either literature data or calculated values using ab-initio calculations. The sample chemical reaction calculation using the presently constructed dataset showed meaningful kinetics effects at 1000 K. Comparison of the chemical equilibrium compositions by using the dataset with those by chemical equilibrium calculations has shown rather good consistency for the representative Cs-I-B-Mo-O-H species. From these results, it was concluded that the present dataset should be useful to evaluate fission product chemistry in Cs-I-B-Mo-O-H system under LWR severe accident conditions, where kinetics effects should be considered. 相似文献

A simple and practical method was developed for the determination of histamine in fish and fish products by solid-phase extraction and fluorescence derivatization. Histamine was extracted with trichloroacetic acid. The extract was neutralized and diluted with phosphate buffer (pH 6.8), and cleaned up with a tandem-connected octadecyl silica (ODS) and strong cation exchange silica (SCX) cartridge. After removal of the solvent, histamine was derivatized with fluorescamine and analyzed by ion-paired reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. Recovery tests of histamine from six kinds of fish and fish products showed acceptable recovery (83-92%) with low relative standard deviation (less than 5%). Rapid and simultaneous enumeration of viable Enterobacteriaceae and viable Pseudomonas spp. in milk was achieved by using multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) with oligonucleotide probes based on 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequences in combination with a microcolony growth method (multicolor microcolony-FISH; MMC-FISH). The procedure of MMC-FISH method is rather simple; that is milk clearing, filtration of cells, incubation, hybridization and enumeration. Enumeration of targeted bacteria in logarithmic growth phase, stationary phase, or in a starved state in milk by MMC-FISH required 5-7 h, while it took 1-3 days to test for Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas putida by the conventional culture method. The numbers of E. coli and P. putida in each phase or in a starved state in milk determined by MMC-FISH were almost the same or greater than the number of colony forming units determined by the plate counting method. The MMC-FISH allows rapid examination of contamination in milk by viable Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas spp. with growth potential. 相似文献

The rates of degradation of cyanuric acid, a key intermediate in a metabolic pathway of s-triazine herbicides, were measured for Pseudomonas sp. NRRL B-12227. The rate of degradation was affected by the rate of cyanuric acid transport through cell membranes and the activity of cyanuric acid amidohydrolase inside the cells. At low concentrations of cyanuric acid, the acclimation of cells to cyanuric acid and/or added nutrients effectively enhanced the degradation rate. The strain was also applied to bioremediation using a Bioremediation with Self-Immobilization System (BSIS), in which Pseudomonas sp. NRRL B-12227 cells were co-immobilized with Bacillus subtilis, the latter of which secretes a viscous polymer, in a shallow layer of soil packed in a column. More than 70% of the Pseudomonas sp. NRRL B-12227 cells were co-immobilized with the B. subtilis in a 7.5 cm layer of the packed soil by self-aggregation. More than 60% of the 1 mM cyanuric acid supplied to the packed soil was degraded in this layer during a 72 h period. 相似文献

Flashing light from blue light emitting diodes is an effective method for the reduction of energy consumption in the bioproduction of astaxanthin by Haematococcus pluvialis. We investigated the effects of light intensity and frequency on the final astaxanthin concentration in bioproduction by H. pluvialis grown mixotrophically. The final astaxanthin concentration under illumination with flashing light, with frequencies ranging from 25 to 200 Hz, was dependent on the light intensity and on the duty cycle and was equivalent, or higher, in comparison with that under illumination with continuous light at the same incident intensity. The light intensity determined the maximum attainable concentration of astaxanthin under continuous illumination. Under illumination with flashing light, the ratio of the final astaxanthin concentration to the maximum concentration at a specific light intensity was correlated to the duty cycle in the frequency range from 25 to 200 Hz. The effect of lower frequencies on enhanced astaxanthin production under flashing light was also studied; at levels as low as 1 Hz, higher final astaxanthin concentrations were observed under flashing light compared to concentrations attained under continuous light. 相似文献

During a 3-year monitoring survey (April 2002-March 2005) of pesticide residues in agricultural products, 592 samples (324 domestic; 268 imported) collected in Hyogo prefecture, Japan were analyzed. The number of pesticides tested increased from 232 in FY 2002 to 323 in FY 2004. The purpose of the study was to clarify the residue status by accumulating information about pesticides detected frequently, to allow effective and efficient regulation under the new "Positive List" legislation to be implemented in FY 2006. Overall, 47% of domestic and 61% of imported samples contained detectable residues and ca. 60% of positive samples contained multiple residues. The limit of quantitation was set at 0.01 microg/g and the limit of detection was 0.001-0.003 microg/ g. Most of the residues were present at low concentrations: 80% of the detections in samples excluding imported citrus fruits were < 0.05 microg/g. More than 5 different pesticides (> 0.01 microg/g) were detected simultaneously in 13 samples. The sum of the ratios of residues to MRLs was calculated as one of the indexes to represent the risk of multiple residues, and they exceeded 100% in 3 imported frozen vegetables; baby kidney bean, spinach, Welsh onion. Samples in violation of the Food Sanitation Law were not found in our survey, but 1.9% of the samples might be in conflict with the new "Positive List" legislation. 相似文献

Cells of Zygosaccharomyces rouxii in a medium containing a high concentration of NaCl were killed during incubation for 2-4 h with a low concentration of a mixture of saponins from tea seeds (TSS). The higher the concentration of NaCl in the medium, the higher the inhibitory effect of TSS on the growth of the yeast. The above inhibitory effect of TSS on the growth of the yeast was not observed when cells were incubated in hypertonic media composed of nonionic substances such as sugars. The ATPase activity of plasma membrane preparations from the yeast cells was slightly affected by the addition of TSS. It is shown that TSS facilitates leakage of glycerol from the yeast cells under NaCl-hypertonic conditions. The major inhibitor in the mixture of saponins was isolated and identified as theasaponin E1. Its isomer, theasaponin E2, did not have any effect on the salt tolerance of Z. rouxii or Saccharomyces cerevisiae. 相似文献

Processability at extrusion coating and mechanical properties of the films obtained are investigated by means of linear and nonlinear rheological measurements and tensile tests for blends of polypropylene (PP) and linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE). Both materials are produced by metallocene catalyst. The processability of PP is found to be improved by the addition of LLDPE; the blend shows low level of motor torque and head pressure in an extruder and small level of neck‐in as compared with pure PP. Further, the anisotropy of ultimate tensile strength, which is prominent for PP, is reduced by blending with LLDPE. As a result, the blend having 20 wt % of LLDPE shows appropriate properties in the molten state for extrusion coating and in the solid state as a film. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
