An Nb3Sn superconducting magnet to store 400 kJ was developed as a unit magnet for a 2.4-MJ SMES system used for stabilization studies of electrical power systems. The superconducting magnet consists of a cryostat and an Nb3Sn coil. The dimensions of the coil are: 340 mm inner diameter, 700 mm outer diameter and 177 mm axial length. The pool-cooled coil is a stack of 20 Nb3Sn double pancakes, and the cooling channels are aligned between pancake coils. To reduce Joule loss in electrical power converters, the maximum operating current of the coil is designed to be 350 A, which is one order of magnitude less than the operating currents of similar scale coils for pulse use. The conductor is an Nb3Sn monolithic conductor with cross section 1.50 × 2.38 mm. For good superconducting stability and high dielectric strength of the coil, the Nb3Sn double pancakes were wound by the react-and-wind technique. Operation of dc current to 105% (367.5 A) of the design operating current was achieved without quench. After the whole of the coil was exposed out of liquid helium, the coil did not quench under 120 A current operation for more than 2 hours. High-speed bicomponent spinning of poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)(core) and poly-propylene (PP) (sheath) was carried out and the structure development in the individual components, PET and PP, was investigated. The orientation and crystallinity development in the PET component was enhanced as compared to that of the single-component spinning while the PP component remained in a low orientation state and had a pseudohexagonal crystal structure even at high take-up speeds. To clarify the mutual interaction between the two components in bicomponent spinning, a semiquantitative numerical simulation was performed. The simulation results obtained using the Newtonian fluid model showed that the solidification stress in the PET component was enhanced while that of the PP component was decreased in comparison with the corresponding single-component spinning. This is due to the difference in the temperature dependence of their elongational viscosity. Simulation with an upper-convected Maxwell model as the constitutive equation suggested that significant stress relaxation of the PP component can occur in the spinline if the PET component solidifies earlier than does PP. Based on the structural characterization results, and the simulation results, it was concluded that the difference in the activation energy of the elongational viscosity and solidification temperature between the two polymers are the main factors influencing the mutual interaction in the bicomponent spinning process. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L. var. Shiranekomugi) seeds were soaked in water at 22 degrees C for 1 d. Thereafter, the embryo of the soaked seeds was inoculated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens by piercing a region of the embryonic apical meristem with a needle that had been dipped in an A. tumefaciens inoculum. The inoculated seeds were incubated at 22 degrees C for 2 d and sterilized by cefotaxime (Claforan) (1000 ppm water solution) treatment and then vernalized at 5 degrees C for 25 d. Finally, the seedlings were grown to maturation (T(0) plants) and allowed to pollinate naturally for seed setting (T(1) plants) in pots under nonsterile condition. To examine the transformation by various means, four different strains of A. tumefaciens were used for transformation. The following five lines of evidence proved the transformation: altered phenotype and its transmittance to the next generation, resistance of T(1) seed germination to geneticin or hygromycin B, the detection of a transgene in T(1) plants by PCR analysis and Southern hybridization and the rescue of the plasmid consisting of the integrated T-DNA and flanking wheat genome DNA from T(1) plants. The transformation efficiency of T(1) plants, which were transformed using different A. tumefaciens strains, was estimated to be 33% by PCR analysis, 75% by Southern hybridization and 40% by plasmid rescue.  相似文献

We present results from cryogenic tests of volume-phase holographic (VPH) gratings at approximately 100 K. The aims of these tests are to see whether the diffraction efficiency as a function of wavelength is significantly different at a low temperature from that at room temperature and to see how the performance of a VPH grating is affected by a number of thermal cycles. We have completed ten cycles between room temperature and 100 K and find no clear evidence that the diffraction efficiency changes with temperature or with a successive thermal cycle.  相似文献

Electron microscopic investigation on osteogenetic process at the implant surface of threadless rod-type titanium implants with different surface roughness of Ra 0.4 ± 0.01 μm, Sm 2.6 ± 0.3 μm and Ra 2.0 ± 0.12 μm, Sm 36 ± 9.1 μm was performed at the early stage of 21 and 42 days post implantation into the jawbones of four beagles under the load bearing condition of functional mastication. The implant surfaces were covered with a blood clot and haematopoietic stem cells (HSC) including phagocytic monocytes immediately after the implantation. Successively, osteogenic stem cells (OSC) migrated from cortical and/or trabecular endosteum to the HSC-layer on the implant surface. The new bone formation at the implant/bone marrow interface was developed by collaboration of osteomediator cells (OMC) differentiated from monocytes of HSC and osteoblast phenotype cells of OSC derived from endosteum of cortical bone and/or trabecular. The new bone layer at the implant surface consisted of two layers, solution-mediated calcification layer of pseudo bone and cell (osteoblast) -mediated calcification layer of true bone. The pseudo bone was produced by solution-mediated calcification of OMC- and HSC-remnants near by the implant surface. The bone healing process at the implant/bone marrow interface depended upon two factors; the migration of OSC from cortical and/or trabecular endosteum to the implant surface and the healing potentiality. Topographic dependency upon the bone healing potential at implant/bone marrow interface was not confirmed in this experiment under the load bearing condition of functional mastication.  相似文献

Well-aligned zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods were synthesized using a low-temperature hydrothermal method employing a zinc/sodium dodecyl sulfate (Zn/SDS) composite as a seed layer. The results of X-ray diffraction measurements indicate that the Zn/SDS composite has a lamellar structure with an interlayer distance of 3.12 nm, which is shorter than that of the lamellar structure of SDS (3.82 nm) due to ion exchange between Zn and Na. The results of X-ray absorption fine structure analyses suggest that ZnO crystals start to grow after an induction period of 20-30 min. The length of nanorods and the aspect ratio of ZnO nanorods could be controlled by altering the molarity of ammonium and zinc nitrate in the growth solutions.  相似文献

Deformation and fracture mechanisms of ultrathin Si nanowires (NWs), with diameters of down to ~9 nm, under uniaxial tension and bending were investigated by using in situ transmission electron microscopy and molecular dynamics simulations. It was revealed that the mechanical behavior of Si NWs had been closely related to the wire diameter, loading conditions, and stress states. Under tension, Si NWs deformed elastically until abrupt brittle fracture. The tensile strength showed a clear size dependence, and the greatest strength was up to 11.3 GPa. In contrast, under bending, the Si NWs demonstrated considerable plasticity. Under a bending strain of <14%, they could repeatedly be bent without cracking along with a crystalline-to-amorphous phase transition. Under a larger strain of >20%, the cracks nucleated on the tensed side and propagated from the wire surface, whereas on the compressed side a plastic deformation took place because of dislocation activities and an amorphous transition.  相似文献

低活化铁素体/马氏体(RAFM)钢被视为国际热核聚变反应堆以及聚变反应堆的第1壁候选结构材料之一,很多国家均在研究不同的RAFM钢,中国低活化马氏体(CLAM)钢的研究亦正在进行。核聚变会产生氢、氦、氘及氚,这些气体元素与辐照缺陷结合在一起,对材料的辐照性能会产生较大影响。本文对注氘后不同温度下的辐照后微观结构进行研究。试验利用日本北海道大学的JEOL-1300高压电子显微镜研究注氘CLAM钢从室温到873K在1250keV电子辐照下的微观结构变化。研究结果表明,在电子辐照下,注氘产生的缺陷团会出现消失和长大两种现象,意味着间隙型与空位型位错环在注氘过程中同时产生。并研究了注氘产生的空洞。  相似文献
