Microholes for the production of gasoline direct injection nozzles were obtained by ultrashort pulsed laser machining in martensitic stainless steels. The inner surface analysis was carried out by a specifically conceived Scanning Probe Microscopy instrument and revealed the presence of periodic surface microstructures whose formation was studied as a function of process parameters (pulse energy, repetition rate, rotational speed, drilling strategy). Experiments demonstrated that geometrical features of the microstructures can be varied by a proper parameter selection and open the perspective for an optimized process enabling a reduction of coking accumulation during service life and a more effective atomization of the fuel jet.  相似文献

Nowadays, it becomes increasingly difficult to find reliable multimedia content in the Web 2.0. Open decentralized networks (on the Web) are populated with lots of unauthenticated agents providing fake multimedia. Conventional automatic detection and authentication approaches lack scalability and the ability to capture media semantics by means of forgery. Using them in online scenarios is computationally expensive. Thus, our aim was to develop a trust-aware community approach to facilitate fake media detection. In this paper, we present our approach and highlight four important outcomes. First, a Media Quality Profile (MQP) is proposed for multimedia evaluation and semantic classification with one substantial part on estimating media authenticity based on trust-aware community ratings. Second, we employ the concept of serious gaming in our collaborative fake media detection approach overcoming the cold-start problem and providing sufficient data powering our Media Quality Profile. Third, we identify the notion of confidence, trust, distrust and their dynamics as necessary refinements of existing trust models. Finally, we improve the precision of trust-aware aggregated media authenticity ratings by introducing a trust inference algorithm for yet unknown sources uploading and rating media.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel design concept for using rock filters as in-line natural media in waste stabilization ponds. A pilot-scale algae-rock-filter pond (ARP) system was investigated in parallel with algae-based ponds (ABPs) over a period of 6 months to evaluate the treatment efficacy of both systems. Each system entailed four equally sized ponds in a series and was continuously fed with domestic wastewater from Birzeit University. The removal rates of organic matter, nutrients, and fecal coliforms were monitored within each treatment system. The results obtained revealed that the ARP system was more efficient in the removal of organic matter [total suspended solids (TSS) and chemical oxygen demand (COD), 86% and 84%, respectively] and fecal coliforms (4log?) than the ABP system (81%, 81%, 3log?, respectively). The ARPs showed higher removal rates for ammonium and phosphorus (68.8% and 50.0%, respectively) compared with the ABPs (57.9% and 41.5%, respectively). The biogenic-aerated ARP option is a cost-effective and land-saving alternative with effluent quality suitable for restricted agricultural irrigation. The ARPs utilizing a new algae-biofilm design concept should be investigated at a large scale to enhance the information available to relevant decision makers, who are seeking sustainable on-site wastewater treatment alternatives.  相似文献

In this work, different amounts of montmorillonite were added to cerium nitrate epoxy mixture. Nanocomposite coatings containing cerium nitrate were applied on cold rolled steel panels. The state of dispersion and incorporation were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. To investigate anticorrosive properties of nanocomposites, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, polarization measurement and salt spray tests were employed. Results showed that epoxy cerium nanocomposite coatings were superior to the neat epoxy in corrosion protection properties. Also, it was observed that the best corrosion protection was achieved with nanocomposite coatings containing 4 wt.% and 2 wt.% cerium nitrate.  相似文献

Numerical modelling of the two main aquifers in Kuwait—the Kuwait Group and Dammam Limestone aquifers—was carried out. Two different well designs were represented in the model: wells completed in the Dammam Limestone aquifer and dual completion wells in both aquifers. The results of the modelling suggested that (i) most of the decline in potentiometric heads will take place in the central and northern part of the study area, (ii) the direction of vertical leakage, which was upward initially, will change to a downward direction (from the Kuwait Group to Dammam Limestone) and (Hi) the flow direction may change in the eastern part of the study area from north to north‐east.  相似文献

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric method for evaluating the relative efficiency of decision-making units (DMUs) on the basis of multiple inputs and outputs. Conventional DEA models assume that inputs and outputs are measured by exact values on a ratio scale. However, the observed values of the input and output data in real-world problems are often vague or random. Indeed, decision makers (DMs) may encounter a hybrid uncertain environment where fuzziness and randomness coexist in a problem. Several researchers have proposed various fuzzy methods for dealing with the ambiguous and random data in DEA. In this paper, we propose three fuzzy DEA models with respect to probability-possibility, probability-necessity and probability-credibility constraints. In addition to addressing the possibility, necessity and credibility constraints in the DEA model we also consider the probability constraints. A case study for the base realignment and closure (BRAC) decision process at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is presented to illustrate the features and the applicability of the proposed models.  相似文献

This paper has deeply investigated the performance signature of modulation techniques based low earth orbit (LEO)/medium earth orbit (MEO) intersatellite optical wireless communication systems for possible communication coverage distance of 20 000 km with possible transmission bit rate of 0.5 Tb/s. These modulation techniques that are namely multilevel quadrature amplitude modulation (M‐QAM), multilevel phase shift keying (N‐PSK), multilevel pulse amplitude modulation (H‐PAM), and finally multilevel differential phase shift keying (L‐DPSK) based on different electrical pulse generators for upgrading LEO/MEO intersatellite link operation efficiency. These pulse generators that are namely Gaussian pulse generator (GPG), hyperbolic secant pulse generator (HSPG), and raised cosine pulse generator (RCPG). The variations of maximum Q‐factor, minimum bit error rate (BER), and optical signal‐to‐noise ratio in relation to number of bits/symbol for different modulation techniques can be deeply studied in the presence of vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). This study is done with using Optiwave system simulation version 7 for different modulation techniques, and all figures are sketched with using wizard Excel sheet set up. It is observed that maximum Q‐factor and minimum BER are optimized with using GPG and 8‐PAM, as well as 4‐DPSK with both HSPG and RCPG.  相似文献

Due to the fast development of telecommunications and the great demand of bandwidth, optical wireless communication (OWC) has become a promising trend. OWC offers flexible networks for both indoor and outdoor communications providing high security, high speed and a license free spectrum. Data transmission over indoor OWC systems with diffused channel model at high speed will extend the channel impulse response over several symbol periods with many reflections causing inter-symbol interference. This interference distorts the data symbols being transmitted and affects the signal recovery at the receiver side. This paper studies error control coding for OWC systems over additive white Gaussian noise and ceiling bounce channel models. It considers Hamming coding and channel equalization for unipolar optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. The objective is to mitigate the channel distortion, and hence achieve reliable transmission and correct detection at the receiver side.  相似文献

The deformation and form error resulting from press-fitting a thick cylinder into a square housing with an inner circular hole were studied using finite element analysis. The results show the effect of diametral interference and housing thickness on the resulting deformation and form error.
