A high-performance NO gas sensor was prepared by inducing thermal fluorination of carbon nanotube semiconductors. Thermal fluorination of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was carried out at various temperatures (100 ∼ 1000 °C) to investigate the effects of the reaction temperature. The mechanism of high-performance NO gas sensor electrode was shown to depend on the fluorination temperature in a way that can be divided into three regions, separated at 400 and 1000 °C. In the first temperature region, the induction of fluorine functional groups onto MWCNTs showed the opposite trend in electrical resistance change comparing with traditional p-type MWCNTs. In the second temperature region, the induced fluorine functional groups were attenuated by generated fluorinated carbon gases resulting in the decomposition of MWCNTs and the recovery of traditional p-type gas sensor behavior. In the highest temperature region above 1000 °C, reoriented carbon structure was observed, showing bent nanotubes produced from destruction by fluorination and subsequent reorientation due to the high temperature. The gas sensing responsiveness was significantly improved by the thermal fluorination, which causes electrophilic attraction, creates adsorption sites for target NO gases and improve hydrophobicity for gas sensing stability in humid condition. In conclusion, a high-performance gas sensor was obtained by thermal-fluorination of MWCNTs.  相似文献

The anti-ulcer activity of polyamine extract (PAE) of salt stressed and sprouted soybean seeds against ethanol-induced gastric damage was investigated in a rat model. The contents of the polyamines putrescine (20.11%), spermidine (9.46%), and spermine (2.79%) in PAE were determined using HPLC. The anti-ulcer activity of the extract was compared with the effects of the reference drug omeprazole. Pre- and post-administration of PAE at doses of 10+10, 20, and 20+20mg/kg of body weight in conjunction with ethanol administration significantly protected ethanolinduced gastric damage. The levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione in stomach tissues were significantly changed, when compared with an ethanol control group. Polyamine extract exhibited high protective effect against ulcer lesions and could be used to develop new anti-ulcer drugs.  相似文献

Vinyl acetate (VAc) was solution‐polymerized at 40°C and 50°C using 4,4′‐azobis(4‐cyanovaleric acid) (ACVA) as an initiator and methanol as a solvent, and effects of polymerization temperature and initiator concentration were investigated in terms of conversion of VAc into poly (vinyl acetate) (PVAc), degree of branching (DB) for acetyl group of PVAc, and molecular weights of PVAc and resulting poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) obtained by saponifying with sodium hydroxide. Slower polymerization rate by adopting ACVA and lower viscosity by methanol proved to be efficient in obtaining linear high‐molecular‐weight (HMW) PVAc with high conversion and HMW PVA. PVA having maximum number–average degree of polymerization (Pn) of 4300 could be prepared by the saponification of PVAc having maximum Pn of 7900 polymerized using ACVA concentration of 2 × 10?5 mol/mol of VAc at 40°C. Moreover, low DB of below 1 could be obtained in ACVA system, nevertheless of general polymerization temperatures of 40°C and 50°C. This suggests an easy way for producing HMW PVA with high yield by conventional solution polymerization without using special methods such as low‐temperature cooling or irradiation. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. To prepare high molecular weight (HMW) poly(vinyl pivalate) (PVPi) with high yield and high linearity which is a promising precursor for syndiotactic poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA), vinyl pivalate (VPi) was emulsion polymerized, using 2,2′‐azobis(2‐amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (AAPH) as an initiator and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as an emulsifier. The effect of the polymerization conditions on the conversion, molecular weight, and degree of branching was investigated. PVA with maximum number‐average degree of polymerization (Pn) of 6200 could be prepared by complete saponification of PVPi, with Pn of 13,300–16,700 obtained at polymerization temperature of 50°C, using SDS and AAPH concentration of 2.0 × 10?3 mol/L of water and 1.0 × 10?3 mol/L of water, respectively, and the maximum conversion was about 90%. From the emulsion polymerization of VPi, spherical PVPi with high yield was effectively prepared, which might be useful for the precursor of syndiotactic PVA micro‐ and nano‐spheres with various surface properties. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Biocompatible hydroxyapatite (HA)/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) composites and their transparent films were prepared by the coprecipitation and solvent casting method. The formation of HA in PVA composite powder was confirmed by the characteristic phosphate bands at 1100–1032 and 565 cm?1 at FT‐IR spectra, and the weight ratio of HA to PVA was 50/50 examined by TGA. The crystal melting temperature of HA/PVA decreased compared with that of pure PVA. HA/PVA (50/50) composite powder and pure PVA were dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide to obtain a film with HA/PVA weight ratio of 10/90. To improve HA particles' dispersity, which is one of the major factors affecting the mechanical properties of composite materials, various contents of citric acid were used for the preparation of HA/PVA films. Saturated fatty acids (SFA) and monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) show different effects on the development of insulin resistance. In this study, we compared the effect of dietary SFA and MUFA on the insulin signaling pathway in the skeletal muscle of a type 2 diabetic animal model. Twenty-nine-week-old male Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima fatty (OLETF) rats were randomly divided into three groups and fed one of the following diets for 3 weeks; a normal chow diet, an SFA (lard oil) enriched or a MUFA (olive oil) enriched high-fat diet. The vastus lateralis muscle was used for analyses. Insulin tolerance test showed improved insulin sensitivity in rats fed the MUFA diet, as compared to those fed the SFA diet (p < 0.001). The SFA diet reduced IRS-1 expression and phosphorylated PI3K levels in skeletal muscle, as compared with a chow diet (p < 0.001, respectively). On the contrary, muscle IRS-2 expression and phosphorylated ERK1/2 was significantly increased in rats fed the SFA diet (p < 0.001, respectively). Membrane translocation of glucose transporter type 4 decreased in the skeletal muscle of rats fed the SFA diet, as compared to those fed a chow diet (p < 0.001). These changes in insulin signaling pathway in skeletal muscle were not observed in rats fed the MUFA diet. In conclusion, the beneficial effect of dietary MUFA on insulin sensitivity is associated with a conserved IRS-1/PI3K insulin signaling pathway which was altered by dietary SFA.  相似文献

Plasma-sprayed thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are applied to protect the blades of a gas turbine system from high-temperature gas and to lower the surface temperature of the blades. The failure of TBC is directly connected to the failure of the blades because the spallation of a ceramic layer leads to the acceleration of local corrosion and oxidation at the location of failure. Therefore, the spallation life of TBC is very important in the evaluation of the reliability of a gas-turbine blade.In this study, thermal fatigue tests were performed at 1100 °C and 1151 °C. Then, c-scanning and bond strength tests were performed for TBC specimens that were thermally aged by thermal fatigue tests. From the results, an empirical equation based on the ratio of the delamination area and the thermal cycle number was presented and the spallation life of a TBC specimen could be roughly estimated using the relationship between the delaminated area and the number of cycles.  相似文献

Numerical study on the interaction between methane–air and syngas–air premixed flames is conducted according to equivalence ratio and global strain rate in detailed chemistry. This study targets at understanding of an interacting combustion system as an alternative retrofit concept where one can modify the existing facilities minimally in industrial and power plant burners in order to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide. It is seen that methane premixed flame interacting with syngas premixed flame can be sustained even over the rich flammable limit of single methane premixed flame. The inspection of detailed flame structure such as the distributions of major species and chain carrier radicals, flame separation distance, spatial flow velocity, and spatial distribution of the rate of production and consumption of CH4, H2, and CO is also conducted to depict the flame interactions. The importance of global strain rate and thus the flame separation distance in the enhanced burning of methane premixed flame is also stressed through the inspection of the consumption rates of H2, CO, and CH4. Anomalous phenomena such as the migration of premixed flame cross the stagnation plane and the nearly constant flame separation distance are also discussed.  相似文献
