Supercritical pressure water cooled reactor (SCWR) has been regarded as an innovative nuclear reactor. For the design and development of the SCWR, heat transfer performance under supercritical pressure is one of the most important indicators. In this paper, experimental data are presented on the heat transfer to a supercritical pressure fluid flowing vertically upward and downward in a small diameter heated tube and two sub-bundle channels with three heater rods and seven heater rods, using HCFC22 as the test fluid. Downstream of grid spacer for the sub-bundles, heat transfer enhancement was observed in the upward flow, but not in the downward flow. The enhancement was remarkable especially when the heat transfer deterioration occurs in the fully developed region unaffected by the spacer. The heat transfer correlation for the downstream region of the spacer was developed in the normal heat transfer of sub-bundles. In the fully developed region for the sub-bundle, occurrence of the heat transfer deterioration was suppressed or degree of the deterioration was moderated. At high mass velocity for downward flow in the seven rod sub-bundle, oscillation of heat transfer was observed in the region of the enthalpy over the pseudocritical point. 相似文献

The drying process of durum wheat semolina dough was measured by thermogravimetry in the temperature and relative humidity ranges of 30–90 °C and 0–80%, respectively, in order to predict the drying process of pasta under any drying conditions. About 20% of the water was evaporated during the constant drying-rate period which has been ignored in previous studies. It is demonstrated that the constant drying-rate period should be taken into account in order to predict the drying curve with a high accuracy. The drying rate during the constant drying-rate period and the mass transfer coefficient estimated by the thermogravimetric analysis were expressed as functions of the temperature and relative humidity, and they were useful for predicting the drying processes of pasta under any drying conditions including the programmed ones. 相似文献

High-durability lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramics were developed in the present study to prevent time-dependent deterioration of displacement, as well as failure under operation. Current leakage in PZT was decreased by adding elemental manganese, changing the zirconium content from 54.0 to 54.2 mol%, and decreasing the antimony content. Displacement was improved by adding both manganese and indium to the PZT. The present investigation resulted in the development of PZT compositions with high displacement and low time-dependent displacement degradation. Presynaptic GABAB receptors play a regulatory role in central synaptic transmission. To elucidate their underlying mechanism of action, we have made whole-cell recordings of calcium and potassium currents from a giant presynaptic terminal, the calyx of Held, and EPSCs from its postsynaptic target in the medial nucleus of the trapezoid body of rat brainstem slices. The GABAB receptor agonist baclofen suppressed EPSCs and presynaptic calcium currents but had no effect on voltage-dependent potassium currents. The calcium current-EPSC relationship measured during baclofen application was similar to that observed on reducing [Ca2+]o, suggesting that the presynaptic inhibition generated by baclofen is caused largely by the suppression of presynaptic calcium influx. Presynaptic loading of the GDP analog guanosine-5'-O-(2-thiodiphosphate) (GDPbetaS) abolished the effect of baclofen on both presynaptic calcium currents and EPSCs. The nonhydrolyzable GTP analog guanosine 5'-O-(3-thiotriphosphate) (GTPgammaS) suppressed presynaptic calcium currents and occluded the effect of baclofen on presynaptic calcium currents and EPSCs. Photoactivation of GTPgammaS induced an inward rectifying potassium current at the calyx of Held, whereas baclofen had no such effect. We conclude that presynaptic GABAB receptors suppress transmitter release through G-protein-coupled inhibition of calcium currents. 相似文献

Leukocyte emigration and alveolar macrophage-derived cytokines may contribute to lung microvascular injury associated with adult respiratory distress syndrome. We have used mAbs against cell adhesion molecules on leukocytes (anti-CD18 and anti-CD49d) or against IL-8 to investigate these contributions. Intratracheal (i.t.) instillation of LPS (50 microg/kg) caused a significant increase in bronchoalveolar lavage polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) without an increase in mononuclear cells (MNCs) or an increase in lung permeability. Injection of LPS (10 microg/kg) i.v. at 24 h after i.t. LPS caused significant increases in bronchoalveolar lavage PMNs, MNCs, IL-8, and monocyte chemotactic protein-1, as well as increases in lung permeability. Rabbits that were administered i.t. LPS followed by i.v. LPS and treated with anti-CD18 mAb had a significantly lower lung permeability index and emigration of fewer PMNs but no change in MNC emigration compared with saline treatment. Anti-IL-8 mAb treatment resulted in a significantly lower lung permeability index with no change in PMN emigration compared with no treatment. These results suggest that PMN emigration is necessary but not sufficient for the development of LPS-induced lung injury, and that IL-8 plays a significant role in PMN-dependent lung injury, independent of PMN emigration. 相似文献

A novel application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is described. The possibility of utilizing MRI for non-destructive quality evaluation of watermelons was studied. In this study, we applied MRI to the detection of internal voids in watermelons. In order to increase the measurement rate, we employed a one-dimensional projection profile method instead of observing a two-dimensional cross-sectional image. The void detection was carried out with this technique over 30 samples and 28 samples were correctly evaluated. The measurement rate was 900 ms per sample, which is an acceptable speed for a sorting machine in the agricultural field. 相似文献

The influence of stacks of Bi‐2223 multifilamentary tape‐shaped wires without twisting on AC losses observed in an external magnetic field perpendicular to their wide faces is investigated. The perpendicular‐field losses decrease with increasing number of tapes in the range of small field amplitudes. At larger amplitudes, on the other hand, the AC losses have little dependence on the stack number. This can be attributed to the effect of magnetic interaction between wires. By taking into account effective demagnetization factors on the basis of theoretical consideration, the perpendicular‐field losses are plotted on a master curve for the maximum magnetic field applied to the wires. Furthermore, the perpendicular‐field losses measured as a function of the field amplitude are well reproduced by the numerical evaluation of AC losses for a slab with infinitely wide surfaces. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
