The behavior of a premixed flame propagating from a chamber into a narrow channel at a high speed was examined using high speed and instantaneous schlieren photography, ion current measurement with electrostatic probes, and temperature measurement with an optical method. From detailed measurements of flames passing through the channel, flame extinguishment in the channel, no matter whether transient or not, was found to occur due to quenching of the reacting gas by rapid turbulent mixing with cold fresh mixture at the downstream of the contraction region and by heat transfer to the cold channel walls. Extinguishment must occur when these heat losses exceed the heat released by the chemical reaction of the flowing mixture.  相似文献

This paper proposes a multiagent approach to decentralized power system restoration for distribution system networks and presents a comparison of centralized and decentralized systems for power system restoration. Numerous studies have been conducted on power system restoration problems. From the viewpoint of system structures, this research can be divided into two categories: centralized systems and decentralized systems. In this study, we solve a power system restoration problem for a power distribution network by two different methods: mathematical programming (MIP) and the proposed multiagent‐based method (MAS). The proposed multiagent system consists of several distributing substation agents (DSAGs) and load agents (LAGs). An LAG corresponds to the customer load, and a DSAG supplies electricity to the LAG. From the simulation results, it can be seen that the proposed system can reach the right solution by making use of only local information and that the solution quality is better than that of the centralized system (MIP). This means that the proposed multiagent restoration system is a promising approach to larger scale distribution networks.  相似文献

The hot plate ignition test was conducted on ten different conveyor rubber belts with fabric skeletons. In this test, a 25 × 25 mm2 belt sample was placed on a stainless steel plate in an electric furnace and heated. The ‘ignition temperature’ was determined on each sample in almost the same way as proposed in Canada. The test results were compared with those from other laboratory-scale flammability tests (i.e. the small-scale flame tests, the Oxygen Index test and the laboratory-scale gallery test). The calculated results of both sample and rank correlation coefficients imply that the ‘10 signition temperature’ in this hot plate ignition test has a correlation with the results from both the Oxygen Index test and the laboratory-scale gallery test, but that it has very little or no correlation with those from the small-scale flame tests. On the other hand, it is found that the ‘60 s ignition temperature’ in this test has a far better correlation both with the results from the small-scale flame tests and with the time to ignition in the laboratory-scale gallery test than the ‘10 s ignition temperature’.  相似文献

Most chemical engineers presently accept that the mass transfer rate in desorption from the solid to the gas phase or from the liquid to the gas phase is accelerated with increasing temperature in the liquid or the solid phase, or increasing partial pressure of inert gas in the gas phase, and/or decreasing total system pressure in the gas phase. Nevertheless, many reports about such mass transfer are still based on the former concept, which completely contradicts the actual phenomena mentioned above. Here, we discuss the contradiction and suggest a way of resolving it in terms of diffusion theory.  相似文献

Abstract— The growth characteristics of small fatigue cracks were investigated under rotary bending in a high tensile strength steel, and the critical crack length above which linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) is applicable was evaluated systematically from the results of the present study and previous studies in which two steels having different microstructures and strengths were used. It is found that the critical crack length extends over two regions each exhibiting different growth mechanisms. These regions of microstructurally small cracks and mechanically small cracks are found to be a unique function of the microstructural unit size and the yield strength of the materials, respectively. Therefore, using these relationships, it is possible to estimate the critical crack length for a given material.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the relation between the time and temperature dependences of the flexural properties and the curing conditions for the bisphenol A-type epoxy resin with acid anhydride hardener. Relaxation moduli of epoxy resin, prepared at several curing temperatures and times, were measured in the temperature range from Tg ?70°C to Tg. The master curves of relaxation modulus for the epoxy resin could be constructed, using their thermorheological simple properties. The time–temperature shift factors of the epoxy resin could be approximately expressed by the Arrhenius equation with the activation energy 59.4 kcal/mole. independent of its curing conditions. The curing time and temperature were equivalent, that is, the short curing time at high temperature corresponded to the long curing time at low temperature. The curing time–temperature shift factor could be approximately expressed by the Arrhenius equation with the activation energy 21.3 kcal/mole, which was higher than the activation energy 14.2 kcal/mole obtained in the measurements of gel times. The increase in the values shows that the temperature dependences of reaction rates increase with progressing gelation.  相似文献
