For the liquid-phase partial hydrogenation of benzene at 483 K, the selectivity toward cyclohexene was greatly improved upon treating rare earth nitride with ammonia. For YbN obtained by thermal decomposition of Yb(NH2)2 at 1173 K, the selectivity of the NH3-treated YbN was 75%, in contrast to nil for the untreated YbN.  相似文献

This study is concerned with the three-dimensional numerical simulation of a bubbly jet, injected vertically upward from a circular nozzle in still water, when the axial and helical disturbances are imposed. The water flow is simulated by a vortex method, and the equation of motion for a bubble is solved on the flow by the Lagrangian scheme. The disturbances markedly change the vortical structure of water in the developing region. Since the bubbles accumulate on the high vortical region, their dispersion remarkably varies owing to the disturbances. The single helical disturbance causes the larger dispersion of bubble. The combined two helical disturbances make the bubble concentrate on a line in the jet cross-section. The present simulation suggests the possibility of the active control for the bubble dispersion in bubbly jet.  相似文献

Oenothein B is a unique macrocyclic ellagitannin dimer that has been found in various medicinal plants belonging to Onagraceae, Lythraceae, and Myrtaceae, with diverse biological activities. The immunological effects of tannins in terms of cytokine-release from macrophages and monocytes have been discussed, while the effects on other immunocompetent cells have been the subject of minimal investigation. We evaluated the immunomodulatory effects induced by tannin treatment in human dendritic cells (DCs), which play a critical role in the initial immune response, by measuring the changes in cytokine production, cell differentiation, and cell viability. Oenothein B showed significant down-regulation of the expression of cell surface molecules, CD1a and CD83, suggesting the inhibition of DC differentiation and/or maturation. The suppressive effect on DCs was associated with the induction of apoptosis without the activation of caspase-3/7, 8, and 9, and this was supported by the morphological features indicating significant nuclear condensation. Oenothein B also markedly suppressed the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β and IL-6, in a dose-dependent manner. These data may, in part, be able to explain the traditional use of tannin-containing medicinal plants for the treatment of a variety of inflammatory diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.  相似文献

Nanoimprint lithography (NIL) was carried out on precursor of polyimide (PI), poly(amic acid) film, and then hard baking to obtain imprinted PI film. The molecular aggregation states of imprinted PI films before and after hard baking were investigated by grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray diffraction comparing with the one of flat PI film. It was found that NIL and hard baking can strongly affect the molecular aggregation states of PI film. Before hard baking, PI chain is aligned parallel to the line direction on the line. After hard baking, the alignment in ordered domain was changed to that the PI molecule of which chain axis is perpendicular to the line direction is significantly increased, while, PI molecule of which chain axis is parallel to the line direction is decreased after hard baking. Through comparing with the flat PI, crystallinity of imprinted PI film has been significantly enhanced.  相似文献

To improve alkaline resistance, a newly mixed powder coating film using thermoplastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was investigated. Two kinds of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and two kinds of polyamide (PA) were chosen as the secondary polymer. The melting temperatures (T ms) of these materials were lower than that of primary PET polymer so the mixed powder coating was able to form a dual phase film through a fluidized bed coating process. Microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) observations revealed that the dual phase structure was indeed successfully formed and there was a secondary layer over the entire surface area of the film. This mixed powder coating film significantly enhanced the alkaline resistance to an environment filled with NaOH solution at 40°C in which a secondary material would be effective in protecting the film. With regard to both alkaline resistance and film formability, PET/PVB was superior to the PET/PA mixture.  相似文献

This study aimed to optimize the ratio of dioctyl 4‐cyclohexene‐1,2‐dicarboxylate (DOTH) and di‐isononyl‐cyclohexane‐1,2‐dicarboxylate (DINCH®) for use as plasticizers in poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) sheets. We also evaluated the biological safety of DOTH for its potential to be part of a safe PVC‐based blood container. The suppression of hemolysis in mannitol‐adenine‐phosphate / red cell concentrates (MAP/RCC) with DOTH/(DINCH®‐PVC) sheets and the elution of plasticizers from the sheets increased with higher DOTH compositions. The properties of the PVC sheet containing DOTH and DINCH® in the ratio of 25:33 parts against PVC 100 parts as a weight were almost identical to the PVC sheet made of di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate. From a subchronic toxicity test, DOTH did not show any adverse effects on all organs, including the testes, epididymis, liver, and kidneys. The no‐observed‐adverse‐effect level was 300 mg/kg body weight/day in a rat. These results suggest that DOTH/DINCH® (25:33) is a promising candidate for the replacement of di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate in blood containers. J. VINYL ADDIT. Aberrant expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) is involved in the development and progression of various types of cancers. In this study, we investigated the role of miR-331-3p in cell proliferation and the expression of keratinocyte differentiation markers of uterine cervical cancer cells. Moreover, we evaluated whether neuropilin 2 (NRP2) are putative target molecules that regulate the human papillomavirus (HPV) related oncoproteins E6 and E7. Cell proliferation in the human cervical cancer cell lines SKG-II, HCS-2, and HeLa was assessed using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium, inner salt (MTS) assay. Cellular apoptosis was measured using the TdT-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) and Annexin V assays. Quantitative RT-PCR was used to measure the messenger RNA (mRNA) expression of the NRP2, E6, E7, p63, and involucrin (IVL) genes. A functional assay for cell growth was performed using cell cycle analyses. Overexpression of miR-331-3p inhibited cell proliferation, and induced G2/M phase arrest and apoptosis in SKG-II, HCS-2 and HeLa cells. The luciferase reporter assay of the NRP2 3′-untranslated region revealed the direct regulation of NRP2 by miR-331-3p. Gene expression analyses using quantitative RT-PCR in SKG-II, HCS-2, and HeLa cells overexpressing miR-331-3p or suppressing NRP2 revealed down-regulation of E6, E7, and p63 mRNA and up-regulation of IVL mRNA. Moreover, miR-331-3p overexpression was suppressed NRP2 expression in protein level. We showed that miR-331-3p and NRP2 were key effectors of cell proliferation by regulating the cell cycle, apoptosis. NRP-2 also regulates the expression of E6/E7 and keratinocyte differentiation markers. Our findings suggest that miR-331-3p has an important role in regulating cervical cancer cell proliferation, and that miR-331-3p may contribute to keratinocyte differentiation through NRP2 suppression. miR-331-3p and NRP2 may contribute to anti-cancer effects.  相似文献

Japanese Specification for Highway Bridges [Japan Road Association: Specification for Highway Bridges—I & II, 2002.3] has been revised in 2002, which clearly states that degradation of bridge members, including those of weathering steels, to occur in prolonged period of time must be taken into account at the design stage to realize long term structural durability. To cope with the revised paradigm, SABI chemistry committee in Japan Society of Corrosion Engineers has proposed durable state concept [SABI Chemistry Committee of Japan Society of Corrosion Engineers, in: Proc. 132nd Symposium for Corrosion and Protection, 2001.6.25, p. 3], which is defined as a condition in which corrosion rate of steel is slow enough not to form thick rust [H. Kihira, K. Shiotani, H. Miyuki, T. Nakayama, M. Takemura, Y. Watanabe, Doboku Gakkai Ronbun-shu (J. Japan Soc. Civil Engineers) No. 745/I-65, 2003.10, pp.77-87]. Since corrosiveness of atmosphere differs by location, a corrosion prediction method for both conventional and advanced weathering steels [H. Kihira, A. Usami, K. Tanabe, M. Ito, G. Shigesato, Y. Tomita, T. Kusunoki, T. Tsuzuki, S. Ito, T. Murata, in: Electrochemical Society Proceedings, vol. 99-26, 2000, pp. 127-136] is needed to ensure structural durability for future. Thus, versatile computational scheme for it has been derived through mathematical modeling based upon the durable state concept.  相似文献
