Summary The thermal effects on the dynamics of an axisymmetric flow of a non-volatile incompressible viscous thin liquid film on a
rotating disk due to viscosity variation depending exponentially on temperature are considered. The nonlinear evolution equation
is solved numerically. The numerical results reveal that heating the film from below enhances the rate of thinning. The increase
in Biot number increases the film thickness, when the film is heated from below. Further, the relative amount of fluid retained
on the substrate decreases as the film is heated from below. The results are reversed for the case of a film which is cooled
from below. The rate of thinning of the film is more (less) for the case of temperature dependent viscosity when the film
is heated (cooled) from below than for the case of constant viscosity of the fluid. 相似文献

Hydrothermal fractionation for micro-algae, Schizocytrium sp., was investigated to separate sugars, lipids, and proteins. This fractionation process produced protein-rich solid cake
and liquid hydrolysates, which contained oligomeric sugars and lipids. Oligomeric sugars and lipids were easily separated
by liquid-liquid separation. Sugars in the separated hydrolyzate were determined to be mainly D-glucose and L-galactose. Fractionation
conditions were optimized by response surface methodology (RSM). Optimal conditions were found to be 115.5 °C of reaction
temperature, 46.7 min of reaction time, and 25% (w/w) of solid loading. The model predicted that maximum oligomeric sugar
yield (based on untreated micro-algae weight), which can be recovered by hydrothermal fractionation at the optimum conditions,
was 19.4 wt% (based on the total biomass weight). Experimental results were in agreement with the model prediction of 16.6
wt%. Production of bioethanol using micro-algae-induced glucan and E. coli KO11 was tested with SSF (simultaneous saccharification and fermentation), which resulted in 11.8 g-ethanol/l was produced from 25.7 g/l of glucose; i.e. the theoretical maximum ethanol yield based on glucan in hydrolyzate was 89.8%. 相似文献

The mobile-Government (mGov) service system is conducted through an open network, and it is virtual. This service mode and pattern change inevitably necessitates a behavioral change in citizen attitudes and intentions. Nevertheless, this new pattern of service delivery through mGov has hardly been systematically investigated by any researchers. The objective of this current research is twofold. First, we attempt to reveal the sources of beliefs for developing intention toward the mGov (ITM) system. Then, as the second objective, we investigate cultural influence as the reason for a difference in consumer attitudes and intentions toward mGov. In this regard, the empirical study was conducted in Bangladesh and the USA, which have potential differences in the cultural traits listed by Hofstede. From our statistical analysis, we have identified the sources of beliefs for both Bangladeshi and USA consumers. We observed clear differences in sources of beliefs and their influence on attitudes leading to intention, which demonstrates support for our second objective which was designed to verify the cultural impacts on belief-attitude relations. A new process of flat absorber black nickel alloy coating was developed on stainless steel by electrodeposition from a bath containing nickel,zinc and ammonium sulphates;thiocyanate and sodium hypophosphite for space applications.Coating process was optimized by investigating the effects of plating parameters,viz concentration of bath constituents,current density,temperature,pH and plating time on the optical properties of the black deposits.Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy showed the inclusion of about 6% phosphorous in the coating.The scanning electron microscopy studies revealed the amorphous nature of the coating.The corrosion resistance of the coatings was evaluated by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and linear polarization (LP) techniques.The results revealed that,phosphorous addition confers better corrosion resistance in comparison to conventional black nickel coatings.The black nickel coating obtained from hypophosphite bath provides high solar absorptance (α s) and infrared emittance (ε IR) of the order of 0.93.Environmental stability to space applications was established by the humidity and thermal cycling tests. 相似文献

CoWO4/PbWO4 nanocomposites were successfully synthesized at room temperature (RT) by co-precipitation route without using any templates or surfactants and sintered at 600 °C for good crystallization. The sintered samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy and Zeta potential measurements. UV–Visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) and PL lifetime were studied at RT. The results indicate that the composites have two-phase composition: CoWO4 and PbWO4. SEM micrograph and zeta potential measurements reveal particle agglomeration. The intrinsic PL peak emission at 467 nm of CoWO4 nano sample was enhanced upto four times by optimizing the atomic ratio of Pb/Co concentration. The interconnected interface of CoWO4/PbWO4 nanocomposites could have led to increase in number of recombination of electron hole pairs in CoWO4 and enhanced its intrinsic PL emission intensity. The mechanism of enhanced PL emission for the CoWO4/PbWO4 nanocomposites can be attributed to charge transfer between [WO4]2? and [WO6]6? complexes due to intra particle agglomeration leading to possible interface. 相似文献

Resistant starch in unripe banana offers a possibility to alter the glycemic properties in convenience foods, such as pasta. In this study, pasta formulations were tried by replacing 30% semolina with varying proportions of green banana flour (GBF) and banana-modified starch (MS). The effect of substitution on physicochemical and functional properties, including in-vitro starch digestibility, antioxidant property and consumer acceptability, was evaluated. Among the composite flours, MS recorded higher swelling power and water holding capacity. The replacement of semolina with GBF resulted in higher resistant starch, 4–5 times enhanced indigestible fraction, phenols, flavonoids and antioxidant activity in pasta. Pronounced increment was also observed in potassium, calcium and magnesium content in blended pasta. Optimal cooking time was reduced with the addition of GBF, whereas it was enhanced with MS. GBF and MS in the blends, decreased the hydrolysis rate (up to 24%) and glycemic index (up to 17%) of pasta. However, the addition of MS beyond 10% negatively influenced springiness and chewiness. Microstructural studies explained the positive structural changes with the addition of GBF and MS. Sensory attributes disclosed that the addition of 25% GBF and 5% MS is a desirable proportion for pasta with a functional characteristics. 相似文献

One of the advances in biotechnology has been the development of the capability to produce large quantities of highly purified polypeptides and proteins. Unfortunately, the circulatory half-lives of many of these agents are short, usually of the order of minutes and the time required for a response in tissues is usually long compared to the half-life. Hence, there is always demand for polymeric systems which can deliver the proteins for prolonged period and also to protect the molecules from degradation. The present work was attempted to develop heparin-functionalized gelatin microspheres (HMS) to deliver heparin-binding growth factors particularly for wound-healing applications. The heparin conjugation was carried out using EDC/NHS coupling protocol. Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF) was loaded in HMS and its in vitro release behaviour in an environment with or without proteases was studied. The bioactivity of the HB-EGF released from the microspheres was assessed using NIH 3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast culture. The extent of heparin modification was found to be 1.97 μmol/g of HMS and demonstrated significant protection against enzymatic degradation and sustained release of HB-EGF for more than 10 days. The bioactivity of HB-EGF released from the HMS was retained during the observed release period. The HMS was also found to be non-toxic as determined by calcein AM fluorescent staining. The overall study suggests that the HMS could be used as a growth factor’s delivery component in tissue engineering scaffolds particularly for wound-healing applications. 相似文献
