Quoting the abundance and cost of sodium reserve and robustly safe and high-energy solid electrolytes, sodium solid-state batteries (SSBs) exhibit huge promise for future energy storage applications compared to battery systems using organic liquid electrolytes and Li counterparts. However, the progress and application are still in infancy, experiencing numerous challenges for sodium SSBs due to inherent properties, interface complications, and fabrication. These are recently receiving unprecedented research attention by understanding and steadily resolving the issues associated with sodium SSBs. In this review, the governing bulk and interfacial issues and dynamics, background research correlations from Li counterparts, and strategies to address them are investigated for various ceramic-, polymer-, and ceramic–polymer composite based solid electrolytes. Particular attention is devoted to issues with ceramic electrolytes (such as interfacial stability, brittleness, porosity, and grain–grain boundary resistance) and polymer electrolytes (like dendrite formation, passivation layer, electrochemical instability, and ionic conductivity), and finally, robustness in overall performance and a few drawbacks (such as filler agglomeration, interface dynamics, and crack propagation) on the composited state-of-the-art ceramic–polymer electrolytes are highlighted. To end with, crucial inferences and future research perspectives are condensed on the development of enhanced solid electrolytes for sodium SSBs overcoming the shortcomings illustrated for different electrolytes. 相似文献

Removal of manganese from water by electrocoagulation: Adsorption,kinetics and thermodynamic studies

The present study provides an electrocoagulation process for the removal of manganese (Mn) from water using magnesium as anode and galvanised iron as cathode. The various operating parameters like effect of initial pH, current density, electrode configuration, inter‐electrode distance, coexisting ions and temperature on the removal efficiency of Mn were studied. The results showed that the maximum removal efficiency of 97.2% at a pH of 7.0 was achieved at a current density 0.05 A/dm2 with an energy consumption of 1.151 kWhr/m3. Thermodynamic parameters, including the Gibbs free energy, enthalpy and entropy, indicated that the Mn adsorption of water on magnesium hydroxides was feasible, spontaneous and endothermic. The experimental data were fitted with several adsorption isotherm models to describe the electrocoagulation process. The adsorption of Mn preferably fitting the Langmuir adsorption isotherm suggests monolayer coverage of adsorbed molecules. In addition, the adsorption kinetic studies showed that the electrocoagulation process was best described using the second‐order kinetic model at the various current densities. © 2012 Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering 相似文献

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is one of the most common types of congenital heart defects (CHD). There are vivid multifactorial causes for VSD in which both genetic and environmental risk factors are consequential in the development of CHD. Methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) and methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) are two of the key regulatory enzymes involved in the metabolic pathway of homocysteine. Genes involved in homocysteine/folate metabolism may play an important role in CHDs. In this study; we determined the association of A66G and C524T polymorphisms of the MTRR gene and C677T polymorphism of the MTHFR gene in Iranian VSD subjects. A total of 123 children with VSDs and 125 healthy children were included in this study. Genomic DNA was extracted from the buccal cells of all the subjects. The restriction fragment length polymorphism polymerase chain reaction (PCR-RFLP) method was carried out to amplify the A66G and C524T polymorphism of MTRR and C677T polymorphism of MTHFR genes digested with Hinf1, Xho1 and Nde1 enzymes, respectively. The genotype frequencies of CC, CT and TT of MTRR gene among the studied cases were 43.1%, 40.7% and 16.3%, respectively, compared to 52.8%, 43.2% and 4.0%, respectively among the controls. For the MTRR A66G gene polymorphism, the genotypes frequencies of AA, AG and GG among the cases were 33.3%, 43.9% and 22.8%, respectively, while the frequencies were 49.6%, 42.4% and 8.0%, respectively, among control subjects. The frequencies for CC and CT genotypes of the MTHFR gene were 51.2% and 48.8%, respectively, in VSD patients compared to 56.8% and 43.2% respectively, in control subjects. Apart from MTHFR C677T polymorphism, significant differences were noticed (p < 0.05) in C524T and A66G polymorphisms of the MTRR gene between cases and control subjects. 相似文献

Galvanostatic electrochemical oxidation of dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) to dimethylsulfone (DMSO2) has been effected at a dimensionally stable anode (DSA) under different conditions of current density and reaction media, in both a batch and a flow reactor (membrane cell with an ion-exchange membrane between the two working electrodes) functioning in batch recirculation mode. Excellent yields of the sulfone have been obtained under both conditions. The product has been characterized by various physicochemical techniques. The operational conditions giving maximum yield of the product have been established. The electrochemical oxidation of DMSO has also been studied by cyclic voltammetry at a glassy carbon (GC) electrode. The mechanism of electrochemical oxidation and the advantages of the present methods over existing ones, are discussed. 相似文献

Withania somnifera is an important medicinal plant, which is used in traditional medicine to cure many diseases. Flavonoids were determined in the extracts of W. somnifera root (WSREt) and leaf (WSLEt). The amounts of total flavonoids found in WSREt and WSLEt were 530 and 520 mg/100 g dry weight (DW), respectively. Hypoglycaemic and hypolipidaemic effects of WSREt and WSLEt were also investigated in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. WSREt and WSLEt and the standard drug glibenclamide were orally administered daily to diabetic rats for eight weeks. After the treatment period, urine sugar, blood glucose, haemoglobin (Hb), glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1C), liver glycogen, serum and tissues lipids, serum and tissues proteins, liver glucose-6-phosphatase (G6P) and serum enzymes like aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), acid phosphatase (ACP) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels were determined. The levels of urine sugar, blood glucose, HbA1C, G6P, AST, ALT, ACP, ALP, serum lipids except high density lipoprotein-bound cholesterol (HDL-c) and tissues like liver, kidney and heart lipids were significantly (p < 0.05) increased, however Hb, total protein, albumin, albumin:globulin (A:G) ratio, tissues protein and glycogen were significantly (p < 0.05) decreased in alloxan-induced diabetic rats. Treatment of the diabetic rats with WSREt, WSLEt and glibenclamide restored the changes of the above parameters to their normal level after eight weeks of treatment, indicating that WSREt and WSLEt possess hypoglycaemic and hypolipidaemic activities in alloxan-induced diabetes mellitus (DM) rats. 相似文献

A technique that is sensitive to change in texture is more reliable than mechanical property measurements for the study of
recrystallization behavior in alloys where recrystallization is coupled with precipitation. Hence, ultrasonic velocity measurements
have been employed to characterize microstructural changes during annealing of cold worked Ti-modified austenitic stainless
steel where precipitation of TiC is known to retard recrystallization. Mechanical property measurements, such as strength
and hardness, could not distinguish the recovery and recrystallization regimes, and it was difficult to determine the exact
time or temperature for onset of recrystallization. The variation of velocity with annealing time or annealing temperature
exhibited a three-stage behavior. The velocity exhibited a slight increase in the recovery region followed by a sharp and
continuous decrease in the recrystallization region and reached saturation on completion of recrystallization. Based on the
microstructural investigations, the three stages were identified to be recovery, progress of recrystallization, and completion
of recrystallization. Velocity measurements could sense the onset, progress, and completion of recrystallization more accurately

Activated tungsten inert gas (A-TIG) and flux-cored arc (FCA) weld metals were prepared using 304LN stainless steel plate. The weld metals were thermally aged at 923, 973 and 1023?K for 100?h to study the decomposition of initial δ-ferrite in A-TIG (~10 ferrite number (FN)) and FCA (~5 FN) weld metals into secondary phases like M23C6 carbides, χ and σ. Ferrite number is the measurement of δ-ferrite based on the principle of magnetic property using ferritescope. Preliminary microstructural studies revealed the formation of carbides in FCA weld metals aged at 923?K for 100?h, which was correlated with higher carbon content (0.04?wt-%), and also ageing at higher temperature transformed δ-ferrite into χ/σ phases. However, A-TIG weld metals showed the transformation of δ-ferrite mainly into χ/σ phases. The δ-ferrite transformation kinetics was found to be sluggish in A-TIG weld metals compared to FCA weld metals. This difference was attributed to the difference in the carbon contents of A-TIG and FCA welds. Activated tungsten inert gas weld metals showed better uniform and pitting corrosion resistance compared to FCA weld metals in as-deposited and thermally aged conditions. Presence of higher amount of initial δ-ferrite content in A-TIG weld metal helped diffusion of minor alloying elements like sulphur and phosphorous into it, thereby reducing their microsegregation at the δ/γ interface boundaries and subsequent pitting corrosion attack. Co-B alloy has been deposited on steel from an alkaline citrate bath. Uniform deposits have been obtained in the current density range of 8–15 Adm ?2.Cvclic voltammetric studies on platinum from this bath reveal that the cobalt citrate complexes undergo stepwise electronation with the participation of hydroxyl ions. The borates undergo reduction to boron in the alloy deposition. The hydrogen evolution reaction has been found to be hindered by cobalt and borate ions. Stripping voltammetric curves on the alloy film suggest the dissolution of cobalt from a cobalt rich phase. 相似文献

Online cage rotor fault detection using air-gap torque spectra 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This paper discusses use of air-gap torque spectra as a means of identifying faults in cage rotors. Being dependent on both stator and rotor currents, the torque is very sensitive to faults in the rotor. Through a comparative study using a detailed machine model and the standard dq model, the paper shows that the characteristic frequencies generated by a particular fault are preserved even if the standard dq model is used for estimation of air-gap torque. This is validated through a practical hardware implementation for online spectrum estimation of air-gap torque using TMS320C31, where several faulted cage rotors were used for study. 相似文献
