Rapidly dried onion (Allium cepa L. cv. Momiji No. 3) powder (OP) prepared from the outer layers (from second to fourth scale leaves from the surface) of onion bulbs was analysed for its quercetin and polyuronide contents, the effects of enzymatic treatment and the anti-atherogenic effect on rats fed a high-fat diet. Quercetin 4′-glucoside (50%), free quercetin (30%) and quercetin 3,4′-diglucoside (20%) were identified as quercetin derivatives, and boiling-water extraction was effective in extracting these compounds. OP contained 12.9% of polyuronides, the basic skeleton of pectin. Enzymatic degradation (cellulase and pectinase, 50 °C for 12 h, pH 6.0) of OP was effective in obtaining a slurry of smaller particle sizes. The free quercetin increased and the glucosides decreased with enzyme treatment. In Wistar rats fed an OP-added high-fat diet, the total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations were not significantly different from the rats fed a high-fat diet without OP. However, the atherogenic index (AI) of Wistar rats fed an OP-added high-fat diet was lower (AI = 3.3) than rats fed the diet without OP (AI = 4.1). The incremental elastic modulus (IEM) of the aorta from rats fed the OP-added diet was also significantly lower than that of the rats fed the diet without OP. The AI and IEM values of the rats fed the OP-added diet were quite similar to the values of rats fed the diet without OP but were allowed spontaneous exercise. These results suggest that OP intake is effective for decreasing the risk of arteriosclerosis.  相似文献

D-Allose (D-All), a C-3 epimer of D-glucose (D-Glc), is a naturally rare monosaccharide, which shows anti-proliferative activity against several human cancer cell lines. Unlike conventional anticancer drugs, D-All targets glucose metabolism and is non-toxic to normal cells. Therefore, it has attracted attention as a unique “seed” compound for anticancer agents. However, the anti-proliferative activities of the other rare aldohexoses have not been examined yet. In this study, we evaluated the anti-proliferative activity of rare aldohexoses against human leukemia MOLT-4F and human prostate cancer DU-145 cell lines. We found that D-All and D-idose (D-Ido) at 5 mM inhibited cell proliferation of MOLT-4F cells by 46 % and 60 %, respectively. On the other hand, the rare aldohexoses at 5 mM did not show specific anti-proliferative activity against DU-145 cells. To explore the structure–activity relationship of D-Ido, we evaluated the anti-proliferative activity of D-sorbose (D-Sor), 6-deoxy-D-Ido, and L-xylose (L-Xyl) against MOLT-4F cells and found that D-Sor, 6-deoxy-D-Ido, and L-Xyl showed no inhibitory activity at 5 mM, suggesting that the aldose structure and the C-6 hydroxy group of D-Ido are important for its activity. Cellular glucose uptake assay and western blotting analysis of thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) expression suggested that the anti-proliferative activity of D-Ido is induced by inhibition of glucose uptake via TXNIP-independent pathway.  相似文献

Pt48.75Pd9.75Cu19.5P22 amorphous alloy exhibits obvious glass transition behavior at a temperature of Tg=502 K, which is below the crystallization temperature Tx=588 K, and develops a supercooled liquid state in a wide temperature range of ΔTx (=TxTg)=86 K. The present paper investigates the macroscopic and microscopic deformation behavior of the material and the possibility of micro-nano forming as a fabrication method and material for nano-devices. On a macroscopic scale, the material exhibits a Newtonian viscous flow in a supercooled liquid state. An index of the microformability is also evaluated by the geometrical transferability of a die shape to the material. For this study, we fabricated V-grooved micro dies of (100) Si by a silicon process. The V-groove dies are from 100 nm to 1 μm wide. The material exhibits superior formability on micrometer and nanometer scales and may possibly be applied to micro-nanomaterials for micro-nano devices.  相似文献

An electric-field sensor consisting of thin copper plates is designed to measure an oscillating electric field produced by charge separations on a plasma column. The sensor installed in a vacuum region around plasma detects charges induced by the electric field on the copper plates. The value of the induced charges depends not only on the strength of the electric field, but also on the design of the sensor. To obtain the correct strength of the electric field, a correction factor arising from the design of the sensor must be known. The factor is calculated numerically using Laplace's equation and compared with a value measured using a uniform electric field in the frequency range of 10-500 kHz. When an external circuit is connected to the sensor to measure the induced charges, the electric field around the sensor is disturbed. Therefore, a double-sensor method for excluding a disturbed component in the measured electric field is proposed. The reliability of the double-sensor method is confirmed by measuring dipole-like and quadrupole-like electric fields.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To compare U.S. medical student Match results in 1996 for 19 categorical residency positions by specialty with those of the overall Match reported by the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). METHOD: Data for the numbers of "active" senior U.S. student applicants (those who submitted rank lists), the numbers of U.S. seniors matched, and the numbers of unfilled positions for 19 specialties were obtained from a variety of sources. Chi-square analysis was performed to compare Match results for each independent specialty with the overall Match results. The level for statistical significant was set at p < .005. RESULTS: Eight specialties were identified as significantly more competitive than the overall Match process for both the percentage of U.S. seniors who successfully matched in that specialty and the ratio of unmatched U.S. senior applicants to unfilled categorical positions. Five specialties were identified as significantly less competitive for these two measures. Six specialties showed no significant difference in the percentages of U.S. students matching, but for three of these specialties there were more unmatched students than unfilled categorical positions. CONCLUSION: U.S. medical student Match results for categorical residency positions for different specialties vary significantly from the overall Match process. This information can be used in counseling senior medical students on their specialty selection and the residency application process.  相似文献

SiO2-impregnated complete and incomplete cubane-type molybdenum oxide clusters such as [(RhCp*)4Mo4O16] (I) and [(RhCp*)2Mo3O9(OMe)4] (II) were photoreduced with a UHP-Hg lamp (> 365 nm) in CO, resulting in the formation of catalytically active species for propene metathesis at 300 K. The CO-photoreduced Mo oxide clusters were characterized by EXAFS, IR, XPS and TPD technique. The results suggest that the Mo-O4c (four-centered bridging oxygens) in I were specifically reduced with CO under the illumination to produce two sets of subcarbonyl species, e.g., those characteristic of the IR bands at 2061 and 2021 cm–1, which were thermally inactive for the13CO exchange reaction but very active under illumination at 300 K, possibly assignable to Mo(CO)x (x = 2, 3), whereas those at 2092 and 2035 cm–1 due to Rh(CO)2, which were readily exchangeable with13CO at 300 K in dark. Removal of both carbonyls attached on Rh and Mo in photoreduced I and II by evacuation at 375–440 K led to the formation of oxygen-deficient Mo4+/Mo5+ sites, which exhibited high catalytic activities in propene metathesis at 300 K to produce an equimolar mixture of ethene and 2-butenes. The CO-photoreduced incomplete cubane Mo oxide cluster (II) exhibited higher activities and higher trans/cis ratios of 2-butenes in the reaction, compared with those on the photoreduced I.  相似文献

This contribution reports the catalytic behavior of bis(pyrrolide-imine)Ti complexes 1 and 2 , [2-(RNCH)-C4H3N]2TiCl2 ( 1 , R = Ph; 2 , R = cyclohexyl), and bis(phenoxy-imine)Ti complex 3 , [2-(Ph-NCH)-3-t Bu-C6H3O]2TiCl2 for the copolymerization of ethylene with propylene, 1-hexene, or norbornene. An inspection of the X-ray structures of complexes 1–3 suggested that complexes 1 and 2 with pyrrolide-imine ligands would provide more space for olefin polymerization than complex 3 with phenoxy-imine ligands. In addition, DFT calculations also showed that active species derived from complexes 1 and 2 possess higher electrophilicity of the Ti center compared to that from complex 3 . Complexes 1 and 2 on activation with methylalumoxane (MAO) had higher affinity for propylene and 1-hexene and incorporated higher amounts of propylene ( 1 ; 30.5 mol%, 2 ; 23.4 mol%) and 1-hexene ( 1 ; 1.9 mol%, 2 ; 1.7 mol%) than complex 3 (propylene; 4.5 mol%, 1-hexene; 0.4 mol%). The incorporation levels of propylene and 1-hexene displayed by complexes 1 and 2 were lower than those for Cp2TiCl2 (propylene; 41.6 mol%, 1-hexene; 5.1 mol%) under identical conditions. In contrast, complexes 1 and 2 exhibited higher incorporation ability for norbornene and produced copolymers with much higher norbornene contents ( 1 ; 32.0 mol%, 2 ; 26.5 mol%) than Cp2TiCl2 (1.2 mol%) under the same conditions. Additionally, complex 3 also promoted higher norbornene incorporation (4.3 mol%) than Cp2TiCl2 and provided a copolymer with extremely narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn 1.14). A correlation exists between electrophilicity of the Ti center in active species and norbornene incorporation.  相似文献

Bridgman directional solidification of investment castings is a key technology for the production of reliable and highly efficient gas turbine blades. In this paper, a mathematical model for three-dimensional (3D) simulation of solidification process of single crystal investment castings was developed based on basic heat transfer equations. Complex heat radiation among the multiple blade castings and the furnace wall was considered in the model. Temperature distribution and temperature gradient in superalloy investment castings of single blade and multiple ones were investigated, respectively. The calculated cooling curves were compared with the experimental results and agreed well with the latter. It is indicated that the unsymmetrical temperature distribution and curved liquid-solid interface caused by the circle distribution of multiple turbine blades are probably main reasons why the stray grain and other casting defects occur in the turbine blade.  相似文献

We propose a method for analyzing photometric factors, such as diffuse reflection, specular reflection, attached shadow, and cast shadow. For analyzing real images, we utilize the photometric linearization method, which was originally proposed for image synthesis. First, we show that each pixel can be photometrically classified by a simple comparison of the pixel intensity. Our classification algorithm requires neither 3D shape information nor color information of the scene. Then, we show that the accuracy of the photometric linearization can be improved by introducing a new classification-based criterion to the linearization process. Experimental results show that photometric factors can be correctly classified without any special devices. A further experiment shows that the proposed method is effective for photometric stereo.  相似文献

Quad Flat Pack (QFP) Leads/Sn-3.5Ag-X (X=Bi and Cu) joint was thermally cycled between 243 K and 403 K or 273 K and 373 K, and both metallographic examination and mechanical pull test were performed to evaluate thermal fatigue damage of the joint. The addition of bismuth drastically degrades the thermal fatigue resistance of Sn-3.5Ag solder. On the other hand, the pull strength of Sn-3.5Ag-Cu solder joints slightly decreased with increasing number of thermal cycles, though it still remains higher in comparison to that for conventional Sn-37Pb or bismuth containing solder joint. The behavior observed here reflects the isothermal fatigue properties of bulk solder, because thermal fatigue crack initiates at the surface of solder fillet and propagates within the fillet in an early stage of fatigue damage. Furthermore, the lead phases lying at the interface between lead-frame and bismuth containing solder joint may promote the crack propagation at the interface, resulting in the extremely low thermal fatigue resistance of the joint.  相似文献
