WiMAX is the first cellular standard that employs OFDMA technology and provides true integrated services for both fixed and mobile broadband access. Among the many new technologies adopted in WiMAX, MIMO antenna technology plays an essential role in delivering fast, rich-content, mobile broadband service reliably over extended coverage areas. In this article we provide a survey on the state of art of MIMO technologies in current WiMAX standards with an emphasis on practical engineering considerations. Moreover, we also briefly discuss the ongoing MIMO technologies in the evolution toward the next-generation WiMAX network.  相似文献

A simple electromechanical equivalent circuit model is used to predict the behavior of capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (cMUT). The equivalent circuit model of the cMUT lacks important features such as coupling to the substrate and the ability to predict crosstalk between elements of an array of transducers. To overcome these deficiencies, a finite element model of the cMUT is constructed using the commercial code ANSYS(R). Calculation results of the complex load impedance seen by single capacitor cells are presented, then followed by a calculation of the plane wave real load impedance seen by a parallel combination of many cells that are used to make a transducer. Crosstalk between 1-D array elements is found to be due to two main sources: coupling through a Stoneley wave propagating at the transducer-water interface and coupling through Lamb waves propagating in the substrate. To reduce the crosstalk level, the effect of structural variations of the substrate are investigated, which includes a change of its thickness and etched trenches or polymer walls between array elements  相似文献

Clozapine is an atypical antipsychotic agent that is more effective than the standard neuroleptics currently used for treating refractory schizophrenia. In addition, clozapine is a drug with few extrapyramidal side effects. However, clozapine is also associated with potentially serious adverse effects, such as cardiac complications as well as agranulocytosis. Clozapine-related cardiomyopathy has not been previously reported in East Asia. This report describes a 31-year-old Korean male patient with schizophrenia who developed dilated cardiomyopathy on treatment with clozapine. The removal of clozapine caused subsequent physical improvement. However, the readministration of clozapine for managing relapse of psychosis caused a recurrence of dilated cardiomyopathy in this patient. Therefore, this is the 1st report showing that the 2nd trial of clozapine caused recurrence of cardiomyopathy associated with clozapine. Thus, this report adds important support for a causal relation between clozapine and cardiac complications. In conclusion, this report attempts to raise awareness of clozapine-related cardiomyopathy. The inhibitory effect of methanol extract of Korean soybean paste on the mold growth and aflatoxin production of a toxigenic strain of Aspergillus parasiticus ATCC 15517 was studied using different concentrations of the extract in yeast-extract sucrose broth. While inhibition in mold growth due to increasing the concentration of the extract was observed, the more remarkable effect was the inhibition of aflatoxin production. Reduction of mycelial weight as a result of addition of the extract was observed to range between 1.5 to 12.9% while reduction of aflatoxin production quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography ranged from 14.3 to 41.7%. Five percent of the extract significantly reduced aflatoxin production at the end of the incubation period (P < 0.05), although the effect on mycelial growth was less pronounced. This study indicates that soybean paste could also be an effective inhibitor of aflatoxin production even though mycelial growth may be permitted. The main active component identified by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy was linoleic acid.  相似文献

Stimuli‐responsive carriers releasing multiple drugs have been researched for synergistic combinatorial cancer treatment with reduced side‐effects. However, previously used drug carriers have limitations in encapsulating multiple drug components in a single carrier and releasing each drug independently. In this work, pH‐sensitive, multimodulated, anisotropic drug carrier particles are synthesized using an acid‐cleavable polymer and stop‐flow lithography. The particles exhibit a faster drug release rate at the acidic pH of tumors than at physiological pH, demonstrating their potential for tumor‐selective drug release. The drug release rate of the particles can be adjusted by controlling the monomer composition. To accomplish multimodulated drug release, multicompartmental particles are synthesized. The drug release profile of each compartment is programmed by tailoring the monomer composition. These pH‐sensitive, multicompartmental particles are promising drug carriers enabling tumor‐selective and multimodulated release of multiple drugs for synergistic combination cancer therapy.  相似文献

Time sequences, which are ordered sets of observations, have been studied in various database applications. In this paper, we introduce a new class of time sequences where each observation is represented by an interval rather than a number. Such sequences may arise in many situations. For instance, we may not be able to determine the exact value at a time point due to uncertainty or aggregation. Such observation may be represented better by a range of possible values. Similarity search with interval time sequences as both query and data sequences poses a new challenge for research. We first address the issue of (dis)similarity measures for interval time sequences. We choose an L1 norm-based measure because it effectively quantifies the degree of overlapping and remoteness between two intervals, and is invariant irrespective of the position of an interval when it is enclosed within another interval. We next propose an efficient indexing technique for fast retrieval of similar interval time sequences from large databases. More specifically, we propose: (1) to extract a segment-based feature vector for each sequence, and (2) to map each feature vector to either a point or a hyper-rectangle in a multi-dimensional feature space. We then show how we can use existing multi-dimensional index structures such as the R-tree for efficient query processing. The proposed method guarantees no false dismissals. Experimental results show that, for synthetic and real stock data, it is superior to sequential scanning in performance and scales well with the data size.  相似文献

This paper presents a single-electrode capacitive sensor using a single-bit second-order incremental delta–sigma architecture. In order to achieve high accuracy in this capacitance-to-digital converter (CDC), the shielding signal and the digitally controlled offset capacitors are used in combination with the delta–sigma CDC. The designed sensor is suitable for capacitive transducers for ±10 pF input range with sub-fF resolution.  相似文献
