Weathering modification of acrylic emulsion by introducing UV absorbing groups

A new kind of UV-absorbing silicon-fluorinated acrylic emulsion was prepared by emulsion polymerization with 4-allyloxy-2-hydroxybenzophenone, 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS) and hexafluorobutyl methacrylate (HFMA) as functional monomers. The emulsion and its coating were characterized by transmission electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ultraviolet absorption spectrum,thermo-gravimetric analysis, water contact angle (CA), and artificial accelerated aging test. The results indicated that the emulsion with core-shell structure was synthesized and showed prominent absorption peaks at 320 and 350 nm. The water CA of the coating was increased from 70.2° to 86.7° because of the incorporated HFMAs and MPSs. Both of the initial and final decomposition temperatures of the coating were increased by more than 20°C compared with those of the unmodified coating. After 10 days of accelerated aging, the color difference (ΔE) and rate of loss of gloss (ΔG) were only 2.78% and 5.22%, while those of the unmodified coating were as high as 22.94% and 78.57%, respectively. Because of the UV absorbers were incorporated by chemical reaction, the new coating had a more durable and effective anti-ultraviolet performance compared with the coatings the UV absorbers were introduced by physical blending.

Investment casting of NiAl single-crystal alloys

Significant progress has been made in the understanding of solidification conditions, microstructure evolution, and defect formation during investment casting of NiAl single crystals. The high liquidus temperatures of NiAl alloys result in a larger dendrite arm spacing than is found in superalloy René N5. Because of their higher thermal conductivities, NiAl alloys have higher cooling rates and lower temperature gradients during solidification than René N5. These differences give NiAl alloys a lower tendency to form freckles and a higher tendency to form equiaxed grains. However, with the aid of process modeling, single crystals of various shapes of NiAl alloys have been produced.     

Partial Electrode Processes at AC-Polarized Copper in Chloride and Nitrate Media

The dissolution of a copper electrode by passing a rectangular alternating current of an infralow frequency (1/6 Hz) was studied by chronopotentiometric method. The near-electrode concentrations of copper oxidation products were calculated by the numerical solution of the boundary problem of transient diffusion. In concentrated chloride electrolytes, the shape of the E vs. t plot was found to be determined by transient mass transfer. The ratio of the copper reduced during the cathodic half-period to its amount dissolved in the anodic half-period was estimated experimentally. This ratio was used to determine the distribution of faradaic charges between different partial electrode processes. In nitrate electrolytes, cathodic process significantly affects the anodic dissolution of copper.     

视觉检测系统中亮度不均匀背景的一种去除方法

刀具形状视觉检测系统中，照明不均匀对测量结果影响很大。针对这种情况，提出了基于二维二阶多项式拟合并去除不均匀背景的方法。遵循最小均方程差原理，给出了二维二阶拟合的矩阵表达式。在编制的程序中，拟合点以人机交互形式由鼠标点击选出，程序自动记录所选点的图象人材与亮度值信息，然后拟合出背景曲面，并以二值图象形式给出去除背景后的目标图象。对一幅光照模型未知的网络图象进行了背景去除，实验结果良好。     

纳米金刚石的应用

纳米金刚石不仅具有金刚石所固有优异特性，而且还具有纳米材料所拥有的奇异性能。正是这些综合技术特性，使得它在传统的和新的技术领域中得到应用，并初见成效，本文从超精抛光、润滑、复合镀、磁性录音系统和医疗等方面的应用做了扼要的叙述，指出，纳米金刚石颗粒具有球形和准球形的特点，使得摩擦表面形成滚珠轴承效应，而表现出良好的润滑性，从而避免于摩现象的发生，而对一些主要因接触疲劳或高温磨损而失效的工件，纳米金刚石金属的复合涂层，则具有明显的优越性。
