Eco‐friendly synthesis of the silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has a number of advantages like simplicity, biocompatibility, low toxicity in nature over their physical and chemical methods. In the present study, the authors report biosynthesized AgNPs using the root extract of the perennial plant ‘Spiny gourd’ (Momordica dioica) and investigated their anti‐bacterial application with mechanistic approaches. Different biophysical techniques such as UV‐Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, TEM, SAED, and DLS were employed for AgNPs characterization. The synthesized AgNPs were polydispersed, crystalline in nature, with anionic surface (−22.3 mV), spherical in shape with an average size of 13.2 nm. In addition, the AgNPs were stable in room temperature and in different biological buffers. The anti‐bacterial activities of AgNPs were studied with respect to the pathogens such as Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus (Gram‐positive), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella planticola (Gram‐negative), and Candida albicans. Also, mechanistic studies of AgNPs such as protein leakage assay, nucleic acid leakage assay, ATP leakage assay, ROS accumulation, determination of biofilm degrading activity, measurement of potassium, showing that the synthesized AgNPs are capable of containing a potential application in the antimicrobial therapeutic agents and the pharmaceutical industry.  相似文献

Trilepisium madagascariense (TM) and Antiaris africana (AA) are two underutilized plants from Nigeria. They have been subjected to standard analytical techniques in order to evaluate the proximate composition, physico-chemical properties, mineral nutrient, fatty acid composition and distribution in the lipid classes of the seeds and seed oils. The carbohydrate composition of these seeds are high; TM is 62.73 ± 0.30% and AA is 53.97 ± 0.50%. Iodine value of TM was found to be 46.10 ± 0.70 mg iodine/g while that of AA was 88.24 ± 0.50 mg iodine/g. The mineral composition of the seeds and the oils varied with K having the highest concentration in the seed and Na the highest concentration in the oils. Linoleic acid is the dominant fatty acid in the oil of AA with the highest composition in the neutral lipids while palmitic acid is the dominant fatty acid in oil of TM. Vitamin E, Gamma-Sitosterol, α and β-Amyrin, Lupeol, Stigmast-4-en-3-one, and hydrocarbons were isolated from these oils. The results of the proximate, mineral nutrient compositions, chemical characterization and fatty acid distribution of these seeds and seed oils shows their possibility as potential resources.  相似文献

Chip-multiprocessor (CMP) architectures are a promising design alternative to exploit the ever-increasing number of transistors that can be put on a die. To deliver high performance on applications that cannot be easily parallelized, CMPs can use additional support for speculatively executing the possibly data-dependent threads of an application. For cross-thread dependences that must be handled dynamically, the threads can be made to synchronize and communicate either at the register level or at the memory level. In the past, it has been unclear whether the higher hardware cost of register-level communication is cost-effective. In this paper, we show that the wide-issue dynamic processors that will soon populate CMPs, make fast communication a requirement for high performance. Consequently, we propose an effective hardware mechanism to support communication and synchronization of registers between on-chip processors. Our scheme adds enough support to enable register-level communication without specializing the architecture toward speculation much. Finally, our scheme allows the system to achieve near ideal performance.  相似文献

It is well understood that effective and comprehensive CAD representation methods are necessary for modelling all the design and manufacturing functions in an automated environment. Recent research work has concentrated on using Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) methods and Boundary Representation (B-Rep) schemes for representing design and manufacturing functions. This paper presents several novel ideas on the application of octree and quadtree based representation schemes in several manufacturing areas such as robotic task planning, tolerance representation and inspection, feature-based design, and assembly modelling and verification. Suggestions on the application of extended octrees for modelling metal forming operations are also presented.  相似文献

Fermentations with genetically altered bacteria tend to lose plasmids as the fermentation progresses. Methods such as two‐stage cultivation, cell recycle and the addition of antibiotics are commonly used to enhance plasmid stability. Here we examine a different method, the regulation of mixing in the bioreactor. In particular, large bioreactors are considered where uniform mixing is difficult to achieve and the probability of plasmid loss varies with the specific growth rate. For both batch and continuous cultivations of Escherichia coli C600 gal K containing the plasmid pBR Eco gap, it is seen through a model that both modes of operation exhibit high plasmid stability and cell growth when the broth is incompletely mixed, and mixing near and away from the point of inoculation are unequal. Thus, the natural incomplete mixing in large bioreactors may be utilized to improve plasmid stability. A practical method to implement this idea is suggested. A finite element model for a piezoelectric plate with edge debonded actuators is presented. This model is employed to investigate the effect of edge debonding on actuation authority, natural frequencies and vibration control performance. The regions of the plate with the piezoelectric patches are modelled such that each layer undergoes rotation due to shear deformation independently. The necessary constraints for continuity of displacements at the interfaces of the layers are imposed. The plate with edge debonded actuators is idealized by dividing it into debonded regions and healthy regions. A finite element procedure for imposing the constraints regarding continuity of displacements at the interfaces of the adjacent regions is developed and is implemented using MATLAB. Experiments are conducted for finding the actuation authority and natural frequencies of the plate with debonded actuators. It has been found that the developed model has predicted the mechanics of actuator debonding properly. The investigations have revealed the fact that the edge debonding of actuators will result in considerable degradation in actuation authority and vibration control performance.  相似文献

Samarium titanate (Sm2TiO5) was prepared by solid-state synthesis and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Heat capacity measurements were carried out by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in the temperature range 298-800 K. Thermal expansion characteristics have been studied by high temperature X-ray diffraction technique (HTXRD) in the temperature range 298-1573 K. The heat capacity value at 298 K is 170 J K− 1 mol− 1. The percentage linear thermal expansion in the temperature range 298-1573 K along a, b and c axes are 0.96, 0.89 and 1.07 respectively. The average coefficient of thermal expansion value obtained in the present study for samarium titanate up to 1573 K is 10.8 × 10− 6 K− 1.  相似文献

Providing effective medium access for wireless networks is a challenging task. Most of the existing protocols of IEEE 802.11 Medium Access Control (MAC) work towards the goal of achieving effective channel access by developing various backoff procedures. In this paper, we make an attempt to develop a new medium access protocol named Learning Automata (LA) based Wireless Channel Reservation (LAWCR). We use an LA approach to implement reservation for channel access for single hop wireless networks. Also, sequence procedure is used to improve the reservation mechanism. The performance of the proposed LAWCR scheme show significant improvements over the legacy DCF protocol with respect to important criteria such as the average time spent in the buffer and the throughput.  相似文献

A lead based quaternary compound composed of 0.25(PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3) + 0.25(PbFe0.5Ta0.5O3) + 0.25 (PbF0.67W0.33O3) + 0.25(PbFe0.5Nb0.5O3) - (PZT-PFT-PFW-PFN) was synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction techniques. It showed moderate high dielectric constant, low dielectric loss, and two diffuse phase transitions, one below the room temperature ∼261 K and other above ∼410 K. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns revealed a tetragonal crystal structure at room temperature where as scanning electron micrograph (SEM) indicates inhomogeneous surface with an average grain size of 500 nm-3 μm. Well saturated ferroelectric hysteresis loops with good saturation polarization (spontaneous polarization, Ps ∼ 30.68 μC/cm2) were observed. Temperature-dependent ac conductivity displayed low conductivity with kink in spectra near the phase transition. In continuing search for developing new ferroelectric materials, in the present study we report stoichiometric compositions of complex perovskite ceramic materials: (PZT-PFT-PFW-PFN) with diffuse phase transition behavior. The crystal structure, dielectric properties, and ferroelectric properties were characterized by XRD, SEM, dielectric spectroscopy, and polarization. 1/? versus (T) plots revealed diffuse relaxor phase transition (DPT) behavior. The compositional variation on the phase transition temperature, dielectric constant, and ferroelectric to paraelectric phase transitions are discussed.  相似文献
