We previously found that short-term treatment (week 8 to 12 after injury) with high-dose angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) induced the regression of existing glomerulosclerosis in 5/6 nephrectomy rats. We therefore assessed the effects of long-term intervention with ARB vs. nonspecific antihypertensives in this study. Adult rats underwent 5/6 nephrectomy and renal biopsy 8 weeks later. The rats were then divided into three groups with equivalent renal function and glomerular sclerosis and treated with high-dose losartan (ARB), nonspecific antihypertensive triple-therapy (TRX), or left untreated (Control) until week 30. We found that blood pressure, serum creatinine levels, and glomerulosclerosis were lower at sacrifice in ARB and TRX vs. Control. Only ARB reduced proteinuria and maintained the density of WT-1-positive podocytes. Glomerular tufts showed more double-positive cells for CD44, a marker of activated parietal epithelial cells, and synaptopodin after ARB vs. TRX or Control. ARB treatment reduced aldosterone levels. ARB-treated rats had significantly improved survival when compared with TRX or Control. We conclude that both long-term ARB and triple-therapy ameliorate progression, but do not sustain the regression of glomerulosclerosis. ARB resulted in the superior preservation of podocyte integrity and decreased proteinuria and aldosterone, linked to increased survival in the uremic environment.  相似文献

Pomegranate juice was concentrated by conventional heating and microwave heating at different operational pressures (12, 38.5, and 100 kPa), and their effects on evaporation rate and quality attributes of concentrated juice were investigated. The final juice concentration of 40° Brix was achieved in 140, 127, and 109 min at 100, 38.5, and 12 kPa, respectively, by using conventional heating. Applying microwave energy decreased required times to 118, 95, and 75 min. The changes in color, anthocyanin content, and antioxidant capacity during concentration processes were investigated. L*, a*, and b* parameters were measured to estimate the intensity of color loss. All Hunter color parameters decreased with time. Results showed that the degradation of color, anthocyanins, and antioxidant activity were more important in conventional heating compared to microwave heating method. Degradation rates increases by increasing process pressure. A first-order kinetics model was applied to modeling changes in total solid content, anthocyanin content, and antioxidant capacity.  相似文献

Surface tensions (σ) of binary liquid mixtures of acetonitrile (ACN) with 1-propanol (PrOH) were measured over the entire composition range at eight different temperatures, 278.15 K, 283.15 K, 288.15 K, 293.15 K, 298.15 K, 303.15 K, 308.15 K, and 313.15 K. The lyophobicities (β) of the surfactant PrOH relative to that of ACN as well as the surface mole fractions () of PrOH at various temperatures were derived using the extended Langmuir model (Langmuir 17, 4261, 2001). The β values indicate the greater affinity of PrOH for the surface, and this trend slightly increases with rising temperature. The determined values indicate that the surface concentration of PrOH is always higher than its bulk concentration and consequently confirm that the surface is enriched with PrOH.  相似文献

The development of cost‐effective and flexible electrodes is demanding in the field of energy storage. Herein, flexible FexOy/nitrogen‐doped carbon films (FexOy/NC‐MOG) are prepared by facile electrospinning of Fe‐based metal–organic gels (MOGs) followed by high‐temperature carbonization. This approach allows the even mixing of fragile coordination polymers with polyacrylonitrile into flexible films while reserving the structural characteristics of coordination polymers. After thermal treatment, FexOy/NC‐MOG films possess uniformly distributed FexOy nanoparticles and larger accessible surface areas than traditional FexOy‐NC films without MOG. Taking advantage of the unique structure, FexOy/NC‐MOG exhibits a superior rate performance (449.8 mA h g?1 at 5000 mA g–1) and long cycle life (629.3 mA h g–1 after 500 cycles at 1000 mA g–1) when used as additive‐free anodes in lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

The power conversion efficiency of organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells has increased rapidly, but the device stability remains a big challenge. Previous studies show the grain boundary (GB) can facilitate ion migration and initiate device degradation. Herein, methimazole (MMI) is employed for the first time to construct a surface “patch” by in situ converting residual PbI2 at GBs. The resultant MMI–PbI2 complex can effectively suppress ion migration and inhibit diffusion of the metal electrodes. The origin of the surface “patch” effect and their working mechanisms are investigated experimentally and theoretically at the microscopic level. It hence demonstrates a simple and effective method to prolong the device stability in the context of GB engineering, which could be extensively applied to perovskite‐based optoelectronics.  相似文献

Effects of nanocrystalline ferrite particles addition on densification behavior and magnetic properties of the NiCuZn ferrites were investigated. It was confirmed that nanocrystalline ferrite particles enhanced densification of the samples obviously. The reason was attributed to the nanocrystalline particles, which spread around the micron-sized ferrite particles, increased contacting area and inter-diffusion of the particles. When the amount of nanocrystalline particles addition reached to 30 wt%, the samples obtained an approximate densification behavior as the 1.5 wt% Bi2O3 added samples. Due to relatively bigger grain size, higher sintering density and no different chemical composition sintering aids added, the sample with 30wt% nanocrystalline ferrite particles got the highest permeability and relatively high Q-factor when sintered at 900.  相似文献

On the basis of the rational analysis about the fluidic property of the system, an ultralow gas flow chemical vapor deposition (CVD) strategy was designed to prepare large-scale horizontally aligned ultralong single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) arrays. SWNT arrays could be well obtained under extremely low feeding flow of 1.5 sccm in a 1 in. quartz tube reactor. It was confirmed that the tubes grew floatingly and could cross microtrenches or climb over micro-obstacles in ultraslow gas flow. SWNTs arrays also could be formed no matter the substrate was placed vertically or upside down. The growth mechanism was discussed. Both the buoyancy effect induced by gas temperature/density difference and gas flow stability played dominant roles. More attractively, simultaneous batch-scale preparation of SWNT arrays was realized by the ultralow gas flow strategy. This new strategy turns to be more abstemious, efficient, promising, and flexible compared with the high gas flow rate fast-heating CVD processes.  相似文献
