Least squares approximation problems that are regularized with specified highpass stabilizing kernels are discussed. For each problem, there is a family of discrete regularization filters (R-filters) which allow an efficient determination of the solutions. These operators are stable symmetric lowpass filters with an adjustable scale factor. Two decomposition theorems for the z-transform of such systems are presented. One facilitates the determination of their impulse response, while the other allows an efficient implementation through successive causal and anticausal recursive filtering. A case of special interest is the design of R-filters for the first- and second-order difference operators. These results are extended for two-dimensional signals and, for illustration purposes, are applied to the problem of edge detection. This leads to a very efficient implementation (8 multiplies+10 adds per pixel) of the optimal Canny edge detector based on the use of a separable second-order R-filter  相似文献

The oscillation dynamics of a nonhysteretic, one-contact superconducting quantum interferometer under low-frequency modulation of an external magnetic flux has been studied. It is shown that even in the case of adiabatic, equilibrium, and nonhysteretic operation modes of a superconducting ring enclosed by a weak link, there can appear chaotic oscillations. The conditions of chaos arising have been considered analytically and numerically; mechanisms and destruction scenarios of periodic oscillations have been studied. The stochastic instability could impose limitations on the increase in sensitivity of nonhysteretic SQUIDs, which was earlier predicted to be high enough.  相似文献

A theoretical approach to the dynamic analysis of deactivation and aging of heterogeneous catalysts is proposed — analysis of the rate derivative in a kinetic equation of a given form. Methodology was demonstrated for the simplest kinetic equations — zero-and first-order. Regardless of the form of the kinetic equation for the dynamic model of deactivation, the rate constant is a function of an independent reaction coordinate. Hydrolysis mechanism plays a dominant role in the delicate balance of electron donor/electron acceptor ratios in BNR and EBPR systems as an important carbon source. In this study, the surface‐saturation‐type hydrolysis kinetics was investigated based on respirometric measurements, within the context of the theoretical and the practical identifiability of mathematical models. The identifiable parameters of a selected model were derived from respirograms. In addition, the information from the experiments was evaluated on the basis of Optimal Experimental Design (OED) methodology for different initial conditions of the batch respirometric experiment. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Methods for finding the parameters (energies and capture coefficients for electrons and holes) of the levels involved in the formation of the recombination flux are suggested. Industrial solid-liquid separation processes, such as pressure filtration or membrane processes, involve the application of pressure to suspensions. In response, some water is extracted, the suspension volume is reduced, and the dispersed aggregates start to form a network. In recent works, we aimed to make a prediction for the response of aggregates to stress which occurs during a filtration. We chose model systems made of aggregated silica nanoparticles. Some of these systems offer a strong resistance to applied stresses, and retain their permeability; others yield and collapse. We used small angle neutron scattering by which we can locally quantify the particle distribution withi the network to determine the processes by which particles reorganise during collapse: we found that reordering processes at the scale of 1 to 10 particle diameters control the course of collapse and the loss of permeability. Finally we constructed a numerical model for describing the processes by which colloidal aggregates are compressed. This model predicts that the response of such networks to pressure follows some scaling laws, which depend only on the elastic vs. dissipative nature of interparticle bonds.  相似文献
